@minarcana sent ❝ can’t believe you’re on your feet already. ❞ from rusi'a Last of Us Pt 2 Sentence Starters
Tumblr media
"It's not as bad as everyone saying..." The young adventurer starts slowly, nervously, rubbing the back of her bandaged right ear until she catches the warning expression from Mother Miounne behind the counter. Flinching, she suddenly recalls one of the chirurgeons telling her that she isn't supposed to touch the back of that ear for a long while.
Eep. I think it wasn't that bad...It's too bad I can't remember how I even found my way back to the Canopy...
"The chirurgeons here in Gridania are greatly skilled healers, and I'd say they've earned their reputation in that regard. They were able to help me in time." She says more firmly, then adds, "I think some of the talk is exaggerated if not overly embellished."

minarcana | Rusi'a
When entering any given business in Gridania (and even out of that), there’s a solid chance that one will come across Rusi'a, somehow, scampering around the edges and performing some type of temp work or other. This day and place is no different, as here Rusi'a is found hefting a massive box of equipment from storage sheds. Once he plops it down, before him is: “Oh, hey! Artemis, right?” He knows that face!
Or, at least, he really hopes he’s remembering right. “Do you work here? I’m just for a couple days so it’s not like I’ve got any idea of everyone here— oh, whoop, or was I in your way?”
"That's my middle name. It's Selena, but to be fair, I did go by that for a while," Selena says, and points out the direction she's going with her right hand, "I work at the bookshop down the street and coming back from running errands." She adjusts the heavy bag of supplies she was carrying with her left arm.
"No, no, you're fine. If anything, I'm the one in your way," She answers with a small laugh then steps aside to let him pass.

━━ ❥❥❥ @minarcana feat. rusi'a : a kiss on the corner of the mouth,  hoping for more but expecting nothing. from rusia, giving his best attempt at being an endearing lil guy despite her being wicked out of his league ANOTHER KISS PROMPT ━━ accepting !!
Tumblr media
ENDEARING IT CERTAINLY IS if not unexpected, though not an unwanted advance — she applauds his bravery. such a chaste kiss to the corner of full lips — how she so intimately knows that coy want for more without the proper words to voice it. oh, but she isn't one to waste time doing the wrong dance around a subject — perhaps, even if out of want of amusement at times.
fingers adorned with golden claws place a gentle firmness to his chin && jawline, cupping it to so precisely turn his head, pressing her lips to his in full this time. held for a moment, just long enough to leave a strong lasting effect before pulling away a breaths length with a knowing smirk.
Tumblr media
❝ do you not know how to kiss, darling ? i could surely teach you. ❞ she jests with a faux, playful click of her tongue at his expense — all in the name of teasing him in all his endearing glory.

@minarcana said: "It's really coming down!" from rusi'a to anyone u want. he's leaning out the window, tail twitching excitedly. "there will probably be a good bunch of mushrooms afterwards!"
' looks to be. ' alisaie's got her journal balanced between her fingers, a quill being lazily twisted in the other. her eyes haven't even glanced up towards the window rusi claimed as a perch, the heavy sounds of drumming rain an almost comforting sound 'pon the roof. well, she's written enough for now. ali tosses aside her belongings, rising from one of the chairs to approach rusi'a instead.
she's pretty sure he's getting soaked, but it doesn't seem to bother him. ' emery taught me about the safer ones that grow around eorzea. i wouldn't mind collecting some to add to our kitchen. ' she looks over at rusi'a with raised eyebrows, a faint smirk twitching her lips. ' dare you to go run out into the storm. there's some proper puddles out there... '

@minarcana ○ 𝕣𝕦𝕤𝕚'𝕒 𝕒𝕤𝕜𝕖𝕕 𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕒 ○
⤷  『  Rusi'a is drawn to the sound of an instrument playing, slipping easily along a hillside and taking a shortcut by hopping through tree branch. It does mean he approaches the bard from above instead of along the ground, but look. It's easy to travel by tree when you don't want to deal with aggressive fauna. Once he finds who's playign, he waits on a lower bough for the song to end before he pipes up, leaning below leaves with a bright wave. "You're good at playing! How'd you learn how to do that?"  』
Tumblr media
Considering how busy it felt like things were between regular adventuring work and the ever-looming threat of yet another Garlean invasion because the first one hadn't been bad enough… Well, it's rare she can snatch a few hours away to herself to simply… Enjoy her music.
Most of the time she's either shooting arrows or infusing aether into her songs for various effects to support her party, so it's rare she just gets to play for relaxation and fun. That was what her little escapade into the Twelveswood was for. It was the quietest place she knew, and you could find secluded little spots that weren't too dangerous. A few stray boars or bats, even the occasional treant was easy enough to deal with.
That was how she'd found herself playing her songs on a stump in the not-quite clearing. Her ears were perched attentively atop her head, upright and swivelling for the slightest signs of danger to be picked up on before she ended up in trouble.
Still, she hadn't heard him approach, so when suddenly the branches near her rustle, and he pops out of them to compliment her playing, well… She might have jumped and squeaked. Might have! He'd better not tell anyone—!
Quickly recomposing herself, Eremina finds her head tilting in vague recognition, although seeing him upside down isn't helping.
"Wait a minute, don't I know you?" She's all but certain she's seen him before on several occasions, either while out adventuring or while helping Verity with some Scion stuff when she could spare the time.
"Oh, and thank you. It's just practice, I suppose." She simply preferred stringed instruments, there was just something about them… Her little harp is absolutely her favourite though, and she's quite versatile with it, despite the fact it's small enough to carry around and has far fewer strings than a traditional standing harp.

"what happened to you ?" from rusi'a
[ let's begin @minarcana ]
Arismont's laugh came out breathy, weak, as he leaned against a tree deep in the Gridanian woods. His wounds were slowly healing themselves as he kept casting Vercure over and over. Though, it was hard to keep it up as his magic desperately wanted to go back to red, rather than white. "I was fighting a mark, and it caught me unawares. The Huntsclan failed to mention how silent it was."
He shuffled up a little straighter. "The mark is dead now, so you need not worry."

"Mmm definitely, I'm not sure how the other races manage without the occasional cuddle pile," He agreed. "Though I guess just depending on each other seems enough for most of them."
He purrs some when Rusi'a nuzzles his cheek. Having a friend to trust like this feels better than a massage at Kugane's bath house. The pure relaxation of trusting someone.
"If you like it, I could suggest the alchemist who puts it together," He said. "I do it more for the scent though, They're from Gry Abania like me, and do a great scent of some cactus flowers native to the area."
"You've gotta keep it balanced, at the very least. It keeps you sane to have somebody to lie on, I think." Rusi'a says sagely, nuzzling his cheek against Calem. "'S alright, I'd still hang out with you even if you weren't soft— it's just a bonus that you use the good shampoo.

@minarcana said: Any excuse is a good excuse to find oneself in a party, and Rusi'a isn't going to avoid a good holiday event. It's a bustling evening, food and drink aplenty and the traveler has indulged in both. An arm goes around asi'mina's shoulder. Camaraderie, holiday friendly spirit, etc. etc.! "Look, look." Rusi'a points at the awning above them, grinning widely. Once his companion's attention is sufficiently diverted upwards, he leans in and plants an only slightly mead-tinged kiss to her cheek. "'S mistletoe." It is indeed, freshly gathered and tied from the roof with bright ribbon. "I can't just break rules of tradition, now can I?"
between attempting to count all the snowman decorations and humming cheerful tunes under her breath, mina was highly enjoying herself. gridania always looked so magical during the holidays - she grew up around it, whether or not she had anyone to enjoy it with.
— meaning she was beyond grateful for rusi’a going along with her festivities. the bard just finished her own mead, pocketing her flask before refocusing her wayward attention. ‘ what am i lookin’ at, r — ‘ she asked too soon, ears perking atop her dark hair. ah. well, that made her lose count entirely. mina hardly minded. ‘ . . . you call that a kiss ? we’ll work on it. ‘ she teased, leaning against him before slipping an arm around his waist. ‘ c’mon, you want cocoa ? that’s tradition too. least for me — an’ i’ll buy. ‘

L'Calem grunts when the giant creature leans into his body. Rusi'a currently much bigger than he can comfortably hold up. He manages a position that keeps him from getting completely crushed at least. Though he laments the linen he's currently wearing, it will take ages to de-hair the thing.
"Yes well, it's sort of instinct to run when you see a giant predator. Whether it's barreling toward you or slinking it rarely is good," He says.
When Rusi'a admits to completely forgetting that they knew Urianger just like Calem did he had to chuckle a bit. Absent minded emergency or no it seems, considering not only was there Urianger, but an entire leadership of smarty-pants that could likely help.
"Oh certainly, I think the entire group would collapse without it's nice foundation of sensible folk like myself," He says with another laugh. "C'mon, lets find someone with a covered wagon, I can drive it while you hang out in the back. That way no one we'll panic on our way to Ul'dah."
also @marionmaverick
They don't even notice Calem bearing claws, too distracted they are with their wailing approach. As soon as he pets them, that's confirmation that he'll help! Thank the gods! The furry shape flops against Calem, tail winding around him. He narrowly avoids having most of the ferret-shape Rusi's become wind around him, too, like a furry python.
They are, in effect, very glad to get help. A bit difficult to hug normally in their present state, after all. "Thank you! Gods, everyone else kept running, even when I approached all calm and quiet, so I started getting worried I'd have to sneak somewhere, but I didn't know where, so--" Rusi'a catches themselves rambling, so inhales and then slowly exhales to cut themselves off. They deflate from around Calem, releasing him from their enthused clinging. "Oh-- Urianger. I forgot about him completely." Oopsies. But now that Calem mentions him, it makes sense. "This is why I need you around. Good plan."

"To be fair some of them I just ignore," He laughed. "I'm impressed you asked about me! Do you always do research when paired up with someone?"
He hops over a log as they continue to speak, slowly getting into a rhythm along side Rusi'a. They are an odd one for sure, but L'calem doesn't think he dislikes it.
"That is true!" He agrees, "makes up for the sleeplessness."
He smiles at the compliment to his fangs. He's never thought of them as cute so much as functional, but he appreciates the sentiment.
L'calem stops every so often and audibly can't quite keep up with Rusi'a's chatter. Rusi'a doesn't mind, not all of their sounds are to inspire a reply in particular. Whatever conversational direction is interesting, whatever Calem wishes or manages to reply about, Rusi'a can follow. "It's a bit similar. Saying things without saying them." It's different from how Rusi'a chatters, though they can't exactly explain how. "Anyways, I tried to find out what the others thought about you, 'yknow, if I'd need to be extra serious or whatever. Your lack of substance is I guess why I got vague answers." Nothing bad, just not exactly forthcoming.
Rusi'a hums. "You'd think most Keepers, or people in general, would learn once someone becomes a traveler, but, you know. Can't have everybody in the world be welcoming." Unfortunately. Huff. "I really don't see anything weird about being a hybrid. You probably don't get sun-blinded every time you walk out and you have fangs, which I think are cute. Win-win, eh?"

"People also get excited whenever the Warrior of Light slays a primal or breaks wind in their general direction." The young adventurer snaps back, anxiously scratching her right arm. Then, without thinking, Artemis scratches the irritating itch behind the bandaged ear.
Her stomach churns from the guilt. Artemis did not have a believable explanation for everyone who asked, and she certainly did not plan to get so hurt during her excursion. She knew that she needed to come up with a lie to cover the truth of the matter.
I mistook Voidsent for Shadows before and I don't believe anyone other than Urianger has ever seen one, so they could make the same misconception... The adventurer began to think of her web, But there has to be some truth to it. Carlisle knew I was looking into the disappearances, and if I'm not careful, he will call me out. I need to keep that in mind.
"I-I..." Artemis began to try to explain slowly, then blinked as morbid curiosity took over, "W-wait. What story did you hear?"
"You know people only get excited about somebody getting killed! Or nearly killed." Rusi frowns, brows furrowing suspiciously at her attempt at deflection. Gridania has been host to enough adventurers and their misadventures that the standard for what warrants gossip is pretty high. Their tail-tip flicks with the amount of attention they;re paying to make sure she's not hiding anything obviously... they don't know, physically missing? Got a chunk taken out of her? The rumors were pretty bad, about a bloody mess taken to the conjurer's guild.
Well. They cross their arms and lean forward. "I know the conjurers are good but, seriously, what happened that you got got so badly? Even they're not perfect and you're up and at 'em pretty fast for what the story I heard was." They're concerned, honestly! They might not be besties with her, but Rusi'a likes knowing that people they know aren't in danger of falling apart suddenly.

He wasn't really sure what to expect when paired up with Rusi'a for the small mission. Certainly someone a bit more serious then the keeper he ended up with. It was cute though, how friendly they were. He appreciated the peaches as well. Even if their unending chatter was a bit daunting at times, he had a bit trouble keeping up when they were walking along, so he decided to stop for his reply.
"I don't think I'm that quiet. Just tend not to talk with any substance 'til I know you better," He said. "and I can tell, most Keeper's aren't fans of hybrids like myself. You're too friendly to be mistaken for the "weird" ones."
He laughed a little as he repeated Rusi'a's words at them.
@ardynzunia // starter call
Rusi'a steps along the rocks forming loose chunks of banister on the Eighty Sins leaving Ul'dah, ignoring the actual steps themselves in favour of a sprightly skitter. "I know you're the quiet sort," they say, making a leap to their next chosen rock. 'Suspicious' is more like it, perhaps 'recalcitrant'. "But this might not be the only time we work together. We're both Scions, right? And I heard you were a craftin' sort, eh? Me too, though only recently. So let's get along! I might be from the Gridanian forest, but I'm not one of the one's who's weird about it."
They speak in a chipper chirping of a voice, unimpeded by their bouncing about and very nearly slipping right into their beleaguered escort. It's fine, surely he'll like them, Rusi'a has but a short time earlier pulled out their best offering of high-quality hand-gathered peaches.
