And then the paranoia starts and Alonso is looking around the paddock to see who could be, but he doesn't see him close to anyone, until he saw Pedro and Fermín being bitchy towards it each other. And then he goes down the rabbit hole and finds all the photos of them together and the media asking about the relationship so he ends up putting two and two together.

And Alonso doesn't want to sound like a jealous bf, so he keeps it into himself, until one podium where Pedro is not happy and he wants to hurt them, so he tells 'keep the trophy, at least I was Fermín's first'. And sincerely it hurts because Pedro knows parts of Fermín he doesn't know and they have a past, plus they both have championship and he doesn't have it, which makes him spiral.

(And we are into drama, maybe Las Vegas happens, and Alonso accidentally cheats, while Fermín is back at home having a party, where Pedro sneaks himself in, kind to make them remember old times).... (Or Alonso invited Fermín to Las Vegas as a birthday present, but Also says no I'm going to celebrate with the family, but Alonso manages to see photos of the celebration and Pedro is there).

I did not want to jump on your post uninvited, but I sincerely believe that Pedro fucking Fermín before Alonso got his shit together enough to make a move had the chance is Alonso's villain origin story.

This explains why Pedro fight the SpeedUP so hard as he is not happy to see his ex-happy with someone else. Or why Alonso races so hard against Pedro as he is afraid Fermín will return to with his ex. After all, Pedro and Fermín have know each for so long
