Who ordered the ‘Oh No There Was Only One Bed’?
So, you may have seen me spamming (not actual spam) tumblr with posts about my Meat Raffle (not actual meat).
Here’s how it works.
You donate direct to AO3, WIRES or Australian Red Cross
You send me the receipt (pm here, or [email protected])
You get one entry in the draw for every $US 5 / $AU 7 you donate (note: AO3 accepts $US, the other two charities accept $AU)
I send you your unique ID code (for those who’ve already donated, I’ll be sending yours today)
I close the raffle at midnight EST on Friday 31 January
I random.org the list of donors and assign a number to each entry (eg, if you have four entries you’ll have one unique ID code but you might be assigned numbers 2, 18, 23, 46)
I draw FIVE (5) winners (I will be doing this live via random.org in the Voyager Book Club discord shortly after the raffle closes, then posting the results on my tumblr)
I will contact each of those FIVE (5) winners and ask them to submit their fic outline/preferences/requests within the next week
I will work out which request best fits which of the FIVE (5) volunteer authors
You will be put in touch with your author, who’ll write a fanfic to your specifications (to be agreed between author and winner).
tl;dr: Donate money to help Australian bushfire victims and you get the chance to win a fanfic written just for you.
RAFFLE CLOSES SOON! DONATE NOW FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN!
Please signal boost!

The first ‘Mia’s Meat Raffle’ fic is posted!
remember this?
Six writers volunteered to write fic for six randomly selected people who donated to the Australian Red Cross and/or Wildlife Rescue to help mitigate the human and animal cost from the Australian bushfires of 2019-2020.
I know coronavirus has taken over the news these days, and I hate to remind everyone of the tragedy just gone, but this post isn’t intended to be depressing.
Everybody give a big round of applause to the wonderful northernexposure, who’s started posting her fic for the lovely @traccigaryn!
War Games (or: Five Times Kathryn Janeway Won the Battle and One Time She Didn’t)
Stay tuned for more fics, to be added to a collection near you soon!

donate to help bushfire victims and win a fic
Whatever your opinion on January 26th, it’s as good a day as any to help out the Australians, furry, feathered or otherwise, who are struggling and suffering thanks to the bushfire crisis.
Until January 31st, for every $US5 / $AU7 you donate to WIRES or the Australian Red Cross, you get one ticket in Mia’s Meat Raffle. Contrary to popular misconception, if you’re one of the FIVE winners, you won’t be sent some manky Friday pub night meat tray. No, you’ll be assigned to one of the FIVE writers who’ve volunteered to write a fanfic to your very own personal specifications*!
Find out more
Please signal boost! The more donations we raise, the merrier!
Authors:
Mia Cooper | Mary S | KatLady | Indian Summer | northernexposure
*each author has their own wills and won’ts. please pm me if you would like more info before donating!

Meat Raffle: now three chances to win!
what am I talking about?
**update: thanks to your generous donations, we have so far raised $260 for these worthy causes... you guys are amazing! Let’s see how much more we can raise by 31 January.**
So, special announcement: two other fanfic writers have generously volunteered to write fic* for the meat raffle, so that anyone donating to Wildlife Rescue or the Red Cross for Australian bushfire victims, or to the AO3, now has not one, but three chances of winning a fic!
I’d like to extend a huge thankyou to Mary S, aka duffydog, and KatLady, for offering their time and talents.
and if anyone else would like to put their hand up and offer fanfic for charity, please get in touch with me.
* the authors have some stipulations about what they will/won’t write, so again, any questions please PM me or email me.

Who held the winning tickets?
And who’ll be writing fics for them in Mia’s Meat Raffle?
Winner #1 is @traccigaryn, who’ll be presented with a delectable dish from northernexposure,
Winner #2 is koneia, who’ll be dining on something delicious from KatLady,
Winner #3 is @cnrothtrek, who’s salivating for what Mriana is serving up,
Winner #4 is audabee, eagerly awaiting Mary S’s fabulous feast,
Winner #5 is @klugtiger, hoping she won’t break a molar on Mia Cooper’s mad munchables, and
Winner #6 is @arcadia1995, who will be savouring the tasty treats served up by Indian Summer!
Congratulations once again to all the lucky recipients! You’ll all be hearing from your personal chefs as soon as their, um, kitchens ... are ready... this metaphor sucks. I’m a terrible writer. @klugtiger, do you want a refund?
Words will now flow prolifically and without hesitation from the writers’ imaginations (and probably with as many profanities as Gordon Ramsay in full flight) and in due course, there will be six perfectly cooked fics ready for consumption! Naturally, the winners will get first taste, but in due time, you’ll be able to find the full course at the Mia’s Meat Raffle AO3 collection.
And in a few months’ time, I’ll be running another Meat Raffle for the Australian bushfire charities, so keep your utensils (and your credit card) handy 🐄

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Actually, winner winner Mia’s Meat Tray, but close enough.
First, let me thank all the wonderful people who donated to WIRES, Red Cross and AO3 (you can still donate if you so wish!). We raised an astonishing $815 in total, which is excellent 🥰 you can all feel very proud of yourselves.
$815 !!!
I may be running another meat raffle in a few months - just for bushfire relief this time, no AO3, sorry - as the bushfire season runs until April and the danger is nowhere near past. There’s also going to be a very long road to recovery for the land and wildlife, and there will still be people in need. So if you weren’t able to donate this time, you’ll have another chance (and there will be at least two fics offered in the next raffle too).
Everyone who donated has been assigned a unique ID - please check your email or PMs if you don’t know yours.
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for - okay no, first, I have another little announcement to make.
I promised you five people would win a fic, right? Surprise! We’ve had another author, Mriana, sign up to write a fic, so there are SIX lucky winners!
I drew the winners live a few minutes ago in the Voyager Book Club discord, so check your unique ID and match it up with the SIX winning numbers below!
Here is the randomised list of unique IDs against ticket numbers:
And now ... Drum roll please ...
Winner 1 is #120 (unique ID H)
Winner 2 is #52 (unique ID N)
Winner 3 is #24 (unique ID O)
Winner 4 is #110 (unique ID D)
Winner 5 is #130 (unique ID S)
And winner 6 is #12 (unique ID A)!
CONGRATULATIONS!
I will be in contact with all winners very shortly, but if you haven’t heard from me within 24 hours please pm me on tumblr or discord or email [email protected].
By midnight EST, Saturday 8 February 2020, I’ll be asking for a rough outline of your preferences in fandom, rating, pairing(s)/gen, plus any specific tropes, plots or anything else you have a hankering for.
I will then discuss your fic requests with the other five authors and together we’ll decide who will write for whom. I’ll then notify you and tell you how to get in touch with your author, and you’ll take it from there. A note: Compromise is a wonderful thing, but in the case of dispute, my decision will be final.
So cheers to youse all for coughing up the spondulicks and for a bonzer, true blue Aussie meat raffle. TWO FOUR SIX EIGHT BOG IN DON’T WAIT!
(translation: thank you all for your generous donations and for participating in a genuine Australian pub tradition. Let’s eat!)

Exciting Meat Raffle news!
Fanfic aficionados, strap into your seats.
We are just $20 shy of $500 in donations to the Australian bushfire charities (WIRES and Red Cross), and I had in mind that when we hit that goal, I’d add another author, Indian Summer, to the list of volunteers, bringing the raffle up to four chances to win a fic (by Mary S, KatLady or me).
*** Breaking News ***
Another volunteer has offered up a personalised fic-by-request to a FIFTH lucky raffle winner: none other than the amazing northernexposure!
Who will be the generous donor to tip us over that $500 goal and potentially win a personalised fic by one of these five talented authors?
