Chevy Blazer EV with 279 mile range starts at $56,500
Chevy Blazer EV with 279 mile range starts at $56,500
P.S. It's not a race: Tesla is completely safe. The Chevy Blazer EV looks like just another compliance electric car that will be produced in small numbers and will be too expensive to compete with Tesla and Chinese electric car makers.
Tesla's only real competitors are in China. BYD, SAIC and a few other Chinese car companies are already taking over the affordable electric car market where legacy OEMs are completely helpless...
In Riga, I already saw the first privately imported new Chinese-made MG ZS EV (Useable battery capacity-68.3 kWh; In Germany, it costs only approximately €37,990) with a Latvian registration number plate. Although the MG brand does not have an official importer and service centre in Latvia (at least I don't know of one), some brave person has already bought it and brought it from abroad...

How Much Will Tata’s New EV Cost in 2024?
The upcoming Tata Curvv EV has been generating a lot of buzz in the electric vehicle (EV) market, and a key aspect potential buyers are curious about is the Tata Curvv price. Slated for launch in 2024, the Tata Curvv is expected to be a game-changer in Tata Motors' lineup, combining futuristic design, advanced technology, and sustainability. But how much will this sleek electric SUV cost?
While Tata Motors hasn't officially announced the Tata Curvv price, industry experts and market trends provide us with some educated guesses. Considering Tata’s positioning of the Curvv as a premium SUV, the price is expected to range between ₹20 lakhs to ₹25 lakhs (ex-showroom). This pricing is anticipated to place the Curvv in direct competition with other electric SUVs in the market, such as the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.
Tata Motors aims to make electric mobility more accessible, and the Tata Curvv EV could be offered in multiple variants to cater to a wider range of customers. The lower-end variant could come equipped with a smaller battery pack, potentially lowering the Tata Curvv price, while the higher-end models might feature a larger battery with an extended range, pushing the price towards the premium end of the spectrum.
Additionally, Tata is known for offering competitive pricing in the EV segment, as seen with the Tata Nexon EV. This strategy could influence the Tata Curvv price, making it an attractive option for buyers looking to switch to electric vehicles without breaking the bank.
With government incentives for electric vehicles and growing infrastructure for EVs across India, the Tata Curvv EV could see significant demand once it hits the market in 2024. The blend of futuristic design, sustainable technology, and competitive pricing will likely make the Tata Curvv one of the most anticipated EV launches of the year.
In conclusion, the Tata Curvv price is expected to range between ₹20 lakhs and ₹25 lakhs, offering a balance of style, innovation, and affordability. As more details emerge, potential buyers will have a clearer idea of which variant best fits their needs and budgets.

Mechanic Guru: EV Showdown - Kona Electric vs MG ZS EV
Hey car lovers, Mechanic Guru here! Today, we're checking out 2 hot electric vehicles (EVs) in India: the Hyundai Kona Electric and the MG ZS EV. Let's see which one zooms ahead!
Power Punch
Hyundai Kona Electric: Choose from 2 battery strengths! The base model goes with a zippy motor, while the higher one packs a stronger double-motor punch for more speed.
MG ZS EV: This EV has a single motor, good for everyday driving but not as speedy as the Kona Electric's top option.
Going the Distance
Hyundai Kona Electric: Again, 2 choices! The base goes a decent distance, but the higher trim battery takes you much farther on a single charge.
MG ZS EV: MG ZS EV offers a good mid-range driving distance on a single charge.
Bonus Features
Hyundai Kona Electric: Both trims come loaded with cool tech like touchscreens and safety features. The higher trim adds fancy stuff like a sunroof and a surround-sound system.
MG ZS EV: This EV also has a touchscreen, sunroof, and safety features, plus a comfy inside space for passengers.
Mechanic Guru's Wrap-Up
The Hyundai Kona Electric wins for speed and long-distance driving (especially the higher trim). But the MG ZS EV is a good choice if you want a comfy ride, decent range, and features at a good price.
Test drive both and see which electric ride makes your heart race! And remember, Mechanic Guru keeps your EV (or any car) running smooth for miles and miles.

Tata Motors' Electric Cars Are Now More Affordable
Tata Motors' subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) has reduced the prices of its Nexon.ev and Tiago.ev. Nexon.ev prices have been reduced by upto ₹ 1.2 lakh while the Tiago.ev prices have been reduced by upto ₹ 70,000. New prices for Nexon.ev MR (Medium Range) start from ₹ 14.49 lakh, Nexon.ev LR (Long Range) start from 16.99 lakh and of Tiago.ev start from ₹ 7.99 lakh.
Company has cited reduction in battery cost for taking this step. Speaking about the price reduction, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, TPEM, said, "Battery costs constitute a substantial part of the overall cost of an EV. With battery cell prices having softened in the recent past and considering their potential reduction in the foreseeable future, we have chosen to proactively pass on the resulting benefits directly to customers. While EVs have grown rapidly over the last few years, our mission is to accelerate the mainstream adoption of EVs by making them more accessible nationwide. Our portfolio already offers a wide choice of body styles, range and price points for our smart, feature rich EVs. We believe that at these accessible prices, the best-selling Nexon.ev and Tiago.ev become an even more compelling proposition to attract a larger pool of customers."

New MG4 review: Volkswagen MUST respond!
Auto Express
The new 2022 MG4 is a wake up call for electric car makers. (..) This is British brand MG’s ‘ID.’ moment. While the Chinese-owned firm has dabbled with EVs in the past – including the impressive affordable ZS crossover and MG5 estate – this MG4 family hatchback is where the company’s push with its next generation of models really begins. That’s why, in almost every sense, you can see parallels with Volkswagen’s ID.3 – hence this being a crucial car for MG. For a start, both models are competing in the same sector and aiming for the same buyers: everyone from city dwellers to families who might use the MG4 as a second car, as well as company car drivers keen to cut their Benefit-in-Kind tax bill. There are even more similarities when you analyse the key figures. The MG4 EV is based on an all-new platform for the brand, called MSP, which stands for Modular Scalable Platform. Like the ID.3, it employs a rear-mounted motor producing 200bhp, which is fed by a 64kWh battery in this top-spec Trophy Long Range version for a claimed range of 270 miles. Opt for the more affordable SE Long Range and this increases to 281 miles. Meanwhile, all MG4s have 150kW rapid charging, so a 10-80 per cent top-up for the bigger battery takes 35 minutes. Use a 7kW home wallbox and it’ll take nine hours to fully replenish. As Nicola Hume finds out, the MG4 is a credible EV competitor, irrespective of the low asking price(..).
P.S. Volkswagen's engineers, accountants, shareholders and labor union need to go home and rethink a bit about how VW builds electric cars and why they are so overpriced...Electric cars actually have far fewer mechanical parts than ICE vehicles, and many manufacturing processes can be automated and assembly labor reduced. It's increasingly starting to look like legacy automakers whining about the cost of producing electric cars and the endless justifications for high prices are complete bullshit...

[ad_1] A battery fire destroyed five cars near Sydney Airport last night.Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) confirmed the fire was caused by a damaged lithium-ion battery that had been removed from an electric vehicle. The vehicle in question appears to be a circa-2020 MG ZS EV.The incident happened at about 8:30pm last night at a parking lot on Airport Drive, Mascot, near the airport perimeter.FRNSW said fire had engulfed the electric car and spread to four other vehicles when they arrived. It is believed the battery was being stored at the lot next to the car it belonged to.The airport’s Aviation Rescue Firefighting Service helped to extinguish the fire.Experts from FRNSW are continuing to examining the scene and piece together the exact circumstances of the fire.Research suggests that electric cars are less prone to fires than internal combustion vehicles but much harder to put out once they catch alight.Data from the National Transportation Safety Board, AutoinsuranceEZ found that 25 out of every 100,000 EVs sold caught fire, compared with 3474 fires out of 100,000 for hybrids and 1529 for petrol and diesel cars.Austin Fire Department in the United States estimated that an EV could take up to 150,000 litres of water to put out, compared with between 1900 and 3800 litres for a petrol car.But a FRNSW spokesman said the fire had been contained fairly easily.“They managed to get on top of it fairly quickly,” he said.He said crew watched the battery for several hours to make sure it didn’t reignite and then revisited the scene in the morning to ensure it was still stable. EV fires can reignite days after the initial incident and lead to “thermal runaway”, which is described as an uncontrollable increase in temperature.Electric car battery fires can be a greater risk than internal combustion engines because of the chemicals used in the battery. And there can often be a delay in ignition of the fire, as heat continues to build after the car is switched off, meaning the car can often be unattended when it catches fire.Several car makers have had to issue recalls for battery fire issues in the past.Read related topics:Sydney [ad_2]
