Tuesday Fun Fact; . The word #mezcal is derived from the Aztec word Mexcalli – which combines Metl (meaning maguey, also known as agave) with Ixcalli (means cooked). So Mezcal means “Cooked Agave.” Mezcalis not a type of Tequila, but Tequila is a type of Mezcal. . Being a beginner #mezcalito but allready a huge fan of this cocky and smoky alcohol, I sought out for inspiration! . My Belgian friend 🇧🇪@servedbysoberon did an excellent reshake on a recipe from Petraske’s “Regarding Cocktails”, where he replaced the #tequila with #gin. . Then I thought why not go straight to the root of tequilas; Mezcal! . I created this; . WINTER IN MEXCALLI . 5 CL mezcal @gusanorojo_mezcal 3 CL amaro @amaroramazzotti 2 CL fresh lime juice 1 CL maple sirup Shake with ice. Double strain over ice. Garnish with something X-Mas’ish.
