I cannot believe Jane and Petra have been dating for two years now

JTV Thoughts, Ch 97

JTV be like, “What if Mateo had been switched by the villain” and my Good Omens trash brain was like, “Ergo Mateo might be the Antichrist.”

Also, I love this win for Alba in this episode. I was getting annoyed with the Magda storyline because gdi hasn’t Petra been through enough, she’s outwitted Magda enough times that I’m actually tired of their interactions, but Magda wasn’t here for Petra this time. She was here for Alba. And Alba fucking slayed. I cheered. GOOD FOR YOU, ALBA! (Here’s hoping this means that the Magda chapter is closed on the series?)

And yes I fucking called it, Luisa was working against Rose, good job Luisa.

Potentially spoilery speculations under the cut:

This is the first time since I heard that someone was going to die this season that I’m not fearing that it’s either Rogelio or Xiomara who’s going to be offed. I think they’re both safe. The final episode better damn well not prove me wrong here. I don’t want them to die.

My theory is now: I’m pretty sure it’s going to be Rose. Which should piss me off as a wlw because Bury Your Gays, but I think it’s acceptable here. Because Rose is a villain, and it’s clear that prison isn’t going to stop her from being a villain, and as long as Luisa and Petra survive the series (and JR, if the rumors of her coming back are true), it’s not really a Bury Your Gays, is it? And it’s not even like Rose would be the only perma-death of the show, either, so.

(My other low-key theories leading up to last night’s episode, and were closed because of this episode, were: Magda, but her story I’m pretty sure is closed now; Jane, mostly in a dark contemplation over the Mateo is the Narrator Theory, but the entire cast says that the finale is satisfying so I have to assume it’s not her plus they’re leading up to a confrontation between her and Rose and so Jane’s gotta be coming out of that one victorious; Alba, but whyyyyyyyyy, that would make zero sense, her story seems Done now too; Luisa, which would actually piss me off, this woman deserves her redemption arc to come to a happy conclusion; and JR, which would be 100% out of the blue and kind of pointless if she’s been gone half the season? I’m absolutely convinced that Raf is safe, because Jane’s been through that bullshit already, and Petra is safe, mostly because Yael Grobglas said her ending was satisfactory and PETRA DOESN’T DESERVE TO HAVE AN ENDING LIKE THAT, THIS ISN’T GAME OF THRONES (presumably, I never watched GOT) OR THE MCU, GDI.)

So, I’m going for Rose as the Major Character Death. And it’s a deserved one, too. (Also I haven’t liked Rose since season... 3? She was a compelling villain in seasons 1-3 but everything about her was just... bleh since.)

AND I AM SO HAPPY THAT THE TOXIC WLW RELATIONSHIP IS DEAD, OFFICIALLY, FOREVER, THANK YOU LUISA FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING.
