Eh, wouldn't call it a derail given how Duke was in this exchange anyway-thanks for the update, btw. WRT Duke's family angle, I'd say the main thing would be keeping his parents in play. In other news, sure funny how early & mid-series Cass issues (and recent singles) keep introducing one-shot boyfriends or crushes/flings that didn't stick; that sure *could* hint at a queer awakening, and it's seriously tempting to say 'pull the damn StephCass trigger already, this has gone nowhere for yeeears'.

Yeah I agree! Keeping Duke's family in play (whether they're sane/not sane, alive/dead) is the key here. I prefer them alive because to me it's what separates him from Bruce/Dick, whose backstories he intentionally mirrors; however, @fartface025 did a nice write-up on how Duke's parents should be handled here.

I wholeheartedly agree about Cass, the amount of one-off boys Cass has is hilarious. If they were to bring anyone back my preference is Dr. Chin from Mariko Tamaki's "Sounds" story, but seriously doubt that will happen. She's never had a long-term love interest (even Jason has, like, Rose and Artemis, and he's next in line for having no major love interests). At this point StephCass is just logical!! You can't escape it forever DC!!
