FR what's even worse is that Stu was kinda right. He warned us in ch 25 part 2 that Dewey's time was gonna be taken up by Gale and Randy was gonna "find a girl as nerdy as him" and spend less time with us as a result 😒 obviously we'll still talk to them, but this is literally what adulthood does. When u grow up, you get more distant with people bc you have a job, a husband or wife, kids, bills to pay, college, you get extremely busy and things change...and that's so sad and relatable bc it happens everyday to people. It's so unfair, Y/n ain't perfect and she's made mistakes, but she don't deserve this 😭 however, I will say that it makes perfect sense.

It's messed up, but without Randy and Dewey in our life I can actually see us letting Billy and Stu back in. Them getting distant with us is just the beginning, once they leave Y/n won't care anymore. Why would she? Y/n said it herself - without Randy and Dewey she has practically nothing. It's SO messed up, but the only people who don't have anywhere else to go, who are just like Y/n with no real meaning in their life, are the people who ruined her life. It's kinda romantic bc Billy and Stu are gonna wanna replace Dewey and Randy and be there for her, but it's manipulative too bc Billy and Stu are gonna take full advantage of that just so they can be in her life again.

Billy and Stu are petty kings too, I 100 percent think they're gonna hold a grudge against them for hurting us. They'll never forget it 💯

FR it's such a relatable thing with adulthood.

It makes perfect sense especially if they all moved on, moved back to Woodsboro, got married, started families and careers and we're...YN. Just in our isolated house, alone, scared to make friends after Halie or Derek either scenario, scared to date or have no interest in it, scared to have kids bc our kids would be the first ppl GF would target to get to us...It's sad and yet I could see my own self doing it in her shoes. It shocked me Sidney having a family bc I srsly don't know if I would in her shoes!

And Randy and Dewey and Gale are second targets. They have trauma but they didn't deal with the shit we did.

Like Stu was right, we do 'need' them but not in the way he let on. It's more the fact that they're all tied together for life and will never feel the same way after everything. After Neil exposing them and fighting him together; there's no going back that they're stuck together in some way the second someone puts on that GF mask

Okay, I see you and raise you this:

Either Amber should have been the killer alone and less obvious she was the entire film OR pull a Billy and Stu where Amber's obvious like Billy....Then we have the slightly less obvious one Tara. If the writers REALLY wanted a homeage to Scream 1; they would have made Tara and Amber gay murder girlfriends like it was hinted Billy and Stu were. Only this time, make it obvious.

Make Sam more appealing. For gods sakes I know Mindy openly said she would be a Marysue but damn. Make her have anger issues or cynical or a weird sense of humor. SOMETHING. She's flat. While we're at it make her a red herring to the audience even as a main character. Why not? Go big or go home. She's Billy's daughter after all. The characters suspecting her aint enough; I wanted to side eye her ass too.

I see the appeal of Tara and she had a good actress. Just not my fav. If Tara would have been more of a red herring (MAKE THEM FUCKING GAY. GOD FOLLOW THE SCRIPT AND MAKE HER AMBERS GF) she would have perked my interest more.

I honestly just wish other than Mindy's monologs we got more meta horror and red herrings like in 1996.

I had to point out the shower scene to my cousin bc she's a fetus and doesn't get meta horror. Hell, have Mindy says something before Wes got home "Remember: don't wank off or take showers alone. It's 2022 guys get nude kills too now." Wes rolling his eyes as Chad says something like. "Yeah, that's why you need a buddy system. 😉" And the audience would have been MORE on edge when he took his shirt off.

The entire theater when I went were teens and like none of them reacted to the shower scene how I did or a group of older adults did near me until it was smacked in their faces when Ghostface called Judy. It's understandable bc its been 10 years since the last scream and not everyone was raised on them like I was. So it wouldn't shock me if a lot of the ppl in the theater never even saw Scream 1 and just went to see Scream 2022 thinking it was a remake.

(Or they're like my cousin and her friends and I can explain meta horror all I want and they just look at me like 🤨)

Just to add the same comic relief but the horror rules they had so much of in 1 and 2.

Add in more rules, red herrings and GAY.

Controversial take: Scream 5 was only good for you know who showing up and the Meeks. That's it.

Amber was annoying from the get go and I was rolling my eyes at her the entire time. She's pretty af but she was just the same old bitchy teen girl trope, Liv was annoying, Wes was cute but forgetable, I want to love Sam but she's a Mary Sue (They pointed it out too as a requeal so she gets a pass as a meta horror trope) Tara was meh, Richie was meh. I bet my cousin who the Ghostface was within the first 30 minutes and was right at the end, hardly any red herrings or twists, Ghostface motive was stupid and recycled. I would have rather the one Ghostface who got the Macher house be the one seeing shit like Stu and Billy egging them on and going insane to kill as a repeat of 25 years ago rather than what we got. You know who dying in 5 was underwhelming and could have been so much more memorable and it should have been by someone that would have felt more...Honored to do it and who fans thought it would be as much as he's mentioned.

I know they pointed it out as a meta horror but it felt like a wattpad fanfiction.

The only reason we liked it was for nostalgia of seeing these kids related to our favs and the Meeks being Meeks. THAT'S IT.

I liked Scream 5 better than 4 for characters and atmosphere but 4 alone had better plot and Ghostfaces by a landslide.

Ohoho fuego indeed. I personally really enjoyed Scream 2022 for more than just Billy and the twins, but I can see why others wouldn't.

Amber was hot, and I liked her in the climax. She was pretty boring for most of the movie, but the way she was an homage to Stu was awesome in my eyes. She plays crazy really well, like when she pointed to her head with the knife and made an "eee eee" noise or when she spit saliva while choking Gale. I loved her bullshit panicked reasoning for doing what she did. Imho I loved her in the climax, even if her motive was lame lol.

Liv was boring imho. But I think that was the entire point. Mindy said "you're too boring to be the killer." and lo and behold, she was lol.

Wes is cute and I liked how he was the level-headed one of the group. The shower scene was also 😏. But I'm disappointed they cut out him being openly gay, and having him have a crush on Sam for no reason? Kinda sad Kevin let that fly as producer, since he had a lot of input and worked closely with the director's according to them. The franchise would've had it's first confirmed homosexual cast member that wasn't played like a joke the way Robbie was. It would've been a nice step

Sam was awful and it's entirely because of Melissa Barrera's performance.

Tara was incredible and it's entirely because of Jenna Ortega's performance.

Other than that both Sam and Tara on paper are a bit meh. Sam had so much potential to be interesting by being Billy's kid, but she just...wasn't.

Richie was trash, but his actor did an pretty good job at playing the clueless boyfriend. I had spoilers he was a killer, and I still started thinking maybe I was wrong bc he just genuinely looked so confounded the entire time lol. But Richie himself? Garbage. Also he's ugly and he's a redditor.

Mindy is tied with Tara as my fav character. maybe even more than Tara tbh. Chad was also phenomenal.
