If rebecca by daphne du maurier has only one hater then that is me. If rebecca by daphne du maurier has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against hating rebecca by daphne du maurier, then I am against the world.

#sorry to all the people that like this book i just thought of a silly #and i really hated that book #me and daphne du maurier just don't jive i think #and dead bodies don't work like that i'm just saying #normally i'm of the belief that you don't have to like characters to find them compelling #but in this book i didn't like any of the characters except for like one side guy that's there for like a couple pages i think #and i didn't find any of them compelling either #so i just got more and more pissed with the nameless main character as she kept making bitchass decisions for a bitchass man #like girl either get smarter or get more unhinged but for the love of god do something more entertaining #anyway i found out later that daphne du maurier also wrote the story that the movie the birds is based on and well #i hated that movie too because i thought it was dumb #so i think i just don't vibe with daphne du maurier's flavor of horror #which is odd because i like mary shelley and shirley jackson #so i could see a world where someone would think daphne du maurier would fit in a similar sphere but just.#her work is so grating to me ngl #it's nothing personal #sorry for going on an unhinged tangent about a dead lady
