the recent discussion on whether romeo should or should not be allowed to roam free after s2 is very funny when you remember that as early as the second half of s1, ivor--who created the witherstorm who did a whole lot more damage on a far larger scale than romeo actually did--is accepted as a part of society with only a couple of off-hand remarks made to the witherstorm

Cassie Rose might genuinely be a better person than me because if I was forced to either starve to death or kms horrifically by being eaten alive by endermites as punishment for killing 3 people, and when i escaped years later and them found out minecraft Hitler dropped a nuclear bomb on a whole city and mass murdered basically an entire world because he was mad at his friends got off scott free to skip through the daisies because he felt sorry? I wouldn't even bother with threatening hate mail I'd just literally kill Jesse and blow up Beacon Town myself lol

Re: the anon that thought Romeo’s punishment was disproportionate compared to Cassie’s:
That would be very valid of you Anon, but I have to disagree. Cassie Rose wasn’t imprisoned for the crime of killing three people, she was imprisoned for the crime of being too paranoid. She was not going to trust the gang enough to come to a compromise. She was going to keep trying to kill them until we either trapped her or she succeeded. You have the option to keep offering her a truce right up until the end, but the only way to get out alive is to physically restrain her or something to that effect. Romeo is spared because he’s willing to cooperate.
The ideal of the law imo, shouldn’t be punishment equal to the crime which creates more net harm - just in a direction that appeals to some people’s sense of justice. It should be prevention of as much harm as possible (or even reverse harm done, if that can be accomplished in a fair way.) That means doing whatever it takes to stop the perpetrator either by correction, taking away the resources they were using, imprisonment, or execution, depending on how likely the person is to keep . . perpetuating after whatever method you use. This game seems to operate on the same principle. If you stop hurting people you’re forgiven, but you have to commit yourself to fixing as much of the damage done as you reasonably can.
Ivor helped you beat the witherstorm. Aiden regretted what he did to Sky City and is getting jail time and promised not to be a dick going forward. Cassie got locked out of reach of the people she wouldn’t stop trying to kill. Harper did everything in her power to unchip the Crown Messa people and is so so grateful when you help her finally do it. Hadrian and Mevia get locked up out of reach of their games and Otto commits himself to fixing the games to be closer to the original, benevolent vision. Romeo agrees that he should never have had the power that he did and that he should get whatever punishment Jesse decides for him. (This can either be staying in the Terminal, or community service.)
It’s honestly something I really like about the game, y’all need to stop bashing it.

Pardon my French but I'm surprised people really like Romeo. (though I guess the Tumblr sexy man phenomenon prevails) He's an inveterate asshole throughout the entirety of S2 even when Jesse decides to be nice to him, but then decides to have a change of heart and feel remorse for what he's done right after he's gotten the shit punched out of him by Jesse and is finally defeated. The ending where you drag his ass back to Beacontown to see the sun just felt so unearned IMO, you only get one mention of 'community service' and a 'redemption arc' rather than the public execution he deserves for dooming countless people below the bedrock to lives of apocalyptic suffering, imprisoning untold numbers of people in hell for centuries and determinately blowing up an entire city. If one were to really push for the redemption arc maybe make it so his crimes were less horrifically heinous or pile on some more mental maladaptive patterns to justify those apart from 'my personality sucks so shit I can't make any friends'? Maybe this is a covert message to the fandom to really lean into the darker aspects of Romeo's character?? This is a narrative adaptation of a block game but you know what I mean

Re: the anon that replied to my anon about Cassie Roses punishment (sorry admin I didn't mean to cause discourse lol)
My point isn't that Cassie Rose would have been fine to skip through the daisies too. She deserves a punishment and should have been kept away from the people she tried to kill. (Yes Romeo apologised but feeling guilt doesn't change people at the drop of the hat, feeling guilty is the start to a long long long process of change, and redemption does not change or alter what you did. There is no guaranteeing that Romeo would stay away from everyone he tried to hurt. Redemption is possible but it would be a long long road. Crime NEEDS to be proportionate no matter if the person is sorry or not. Like ya Romeo accepts the punishment Jesse gives him, but most of the time it's community service and Jesse isn't the only one Romeo has hurt. TLDR I wasn't saying I wanted Romeo to be trapped in the endermite pit or even trying to bash the game, i was trying to crack a joke about Cassie Roses ending and Romeos warcrimes. Anyways I think they should be best friends
Why did this get so long and philisophical 😭😭😭 sorry admin

Re: the anon who mentioned the double standard of how Romeo should have been treated after he was defeated versus Ivor: they both should have had harsher repercussions after their various crimes (jail time), but I would say in total, Romeo committed far more horrifying deeds when you think about the untold lives doomed under the many bedrocked worlds and trapped in eternal prison for pissing him off.
While Ivor did end up causing a crap ton of property destruction, the death toll was relatively scant compared to Romeo's: the people sucked up by the Witherstorm were spat out and returned alive.
So if we're comparing relative sentences, realistically Ivor would have gotten some jail time and needed to do a lot of reparations and repairs with whatever assets he had, but how many life sentences would be piled on top of Romeo?

WELCOME TO THE MCSM CONFESSIONS BLOG. THE INBOX IS OPEN.
~~~
Hello, strangers of the internet. I have decided to open up a Minecraft: Story Mode confessions blog because there hasn't been an active one on here in two years. This confession account is not run by the same person who ran the first one. This is also run separately from the confessions account on Instagram. We are different people.
~~~
Some rules that must be followed for your confessions:
1. Your confession must be related to Minecraft: Story Mode.
2. You confession must be in English, for moderation purposes.
3. Discrimination will not be tolerated. This includes (but is not limited to): homophobia, racism, and ableism.
4. No NSFW or suggestive content.
5. No purposfully inciting drama or discourse. (Introduced May 29) As of July 13, I am also specifying that this blog is not a place to host your beef with specific people in the fandom. And as of July 28, I will extra specify that anonymously bashing people (or their content) is also not okay. As of September 18, please note to avoid using a phrase along the lines of "I want to start discourse."
If your confession fails to abide by all of these rules, it will not be posted.
(Note: I do occasionally make mistakes and poor judgements on these. I am human, but I try my best.)
~~~
All confessions will be tagged as #mcsm confessions, #mcsm, and #minecraft story mode. If any characters are mentioned, they'll be tagged accordingly. Same goes for any ships (for rarepairs, please share the ship name and characters as I may not know them).
I will also add "neg" to tags for posts that are negative against certain characters or ships.
Ex. #mcsm jesse neg
As of May 19, there is a new tag that I'm introducing (and will be adding to earlier posts): #mcsm fandom criticism
because many confessions are addressing things they dislike about the Minecraft: Story Mode fandom.
As of May 21, I'm introducing its opposite: #mcsm fandom praise
for the confessions highlighting things they love and appreciate about the fandom specifically.
As of May 30, I'm introducing the tag:
#mcsm criticism
for confessions that are specifically addressing issues had with Minecraft: Story Mode itself. This includes the writing.
~~~
If there's certain drama or discourse that goes on for long enough, I'll give it it's own tag. If you don't want to see it, block the tag. If you do want to see it, you can just read through posts tagged with it. Here's a list of said tags:
#mcsm petra discourse
#mcsm discord discourse
#mcsm romeo's fate discourse
#mcsm petra sexuality debate
~~~
Sometimes, there's a series of confessions that have a running theme or trend. If there gets to be enough of them, I'll try and tag them too. Here's the list:
#mcsm rip character you would've loved x
#mcsm petra is someone's gay awakening
#mcsm soundtrack appreciation
#mcsm real world objects discussion
~~~
Thank you for reading the rules! Happy confessing!
