you know what. after the initial New Thing Excitement has gone down, I am actually... deeply underwhelmed by this game. like if i wanted to replay breath of the wild (which i do! frequently!) i would... just... replay breath of the wild? the opening segment is step for step a mirror of botw’s opening which makes it super boring, and the way zelda’s role is shaping up so far (ie, again, exactly the same) is genuinely insulting. let her be something other than The Priestess In A Coma for the love of god

#the new powers are cool but they're not cool enough to carry an entire game if u get me #like ganon seems like he could be really interesting but where IS he #i don't care about the soneau either they're just the sheikah with a mesoamerican skin #literally if EVERYTHING ELSE were unchanged but we were playing as zelda to rescue link it would be SO much more interesting but no #the world is a pain to traverse too! i'm not even off the celestial prelude island and i'm already wishing for fast travel!#in botw i literally disabled the fast travel mechanic entirely so i wouldn't accidentally use it. c'mon #maybe it'll gain steam but eh. botw grabbed me from the first moment and held me and this just isn't doing it #this has been a post #chi plays totk #totk spoilers
