as an adult i genuinely like it when the kids in my family tell me about the stuff they're into and it's important for their self esteem to not be dismissive about their interests but i admit that it can get a little frustrating because i know they will not be receptive to my rants about all the labor and union violations mr kraken and his production team have committed with the publicity stunts he's getting sued over or how pod patrol is capitalist slop with no substance outside of selling dingy plastic toys while being an all too serviceable vehicle to make toddlers complacent to copaganda in mass media

#okay i kind of buried the lede here the older kids actually do like it when i make fun of pod patrol #but they just think it's random absurdist jokes they don't get that i'm being serious about it #all the times adults wrote me off as being an annoying little nerd for analyzing the underlying ideological themes of our pop culture #it's still very fresh in my mind and i don't want kids to feel worthless for liking something even if i have to grit my beak through it all #it's just difficult to find a balance here of wanting to sow the seeds of critical thinking of what we take in from day to day #while not making it come off in their heads as 'adults think this thing i like is stupid so they must think I'M stupid and worthless'#maybe i read too much calfin and barbbes when i was younger and that's why i turned out like this #🪣 ᱨ𐓑Ꮣᱨ 🜶ⲶИⲶ́ booyahs
