Was just thinking about the amount of animals Obi-Wan interacts with compared to literally everyone else and in the Clone Wars episode where Kamino gets attacked he literally gets saved twice by the same ray-like animal and just...
The growth from judging Qui-Gon for the 'pathetic lifeforms' he picks up to whatever he has going on during the Clone Wars era. He must have gotten that from Qui-Gon though, right?
And because it's my brain and it's rotting with all the star wars stuff I am consuming I was thinking of Obi-Wan saving all these creatures and the 212th having to deal with that. Surely they made one of the rooms pet proof in case one of them needs a new home. There also have to be clones who love that because of course Obi-Wan can't really take care of rescues on top of all his duties.
After the first few times this happens Cody learns to order animal food and other necessities. And if the Republic doesn't fulfill these requests or asks too many questions he'll just have to make sure to organize them on planet during the campaigns.
#maybe they even keep a tooka or two#for the morale#but seriously#i have been thinking about writing a soft crackfic about this#just the 212th travelling with a whole zoo#already made up my own clones and all#cody is very done but it makes his general happy so who is he to complain?#when the 501st learn about it they start bothering Rex about it#or they ask Anakin ans Ahsoka to do thr same type of Jedi magics#they want pets too can you blame them?#obi wan is pretty oblivious to all of this#he just wants to help!!#and the tenth tooka was looking just *so* sad what was he supposed to do? leave it all alone and sad and scared?#it's just chaos all around#but also so soft#clones don't get a lot of chances to pet any animals during their training and war doesn't really offer these opportunities either#so whenever other battalions work with the 212th and learn about their zoo they get excited#accidental therapy animals for the clones#and the jedi because what better way to find the energy to keep fighting and bonding with an innocent lifeform that gets affected by the war#adoptions go wild#the wolfpack asks Plo for wolves#Plo struggles to say no#star wars#tcw#obi wan kenobi#212th attack battalion#commander cody#accidental animal acquisition#I just remembered vaguely that in one of the Jedi Apprentice books Obi Wan has a bird on his shoulder??#maybe he didn't get this from Qui Gon after all though I'm sure Qui Gon encouraged and reinforced that behaviour

Whumpril Day 14: Holding back tears/"I said I'm fine."
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Notes: Bear with me. I hate dialogue. Also no beta reader we die like Mayday.
Mando'a used: Cyara: Love. Vod: Sibling
Summary: An unwanted visitor comes to the planet the 212th is on. After being separated from the others Cody and Obi-wan talk.
Obi-wan knew something was wrong when his commander and him had been separated from the others. What was worse was Darth Maul's looming presence. He wanted, more than anything, to keep his soldiers safe. Unfortunately the sith would have other plans.
Cody followed Obi-wan closely. They had gotten lost before, got separated from the others before. Why this time was so different, he didn't know. Obi-wan wasn't outwardly panicked but the man saw right through him. Cody tried to assure him that everything was going to be fine but he didn't seem convinced.
It felt like the two were wandering around aimlessly. Time passed and suddenly Obi-wan felt a disturbance in the force. Fear. Fear was followed by pain and death. It was familiar as in war it practically surrounded him.
Tears started to gather in his eyes. Once more Obi-wan had failed to protect the people he cared about. He failed to protect them over and over. Qui-gon, Satine, all the innocents that got caught in the crossover were gone and maybe if he had been stronger he could have saved them.
Obi-wan's pace started to quicken; not that he hadn't already been walking quickly. Cody took a few larger steps to get in front of the other. "What's going on?" He demanded. "We've been separated from the battalion before, what's nothing you.?" He came off rather harsh, though it wasn't attended to be that way.
Then he saw the tears that Obi-wan tried to keep from escaping his eyes. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." The Jedi pushed past the clone.
"No you're not. W-"
"I said I'm fine!" For the first time Obi-wan snapped at him. The man stopped walking.
"No you're not." Cody remanded calm. "What's going on? What are you not telling me?"
"Maul" he whispered, "it's Maul. I know I'm not supposed to be, but I'm scared, Cody; I'm scared of him. I can't save them, I've never been able to save them from him." Obi-wan started to walk again. "That doesn't mean I won't try." A few tears crawled their way out of his eyes.
Cody wasn't sure what to say. "Cyara, we'll find them. It'll be okay." Words slowly formed, "it's not your fault."
"He's here to hurt me Cody. Not physically. He already found some of the men."
Cody's fear rose. He loved his vods. "We find Maul. I'm not sure what to do from there but we have to do something." The clone was almost walking faster than Obi-wan now.
"Just try to stay close."
The two would walk to find Maul. Rather it was their last fight together they didn't know. Both were terrified, for the path in front of them was unknown. Whatever it was, they would face it together.
They wouldn't find Maul. The message had been delivered. No where was safe. The commanding officers helped the injured. The Jedi informed the council that someone else would have to be sent to the planet.
Tears would border his eyes once more, not brave enough to move any closer. They would betray him if they moved any closer. The Jedi are supposed to care for everything, but this would be different. His emotion needed to stay known to him and him only.
After the call he still couldn't let the tears fall. Obi-wan's men needed a strong leader. He walked out of the woods to the clearing the soldiers rested in. Now to take care of the aftermath of a man's hatred.

Crawling out of my cave for one more round.......
Eh, for that I'd have to subscribe to the idea that they didn't work at all in the outer rim as hard canon, which I don't. See I'm far too fond of Quinlan Vos. A character that has grown across multiple continuities from a random tall dark and handsome guy in the background on Tatooine in the phantom menace to beloved star of my heart. What exactly was he doing on Tatooine? Who knows, he is mysterious as the dark side of the moon. He works in the shadows. Why did he not interact with Qui Gon in TPM? Aside from the fact that he wasn't really a character then… maybe he was in deep cover. Maybe he had whole networks of lives on the line. Maybe he was helping an underground railroad. Maybe he was rescuing toddlers from the jaws of death while I Need A Hero played in the soundtrack
(it's not like there being no activity in the outer rim is an unfair extrapolation from just the film, mind, it's not just not a given. "the republic doesn't exist out here"- Shmi. "i didn't come here to free slaves"- Qui Gon. But Shmi did say the republic and can hardly be omniscient, and Qui Gon was talking about himself, as a guy on an entirely different mission with a ship full of political refugees being actively hunted down who ended up stranded entirely by accident on random planet number however many thousand that he nevertheless knew enough about to be the giver of exposition to the literal ruler of a neighboring planet and now that I think about it, that's sort of funny. The film is pretty clear on the jedi not being able to maintain justice across the entire galaxy, for sure, but it also doesn't argue that they don't do anything at all, and there's a pretty big difference between doing nothing and doing a bit, in my book.)
Anyway, on Mandalore. Is there an implication that Mandalore at that time wasn't worthy of aid? Obi Wan is sometimes loose with the truth, but even if he was exaggerating when he said that most of Satine's people were killed in the civil war, that's still a major level of brutality and civilian death. If more than half a world's population is getting killed, that's a huge crisis and tragedy. Is that alone not enough of a motive?
And then let's consider Deathwatch, the major faction that was active at that time. We get to know deathwatch in tcw. We see how they operate- they conquer a settlement, steal all their resources, kidnap all the young girls as hostages and force them to serve them. It's dark as shit. And they are explicitly imperial revivalists. I'm going to make a silly comparison, but imagine if like. Britain was in a civil war, and there was an army of far right extremists who were gaining ground in a reign of terror under a banner of rebuilding the british empire, with like maps of imperial britain on their flags and plans to take back the colonies etc etc. Would it be politically motivated to protect the leaders of the opposition to that when they were in exile with assassins after them? Sure. But like. Maybe the rest of the world doesn't want to have to deal with an attempt at british empire number 2.0, if they won their internal war. And I would say that's fair enough, actually. So maybe the "potential resource" they would gain is not having an army of mandalorians trying to invade planets and enslave people in 10 years time.
Intervention is a tricky thing though. We're all familiar with the damage missionaries can do, and with how 'soft power' is often exploitative. If this were a history book, the basic assumption would be that there's very little altruism in politics. But this is a story. The thing about Satine and Obi Wan is that we get a strong sense, from the very first arc about them, that Satine is not a client queen/puppet/corrupt and Obi Wan is not there to manipulate her on the chancellors behalf. This is, in fact, the plot of those three episodes. Satine is fiercely protective of Mandalorian independence, does trust the jedi as long as they're acting as an independent body, and Obi Wan actively helps her thwart not only deathwatch, but also Chancellor Palpatine's scheme to get Mandalore under his control. He explicitly does not subvert Mandalore on behalf of those controlling the republic.
And now I'm going to invite you to imagine Quinlan again. Standing on a sand dune, a breeze ruffling his hood, gazing out into the soft light of dawn, with a face that could have been chiseled by the gods,
Okay so I’m thinking about how Satine’s initial reaction to Obi Wan’s visit is really hostile until he explains he’s there on behalf of the jedi council, not the republic, causing her to immediately relax. How that whole arc is about her resisting republic attempts to encroach on Mandalore and the neutral system’s sovereignty and independence, and how she is so consistently insistent on that. And I’m thinking about Obi Wan’s description of his year on Mandalore during their civil war- how they were ‘living hand to mouth,’ aka they had little to no funding or resources for the mission, and also just the simple fact that… as far as I know Mandalore isn’t in the republic so how they operate there is fundamentally different to how they would operate on a republic planet?
So anyway I’m now convinced that that mission was not affiliated with or funded by the republic. This was a jedi operate independently sometimes sort of situation.
#i didn't know where to insert this additional sentence: also when it comes to varying levels of intervention#protecting the life of a political opponent or activists in a conflict against assassination#is a different kind of intervention to like. carrying out a covert coup. for example.#and there's reason to think that this was not something that was held over satine by the jedi. because of the episodes of tcw.

I've been thinking. Would Anakin and Padme actually be good parents?????
Like, think about this realistically.
Anakin already has a kark ton of problems. For one, he does NOT know how to love unpossessively. Two, he is already super controlling and kinda toxic(?).
If he leaves the Jedi Order to be with Padme and the twins, he would never learn the difference between attachment and love.
(And yes there is a freaking difference. Love is when you care about someone to the point where you want them to be happy, even if it's not with you. Attachment is when you 'love' someone so much that you can't stand the thought of that person being with someone else that isn't you. There is a very clear difference. Even George Lucas said it in a few interviews.)
Like, I'm pretty sure Obi-Wan tried to teach Anakin the difference, but Anakin just never understood it or didn't want to accept it. Anakin wasn't raised in the Temple. He wasn't taught Jedi beliefs and the difference between love and attachment on a daily basis by the creche masters. Instead, he had been freed from slavery, separated from his mother, Qui-Gon got killed, and he experienced a MASSIVE culture shock once he was accepted into the Temple, and he had been paired with an (although good) unwilling master AKA Obi-Wan who only accepted Anakin as his student because of Qui-Gon's final words.
Yes, I know, they do eventually develop an actual strong relationship, but the main reason Obi-Wan fought for Anakin to become his padawan in the first place was because of Qui-Gon. The only reason why Anakin was even accepted into the Order was because of Qui-Gon and later, Obi-Wan's insistence to keep his promise to Qui-Gon.
(Also? Really Qui-Gon? You had nothing to say to your Padawan who was basically your son? Even when you appeared in the Clone Wars, you hardly even cared about Obi-Wan, you just obsessing over Anakin. Like, I get that he's the 'Chosen One' or whatever, but I don't care. You don't treat your apprentice/son like that. And then you had the audacity to force a guilty and crying Obi-Wan who was holding your dying body to promise to train Anakin Skywalker, who Obi-Wan didn't even like for that matter? Like? Bish, you ungrateful nerfherder.)
As I said, Anakin doesn't understand how to love like securely and non-possessively. He was probably taught it by Obi-Wan and the rest of the Jedi, but that information clearly went through one ear and straight out the other.
Maybe Anakin would be a good parent for the first few years of Leia and Luke's lives, but the moment puberty hits? BAM! Helicopter parent right there!
This mainly concerns Leia because in Anakin's mind, she's a girl, she's not a trained force-sensitive, so she can't protect herself, and she's HIS daughter, she shouldn't do this or that, she can't have this or that. She can't have male friends, she can't hang out with any guys, etc. Because Anakin doesn't want Leia to not spend time with him or not be there constantly. He's controlling and he wants to control her life. Like I said, she is HIS daughter, not her own person (scroll all the way to the bottom for an explanation). He'd likely refuse to let Leia go to any parties, talk to any boys, or even have a basic social life.
Things might be a little different for Luke. Anakin might not be as controlling but will still be controlling to some degree.
Moreover, Padme would NOT reign him in or even stop him. She's already shown in AOTC and ROTS that she is perfectly willing to make excuses for any and all of Anakin's bad terrible decisions even though the evidence is right there in front of her face.
Like, she seriously tryna make me believe that killing a ton of innocent people in the Tusken village is good? Sure, maybe SOME of them might have deserved it, but all of them? No, they didn't, especially not the poor innocent kids. Like, Padme, is you good in thy head or not? You ain't see no red flags?🚩🚩🚩 anybody?
Also, in ROTS, she knows that Anakin is fully capable and willing to kill innocent people if he believes someone he loves is in danger/dead, but when Obi-Wan tells her what Anakin did in the Temple to the Younglings, she tryna act all slick like, "I don't be knowing what you talkin about", even though she clearly does. She seen Anakin confess what he did to the Tuskens and now she tryna lie? And on her death bed, she tryna convince me and Obi-Wan that Darth Vader is still good, like, did the dude NOT just strangle you and kill a bunch of innocent people?
I may be dumb, but I'm not THAT dumb, okay? I understand what murder is. Anakin just straight up shanked all of the Jedi in the Temple with the 501st.
Like, bruh, I get you smart and all, Padme, and you a senator and all, but I don't know if have any more brain cells than I do money when it comes to Anakin. And I have 0 dollars right now.
So, like, no, I don't think Padme would stop Anakin in the slightest. She'd probably make more excuses for him, like "that's how he shows his love for you" or "just get over it, Leia" or even "he's your father, let him do what he wants".
In short, the freaking helicopter parenting would continue and Luke and Leia are gonna be trapped because they ain't no trained Jedi. They can't do shit and they are still minors.
Leia/Luke might even run away from home or even Fall (*extreme case**very extreme and unlikely but still possible*) 'cause they are force-sensitive y'know.
Freaking Court might even get involved. Some lawyers might also be called up. Luke and Leia better make sure to dial the numbers of some therapists for their parents, too, and also maybe a mind healer. Neither of your parents are straight in their heads.
Anyways, none of yall gotta agree with me 'cause this is just my opinion, but at least look at it from my point of view first before you hate on me in the comments. Like, I really hope that Anakin and Padme would be good parents but I just don't see it working out (????).
I hghly recommend this fanfic for any interested reader. It explains the problems of helicopter parenting from Anakin very nicely, so please read it. Also, please read some of the comments.
There's more!!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Let me share something:
"A desperate parent hovers; a good parent guides."
Every parent needs to learn to let go of their kids eventually. The kids are going to leave the nest sooner or later and the parent needs to understand this.
Maybe, during the first 15 years or so, the parent can hover, but once that kid starts wanting to be independent, you gotta start giving that kid some space.
Like a bird, they gotta spread their wings and they can't do that if they stay cooped up in the nest for the rest of their lives. No baby bird is gonna fly immediately after they gain their wings and feathers. They gotta stretch them out first, do a few practice runs, and then they'll finally know how to fly.
Same thing for your kids. If they want independence but you know that they can't handle it yet, just give it to them. They gotta learn somehow. They gotta practice. And you just gotta be there to catch them if they fall.
You can stop hovering and instead start guiding. Because your son/daughter isn't just YOUR child anymore—they're becoming their own person and you need to realize and accept that. They're becoming an adult and your equal, so you gotta stop treating them like they're just your kid. Bc they're both your kid and their own person and you gotta realize that.
You can't keep your kids in the nest forever. Sooner or later, they're gonna rebel against your hovering and they'll cut you out of their lives bc you're being a toxic influence on them and they know it. Then, despite all your desperate hovering to keep your kids safe and in the nest, YOU are going to be the reason why your kids don't want you in their lives anymore.
You just gotta let go.
Yes, you can hover like a desperate parent for the first ten and a half years of your kids' lives, but eventually you're gonna have to stop doing that. Because they aren't dumb ten year olds anymore that need your constant hovering. Now they're teens and now they're adults who are experiencing the real world.
And the only thing you can do is accept that your kid has grown up. Or they will grow up. Or they are growing up.
You just need to cross the line from hovering to guiding.
You gotta let go of the bike sometime and let your kid ride on their own without the training wheels.
You just gotta cross that line. Maybe it'll be a little hard, but when was parenting ever easy? I know that it'll hurt to have to let your kids go, but you just gotta trust them.
You have already spent the last nearly two decades loving them, caring for them, and teaching them all you know. You just have to hope that they'll keep your lessons and teachings close to their hearts and that they'll listen to the occasional advice or two.
You just gotta trust your kid and your parenting skills, and cross that line.
Your son/daughter has become their own person. And the only thing you can do is be there for them, be ready to support them, be ready to give some of your wisdom, and trust that they'll succeed.
For helicopter parents, however, they never cross that line between hovering and guiding, and I'm not sure Anakin would be able to either.

ROOMIES: OBI-WAN X ANAKIN SKYWALKER AU
a/n: also availible on Wattpad
•PART ONE•
Obi-Wan comes home from a long lecture to find his new roomie, Anakin making himself more than comfortable in his dorm room.
Obi Wan's world was small and his dorm room was even smaller. But, he liked it that way, and he liked it even more that he didn't have a roomie to bug him and mess up his system. His system was messy but he knew where everything was in the mess. He was a star pupil and did everything by the rules, he didn't want to risk his place by doing something reckless.
Obi-Wan had just had the longest lecture of the day, he didn't know someone could talk for so long. He was tired and it was only going to take one small thing to push him over the edge.
As he walked up to the door leading to his dorm room, he noticed it was open and there was a van parked outside. Please no, he thought. Obi-Wan thought he was the only one with a spare bed in his dorm, but he hoped that wasn't true. Maybe someone was moving out... he looked around as he walked inside, peaking into each room suspiciously.
Obi-Wan then walked up the stairs, straining his ears to hear any sign of movement. All seemed to be clear, perhaps he had gotten it wrong, maybe no one was moving in or out. He reached his door, it was unlocked but he didn't think anything of it as he was too clouded in hope. When he stepped into his room, which was painted in a brilliant blue, he froze.
"Who are you?" Obi-Wan asked, his mouth hanging open slightly from anger as he eyed the person in front of him.
"Anakin," the young man said, he was significantly younger than Obi-Wan, and his dark hair and piercings only highlighted that. Anakin began looking through Obi Wan's things that were placed on what was now Anakin's bed. Most of it consisted of motorcycle magazines and odd drawings. Anakin looked at them unimpressed and threw them onto Obi Wan's side of the room.
"Do you mind?!" Obi-Wan said, picking up the things he had thrown.
"No not really," Anakin said, throwing the rest of the stuff at Obi-Wan, who attempted to catch most of it and succeeded. This slightly impressed Anakin, though he didn't let on. "Not used to sharing?" He asked.
"Well-" Obi-Wan stuttered, "I've never had a roomie, and I liked it that way," he said not worrying about hurting his feelings because frankly, Anakin had no right to barge in and throw his weight around as he had. Anakin nodded and scoffed but didn't say anything. Obi-Wan stood watching him with his hands on his hips looking rather aggravated.
The was a quick knock on the door before it opened, their dorm supervisor, Qui-Gon Jinn entered. He looked rather surprised to see Obi-Wan home so early in the day. "Ah Obi-Wan your home," Qui-Gon said.
"I do live here," he said, then cleared his throat, "can you tell me what's going on?"
"Anakin is our new student," Qui-Gon smiled and gestured to Anakin.
"He looks a little young to be a student," Obi-Wan said, though he managed to say it in a way that wasn't offensive. Qui-Gon glared at Obi-Wan, Anakin smirked seeing this, "welcome," Obi-Wan muttered to Anakin.
"Will you show Anakin around and show him the ropes and so on?" Qui-Gon asked though Obi-Wan knew there wasn't a choice in the matter.
"Yep, sure," Obi-Wan said, attempting a smile. Qui-Gon soon left Obi-Wan and Anakin to get to know each other further but neither were interested in that. "Do-do you take that out when you eat or..." Obi-Wan motioned to Anakin's lip piercing.
"No," Anakin laughed. After a moment he questioned Obi Wan's name. "You seem too boring to have a name like that."
Obi-Wan just stared at him in disbelief, this boy really had some nerve coming into his home and being this rude, "you don't have any manners do you?" Obi-Wan shot at him.
"I'm going to call you Ben," Anakin said,
"And I'm going to call you Arsehole," Obi-Wan huffed, leaving his dorm room.
Obi-Wan didn't come back until later that day and he hoped Anakin wasn't there. Unfortunately, he was, and he had taken to reading his motorcycle magazines. "Your back late," Anakin said, peaking over the magazine.
"I hoped you wouldn't be in," Obi-Wan said honestly.
Anakin gave Obi-Wan a look that translated as 'that's fair'. "Well, I don't know where anything is, do I?" Anakin shrugged, turning the page of the magazine.
"Right," Obi-Wan huffed, "I'll show you around tomorrow," he said with a trace of guilt in his voice.
The next morning Obi-Wan woke to find Anakin's bed empty. He breathed a sigh of relief and went about with his morning routine. His routine mainly focused on his hair, he took pride in his golden locks.
He went into the kitchen and dining. area for some breakfast, choosing his favourite cereal to start the day. As he sat on the table, ready to eat he heard footsteps. He turned around and saw Anakin walk into the kitchen with headphones on. Anakin said, "Ben," rather grumpily.
"Anakin," Obi-Wan grunted, looking down at his cereal. It didn't look so appetising now Anakin had spoiled his mood. It looked rather soggy.
Anakin fell back onto the sofa and began drinking his coffee. "Is there any place you want to see today?" Obi-Wan asked politely, knowing he was going to have to make an effort at some point otherwise Qui-Gon would find out. Anakin didn't answer and instead turned his music up, looking rather sorry for himself. Obi-Wan guessed that way 'his thing'.
Obi-Wan dropped his spoon in the bowl with a clank, "did you just turn that up?"
Anakin smirked and let out a laugh, pulling his headphones off his head. Obi-Wan didn't want to admit that he found his smirk rather attractive. "I'm just messing with you," Anakin said, turning off the music. Obi-Wan waited for another smirk or laugh but nothing happened. Anakin got up and sat next to Obi-Wan at the table, "I think campus is a good place to start?" he suggested, referring back to his previous question.
"Sure," Obi-Wan said, finishing his cereal.
"Then maybe something to eat after?" Anakin suggested with a different tone to his voice; it was suggestive and playful. Obi-Wan was drawn in by that.

*SPOILERS*
Surpise! Reva was one of the younglings from the Order 66 scene in episode one.....not really, cause it was obvious. I mean many people figured it out, cause why else would that scene be shown. 😒 Y'know, that flashback is probably the closest to actually showing Anakin killing children.
Also, this once again proves that getting killed by getting stabbed or sliced with a lightsaber is bullcrap now. Like, many characters survive from that, hell, Darth Maul got sliced in half and fell into a pit and survived in Clone Wars. Reva? She had to have gotten stabbed as well, in order to play dead. Otherwise, how could she play dead right in front of Anakin? And, I guess you can't use the force to sense if someone is dead apparently, even though many Jedi sensed others getting killed when Order 66 happened. So, how did Reva survive? Was she not fatally wounded like all the other younglings? How did she get healed? What did she do after she survived? Seriously, the only ones in live action that died from getting stabbed were Qui-Gon and Han Solo.
Then there's her plan which is why she became an Inquisitor. We don't know exactly when she was taken in, but it could've been years or weeks later. But, she became an Inquisitor to get close to Vader to kill him in order to avenge her Jedi family.....yeah, that's not gonna work. It's not just because Vader is an OT character, but Reva's not strong enough to beat him. Plus, if they're setting a redemption arc for Reva, I'm not buying it. Do I feel sorry for her for losing her family and friends? Yes. Do I think that she needs to be redeemed? I don't think so. In the show, she cut off a lady's hand for talking back, she traumatized and tried to torture a child, orchestrated a kidnapping of said child, and is gonna let innocent people and children die for the sake of getting her revenge. Hell, in the years of her being an Inquisitor, she must've murdered innocents as well if it was to keep up the act and maintain her revenge plan. I don't think the ends justify the means with Reva, and she sure as hell hasn't acted like she regretted what she did or felt any guilt over hurting anyone. Maybe she felt a little guilty of trying to torture Leia, but she still went through with it. The only remorse I've seen so far was what she felt when the younglings were killed in Order 66.
Then there's her asking those questions to Obi-Wan. "Where were you?" "Why didn't you save us?", etc. etc. Like, Obi-Wan has thought about those questions for ten freaking years, possibly every night, and beating himself over what happened! Also, Obi-Wan was also attacked by the clones on another planet when Order 66 happened! I get why Reva blamed Obi-Wan and doesn't trust him, but this is just beating him up even more than he already is.

Oh, of course, Sierra, but be careful what you ask for~
*I pull you close and lay you in my lap. I start infodumping as I scratch your head and stroke your hair*
It came in six bags. The first bag was just the base and was pretty similar to the other diorama builds. Have you seen those? I really like the Dagobah one, but the trash compactor is also really cool. Well this one has a Qui-Gon quote on it that my childhood piggy bank said. It didn't store a lot of money though.
* At this point, I've started caressing your shoulders and tracing lines in your skin with my nails. You feel my touch all over and a tingle courses through you.*
Bag two was mostly just setting up the core of the rock wall in the back and doing some detail work on the ground. Behind the scenes stuff is nice, but it's usually pretty simple. Bag three was building out the wall and making it look rocky. That was fun to bring together. It was building a lot of separate panels and attaching them to the core. The canyon track was a composite of model practical effects, cgi rocks, and real-world shots from Tunisia. The course was built for the movie to fit a certain length. They added details and obstacles to make it interesting, but they also did time tests to see how many laps could be done in eight minutes at 900 km/h.
*You realize you can't get up. You can barely move. I'm not holding you down, but something is keeping you here. I am unaware or indifferent to your struggle. More focused on Star Wars.*
Bags four and five were Anakin and Sebulba's podracers. I enjoyed putting them together. They've got some nice detail for their scale and even had stickers. I'm not the best at putting them on straight, but I think they looked good. After the race, Qui-Gon sold Anakin's podracer, but I bet you didn't know that he sold it to Sebulba, who raced with it for a while. He eventually gave it to his son, who ended up racing it and crashing it against Anakin in an illegal race about halfway between Episode I and II.
*Are you still listening? Am I even still talking? It's almost as if you can feel the words just entering your mind. You're not sure where the lines between us are anymore. You've lost the desire to even struggle. Why fight how things have always been? It has always been like this, right?*
Bag six was building the rock arch on the left. It's offset and angled because it's on turntable pieces. That was fun. There was a time they would have frowned on that for being off "system" though now I see builds with interesting and slightly fucked up uses of pieces every once in a while. Cad Bane's ship The Justifier has a really funky engine detail where thin pieces are held between the circles of normal bricks.
*The image just manifests in your mind. Or is it my mind. Our mind? Flesh fused fascinatingly forever. I've finished talking about this set, but now I've sequed into another piece of Star Wars trivia. You relax and join the others within me. Maybe tomorrow I can get lost in you talking about something?*
Triumphant trans tummy tuesday y'all. Featuring my two newest LEGO babies. Built them on stream yesterday for way too long.

"wait-- so you've been here for months too? and we just.. we haven't seen each other at all? did you lose your memories too or was it only me who got stuck with this little gift." the words were nothing but pure sarcasm, using it to help cover up the small parts of her that still wanted to just check her phone, to see if qui gon had texted her. she was sure he'd be worried, and while she knew she shouldn't care anymore, he was the kriffing energy now, she couldn't shake the desire to just reach out and reassure him. he had been her father for years, it was hard to shake that feeling now. but at least aunt kore seemed to understand how all of this magic shit worked, so it would be far easier to fix anyone else in the family if they lost their memories too. "i was only sometimes a brat!" a lie. "sure he can be happy but we know how dad is. he's gonna keep pouting about it, even if he says he's fine. can't you tell him to be chill when he shows up?" she was sure that eventually her father would be over it, that he would move on after a while and things would be normal. but the reunion was something she was almost dreading, just from the unknown. "maybe it's even.. but don't tell him i said that." vesta added, pointing over to her aunt, not wanting to immediately concede on her own grudge. "i'm sorry i pushed you too. but you have to admit, you were all being weird. i think the pushing was justified. at least it didn't get too out of control and i started choking you or something." vesta had never not had control over the force, so the idea that they could have been using it with no memories of training was.. concerning. "are they at least cute, because if you're going to lower your standards that much, she better be pretty.. in that like.. jedi way." god, the idea of having to ever be around a jedi in case they were here at aunt kore's-- it made her skin crawl. "what, is your main goal sending their master to the dark side?" that'd be too funny to pass up. but knowing death wasn't real here, that people would return, vesta stopped for a moment, feeling their face turn somber, eyes nearly pleading. "wait.. if people can come back from the dead in the city.. does that-- the person who looked like her.. was that really aunt aly? she's here?" it was one of the last things they remembered, their aunt not coming home that day. it still felt like a hole was in their heart whenever it passed her mind. "i learned it from you, though!" she stuck her tongue out at her, happy to change the subject a little. "are there materials to make a new one? i don't want to be without it for that long.." she huffed, afraid that she already knew the answer. "i'll keep the knife on me.. or-- maybe i can borrow your like whip saber? do you have that too? pleeeaaaase?"
"look, things here are messed up. i'd swear on my life i saw you less than a year ago, still a child, and now you're all grown up and remember a decade without me. i've accepted that this magic, at least, is not something i'll likely get an explanation for. sometimes, from what i know, being persistent like that does manage to get through to people. it might have worked eventually." kore attempted to explain, clearly not thrilled that so much of their current existence was a giant question mark, and not even one that had the potential to be figured out with time, given what little she did know about this place. "people can feel more than one thing at a time, he can be happy to see you, and also pissed that you've been an absolute brat the last month. he's petty, but he loves you." she wasn't going to pretend eros wouldn't be a complete bitch about it all, he tended to do that, but she knew he wouldn't legitimately be too upset with vesta after everything. "you could've blinded him, he tossed you a few feet into a wall, i think you're about even. no harm done on either side, really." though there was nothing but affection in her tone at the all too familiar complaining from the younger girl. "i know it was. which is why i just pulled you back over to me, rather than throwing you like your father did." the sith laughed, reaching over to pat vesta on the head. "you'll get over it as soon as i take you shopping and you get your way." she was sure that was true, she knew vesta far too well at this point. "i can make exceptions when it's fun. it's been a few months and they're already claiming they love me. it's got her master right on the edge." and honestly, the amusement she got out of it was worth lowering her standards just a bit. "none. works to our advantage too, obviously. if anything happens to one of ours we can regroup and deal with it. we'll sort it out as we go." another thing she didn't like, being unable to plan, but this one was a sacrifice she was willing to make, if it saved her mother and best friend's lives. "i can't say the same about your overconfidence, vesta." she laughed, nearly snorting at her niece's demeanor. really, she was too easy, and it was nice to see, that after so long dealing with some other version of vesta, and even longer missing her, that she was still the same kid at heart. "...i worried that'd be the case. we'll sort something more efficient for you soon, but this should tide you over." she was sure if it came down to it, they could sort some materials and get vesta a better weapon. "good girl."

"wait, what? no i've been with him since i was a kid. kinda why i was so intense about telling you guys to fuck off, it's not like i just.. appeared there out of nowhere, i remember growing up with him. besides, sure, you guys didn't know, but don't you think the minute i told you i didn't know you, you three should've chilled out?" she knew her family was just doing what they thought was best, and what they understood too. aly and dad weren't exactly well versed in the city, not like it seemed kore was. "he's gonna be so mad about it, he might tell you and aunt aly that he's happy but i'm gonna get that kriffing side eye for like.. weeks. you know it as well as i do." she wasn't in trouble often, but the times that she was, it was usually her father who held out the longest about it. "okay, well, dad was freaking me out. and i did warn him i was gonna spray him. but then he threw me into a wall! so much worse than just pepper spray." vesta knew it was justified, but she learned how to pout and complain just as well as eros. "throwing you was an accident, though, aunt kore! i didn't know i could even do that!" she pointed out, huffing as she rolled her eyes. "i cannot believe my own family plotted my murder. the betrayal-- i don't think i'll ever recover." so, maybe she was playing it up. she'd spent years being the good kid, living by too many rules-- she'd needed to let all the dramatics out at some point. "ew, you're fucking a jedi? i thought you had standards." vesta's nose scrunched at the idea, shaking her head. "and they didn't stay dead? that's a pity.. so there's like.. no way to keep someone down around here?" she did wonder what would happen should her fath-- should qui gon die again, if he would remember her as his child or not, but still. "paranoia looks good on you, aunt kore." she rolled her eyes, still holding out that she would've been able to snap out of it before befriending ceres, but that was because vesta refused to accept that she had any flaws. "gimme, gimme." her hands reached out to grab the box from her aunt with a grin, nearly vibrating as she ripped the knife from it's casing, holding it in her hands to examine it. "i don't have my saber." vesta said after a beat, the admittance of that feeling like acid on her tongue. "fine fine, i'll let you worry about me. thank you for the present, it's beautiful."
"this magic is... extremely weird, because i met qui-gon jinn a few months ago, and he certainly didn't have a daughter then. and in our defense, none of us had any idea you'd forgotten, what reason did we have to be subtle?" she certainly understood vesta's angle of things as well, but that didn't mean she was going to apologize for being happy to see her beloved niece after so long. "it's not optimism, it's reality. i know your dad can be a bit of a bitch, but he'll be happy to have you back. i never said he wouldn't lecture you. and he didn't tell me, but you did. you also told me you pepper sprayed him, so... i don't feel much sympathy, hon. and i only used it on you after you threw me, in case you forgot about that bit." she teased, a smirk crossing her face at the young girls dramatics. she'd missed that particular trait, rather than the bratty attitude she'd been getting the last few weeks. "he knew this was the plan, he just thought it'd be longer before i got fed up, so you can lie to him all you want, it won't work." as if she'd ever been one to drag out someone's death, barring the incident at the temple. a quick execution was far more efficient. "i haven't killed anyone yet, but there's some pathetic little jedi i've been fooling around with who got murdered during all that nonsense right before i found you. she forgot everything about our world when they woke up, and that's what happened to qui-gon jinn as well, from what i heard." kore rolled her eyes, shaking her head in response. "i think you certainly would have, and i was not taking that risk." a snort left the sith's lips at the sudden eagerness from vesta when she was given a gift. she really hadn't changed at all. "it may be, you little gremlin. do you even know where your saber is right now?" she could forgive losing it under these circumstances, but she needed to at least give her a little bit of shit for it. "not if you trusted them as much as you had, i'm not going to apologize for worrying about you, so you can give up now."
