hemlo!! thank ya'll so so much for enjoying this lil comic series!! i know it's been a year since the first part, but most importantly i finished it 💀✨️

every single tags ya'll leave on me posts and past questions i recieve about this au is super appreciated, they make me smile the widest you have no clue!! im just a lil mad at myself that i couldn't expand on this au more so yall could have had more crumbs. irl stuff happened + still getting the hang of drawing and socializing again after years of doing neither of those 😭

but still, im glad i could share this comfort comic i made for myself, and for you guys too. it's a pretty personal one despite the characters not being mine 😅 i hope that you can walk away from this story believing (entirely or not) that someone out there still thinks of you, whether they're from a late/absent loved one who still wants the best for you or a dear friend who will make room in their hearts for you. life will never not be hard, but if you keep them close to your heart, adulting will be bearable 🫂

I think they are supposed to be twins???

(maybe originally in the concept art, but in canon it seems they aren't anymore? dion has been stated to be the oldest, but my thoughts are maybe like he's the older twin lmao. i will probably be 100% wrong if there is ever a future installment in this series.)

Funny story, I originally wanted to color these sketches, but I found that most of my traditional art supplies are unusable (the pencil colors has a very faded color, and most of my markers have a diluted yellow coloring lmaoooo ToT). I haven't been using them from 2019 and it really shows.

Insane over the awakening trio again. We fought a war together, saved each other multiple times, and I know for a fact I can trust you with my life. We have never learned to socialize normally so we can't interact in a normal environment for five seconds without dunking on each other. I would follow you through time and space and abandon everything with you. You are the living reminder of every awful thing that have ever happened to me. Our traumas make us hurt each other at every turn. We're the only ones who know what lead to each other becoming Like That. Our jobs are barely in the same area and we don't even hang out that much outside of necessities. You are all I have left. I cannot fucking understand you. I am the only one in this entire world who has the ability to even try to.

Do Not Associate.#i think of this for so many of the awakening kids in general but like. they all travel through time together. they go through something lik #the future past DLC together. their lives depend on each other so much. most of them cannot stand each other.#inigo and owain Do Not fucking get along and never have really until fates when they're both adults and even then they're ribbing each othe #there's no doubt to me that they have gotten into a physical fight at least once before. or they avoid each other and are extremely rude #when forced to work together outside life or death scenarios. especially pre-awakening.#in their supports owain tries to be nice to severa repeatedly and she goes out of her way to be extra rude to the point #that he has a crises about being weird. and even if their s support isnt' canon #severa notes that owain was always nice to her and she struggled with being nice back throughout their lives #inigo and severa don't get along either. inigo is trying to be “nice”/build his confidence of talking to others with compliments #but he's genuinely condescending and quite rude and doesn't listen to severa telling him to stop talking to her like that.#note: severa actively goes out of her way to be mean to a lot of people back then. she's not easy to get along with.#(interestingly she tells noire she only does this to take people down a peg and doesn't do it to people with no self esteem like noire.#(similar to niles in a way. to be explored later.)#These people are Not Close and they are not each other's first choices to hang out. and they probably were aware of each other in #childhood but much more aware when they're older. owain's childhood friends were probably the Justice Cabal.#severa canonically hung with noire tot he point where noire grew up relying on her. i suspect she hung with the girls most of all #inigo... i'm not sure he has any close childhood friends. which could be attributed to maybe (a) living in Regna Ferox with Olivia #if you believe they went with basilio after the first war #or maybe learning early on to hide his real self early on so he never lets anyone get close. he clearly Cares about everyone in a #'won't let anyone die if he can help it/won't let them die alone (gerome/owain)' kind of way #but is he Close with them? I don't think so. not until Awakening and he has A supports

#post: 2025 reading thread #hello coconation i am trying to get back into the swing of things!!#i have knocked off 3/25 books on my 25 in 2025 list so far <3 #i can see why people love writers & lovers! and i think the way lily king wrote about grief really resonated with me #i really liked casey as a character but sometimes i was very frustrated with her i'm not going to lie!#the art of memory collecting ... unfortunately i fell victim to craftok's influences ... and i do not think it really taught me anything ne #but it is very pretty and i'm sure i'll look at it if i need inspo or something ... in the future ... at some point. ... maybe.#tom lake. wow oh my. my first ann patchett and i adored it; a beautifully written book made even better by meryl streep's audio narration #slower paced than what i'd normally enjoy but i never lost interest + honestly felt like one of the girls themselves #just sitting and listening to a story of my mom's past + trying to figure out what was next and trying to get a better understanding of her #and her choices it was just so brilliant and i loved it so #and then of course i had to reread our town <333333 #(and also watch the 1940 film after that but that is not the point here)#i also want to say that it is very clear that ann patchett loves our town + molded tom lake around it in a very careful + tender way #and then i read beloved by toni morrison and i had chills the entire time and it was brilliant & i will be thinking about it for a long tim

Ok but to take the idea of the Kingdom in botw-totk seriously for a second. “Kingdom” means different things in botw vs totk:

In botw, an actual State existed with government and systems etc and when ppl sigh wistfully over it, they’re thinking of the protections offered by that hegemony, but it’s been a hundred years and they don't remember everything that that meant. they can only imagine that world— but it must have been very great! Just look at the mess it left behind!

Totk’s Kingdom refers to “the place where all Link’s friends live.” still bounded by the canyon, the desert, and the ocean…. but the return of one princess does not a unifying government make. The different peoples clearly govern themselves, and look kindly on Zelda who after all only shows up to help (accompanied by 1-5 hylians max). She doesn’t need an army, because she’s not threatening to re-subjugate anyone; she’s just here to study the local insect species, please.

Link losing his memory has more than one upside, because not only did he not immediately have to remember everyone he would feel he’d personally failed in the Calamity, but 100 years ago he was Fully Bought In to the whole Kingdom thing, and it would have been incredibly rough to throw him directly from that into this disordered, emptied place and expect him to see something beautiful.

#botw #i did not at all appreciate zelda talking about the future of the kingdom at the end of totk. like #u don’t need a central government u need a microscope ok!#i know i'm not successfully entering into the fun fictional monarchy bit…#my problem is that botw is giving you this cute little peek at a post-monarchy hyrule and then totk tries to say they're going back??#and they clearly showed the kingdom pre-calamity as this stifling coercive force that was terrible for both zelda and link...#so they're kind of not entering into the fun fictional monarchy bit either!!!!#maybe they'd argue that was all king rhoam but 'u just need to make sure your kings don't have flaws' is not a winner #so yeah. the kingdom Has to be just for the vibes for me in totk #they're always saying 'zelda's just about the vibes don't take it so seriously' so i'll go back to that. but it takes effort!!
