There are two revelations from the journal I wanted to ask if you were planning on ignoring or incorporating them:

Yunan's dad soiling their family's name;

Joe Sparrow being found on an island AAA!Marcy has no reason to ever go to.

The second would be pretty sad, if a little ironic considering how many pets Marcy has in this AU.

Yunan's Dad soiling the family name Not originally however this chapter has been redrafted so many times that it actually has made it into the draft. In my original outline Yunan was actually an orphan from a young age. However I think her dad soiling the family name works better for the themes Im going for

Joe Sparrow being found on an island So this one I am also incoroporating as a 'This is an effect of swap AU' Originally I had an elaborate explanation for why Andrias had any bird calvary but would lend it out to Yunan or Sasha. The explanation. Short version was the Night Guard had like two or three trained birds and Birds bonded to their riders until they died (implying that Andrias had one such rider killed in canon for Marcy's sake) However it would have been clunky and I think the fact that birds just arn't commonly tamable is a more succinct explanation for Joe's absence. Though he will be missed. Such a good birb ;_;

An Analysis of Marcy's Journal

I've recently read Marcy's Journal (IT WAS AMAZING!!!) and a detail got my attention. I do not remember the post or the account who made the post, however I remember that the post was saying that

1) Marcy has issues with perceiving Amphibia as a real world, with actual living beings

2) The OP gave the line 'I gave you this' as an example

3) They had also connected it with Darcy. How as a literal colonizer, Darcy fails to see the soldiersand other people as nothing but tools/pawns (well 99% of the army is robots but still...)

As far as I remember, the journal wasn't even out yet when I read the post. And in the journal, some of Marcy's statements kinda concerned me about how she perceived the outside world. I'm not a psychologist or any kind of expert, but I don't think this kind of thinking pattern is very healthy for a child, especially if it's THAT repetitive. She CLEARLY sees Amphibia as a fantasy game with characters and tasks set out for her (Andrias does fuel this too).

It's not until Andrias finally reveals his true colors that Marcy starts to realize things. What she realizes is that things aren't non-complicated as a game where people might actually get hurt, and her friendship may never be the same again.

I always think about how minus the people close to Anne and parts of the government, the rest of the world thinks that the s3 frogvasion was a hoax or a movie stunt gone wrong. Not only have the trio been through something no one else on earth can comprehend, but if they try to talk about it to even a therapist, they're more likely to be labeled as delusional or in psychosis.

So I ran away from home and then I found it; THE MAGIC MUSIC BOX! The one from the book! I think it was called “Calamity Box”??? I was completely desperate and I wasn’t really thinking logically, I just needed some way to keep me and my girls together so I decided we had to shoplift the music box because I was hoping, begging, wishing it would somehow, magically transport us 3 to a new world where we could be together forever. Without parents to pull us apart.

But I guess the music box didn’t work like I wanted it to.

Instead of getting transported to a new world, I woke up back at home, in my bed. And, when I checked the time on my cell phone, I was surprised to see it was 6 AM on June 17!! I woke up on the same day, on the same morning. Time hasn’t moved forward at all!!

How do you feel about Anne's Entries in the Journal?

Alright just finished the book!

As for Anne's entries, I like them! Especially the 3a stuff added a lot of good characterization about Anne's mental state. Though, it feels like a lot of that should have been in the show itself.

I'm glad to have it. Its some nice closure on some nitpicks I have about season 3 that I've already gone to at length before so I won't belabor the point.

I do feel they could have done more with the 3b entries. Felt like it was mostly check marking the episode events rather than adding context to them.
