Family that slays together, stays together
Tumblr media
Summary? Nope.
Warnings? Hell yeah!: Blood, murder, disposal, knives, sibling bonding over murder, just a lot.
——————————————————————————
Every single person always overlooked Martin and Jessica Whitly’s youngest except Ainsley, their sister.
You see while Ainsley had Malcolm, Y/n had Ainsley and while it had faltered as they got older, Ainsley and Y/n still protected one another no matter what, even helping cover up a murder.
It was late when Y/n’s cellphone rung, looking at the phone it was Malcolm, Ugh, what does he want? Hello?”
Malcolm was out of breath, and he had a wild tinge to his tone, “Y/n, I need your help, it’s Ainsley.”
Y/n’s breath caught in their throat at the thought of something happening to their big sister and as they shot up and flew around the house, they asked, “What happened?”
Malcolm stopped for a second and then responded, “Not over the phone, just get here now.”
With that, the siblings hung up and Y/n flew out of their house and over to their mothers.
Letting themselves in, Y/n did a survey of everything as they walked through the house.
Things didn’t look different, but they felt different something was off and as they walked into the dining/living area, it became clear.
Nicholas Endicott lay on the floor with blood surrounding him and as Y/n got closer, they saw the deep slit on his throat and multiple stab wounds to his torso.
While anyone else would balk at the sight of a dead body, especially one with so much blood and violence involved, Y/n did not.
When you are a Whitly you’re not like others, and your father’s genetics made sure of that.
Y/n took in every detail, and after what seemed like hours taking in every stab wound and the slit across his neck, Malcolm spoke, “We don’t have time, we need to get Endicott's body out of here before morning, hurry!”
Y/n would ask what happened later but right now, the Surgeons children did what they do best, murder and disposal.
Y/n went around gathering everything that was caught in the aftermath and set it aside so it could be taken care of later and once that was done, they focused on what their brother was doing, “Malcolm, let me get the next part while you finish the clean-up.”
Malcolm was about to protest before Y/n made an obvious show of missing certain items, of course it was only a show though, Y/n was more of Martin than Malcolm or Ainsley ever would be and then you add Jessica’s issues on top and you have the perfect killing machine.
Malcolm moved aside and gave Y/n the saw, and as the saw sunk into the flesh and worked its way through the bone all Y/n could do was smile.
Just like their big sister, Y/n preferred a knife. It was more satisfying, anger dissipating as the knife would sink in repeatedly, blood casting into your face, spreading onto your hands, dripping.
Malcolm observed Y/n, he saw the smile spread wide, the calm in their eyes, the precise cuts Y/n made along Endicott's body to dispose of him, he saw someone he would have to watch and make sure no one found out. Malcolm wasn’t stupid, he had a feeling this may not be Y/n’s first time, they’re a Whitly.
Hurrying up and getting the body dissected, put into bags, and the bags into suitcases, Malcolm handed the rest of the clean-up off to Y/n, “I’m not stupid, finish the clean up, get yourself clean and then dispose of everything, we meet back here. Oh, if Ainsley asks, I did it. Go it?”
Y/n cocked their brown along with their head, “Yeah, got it. And Malcolm, what did Ainsley do?”
Taking a breath, Malcolm spoke, “I’ll explain when this is done, we just need to hurry up.”
Y/n took the supplies once again and set to work, after a bit longer of scrubbing and missing a spot on a book for the hell of it because let’s be honest, it will be easier for all of them for their mother to learn that way.
After getting everything cleaned up, Y/n went to go shower but decided to check in Ainsley first.
Looking inside the room, Y/n could clearly see their big sister still sleeping and Y/n carefully made their way back out, into the hall and continued to their bathroom.
Once in, they took a black trash bag, stripped, and shoved the clothes in the bag to burn with everything else.
Setting the water to the hottest temperature, Y/n got in and took their time.
Standing there with their head down, watching with a smile as the blood mixed with the water and swirled down the drain.
After 15 minutes of standing there, Y/n heard the door open and rushed through the rest of the shower.
Once done and dressed Y/n took everything and with Malcolm’s help, disposed of the other half of the evidence.
Going back to their childhood home they finally were able to sit, and Y/n could finally get some answers, “Malcolm, what happened with Endicott?”
Malcolm sighed and looked to Y/n debating on telling the truth or not, but he decided it would be best to tell them the truth, “I’ll tell you the condensed version. Endicott came over and Ainsley…I…Y/n, Ainsley blacked out and killed him.”
Y/n suppressed the urge to roll their eyes at him, and asked, “Does she recall anything?”
Malcolm grew quiet and thought back and the answered, “Not that I could tell, she asked what happened, I told her it was me, and then I sent her to clean up.”
Y/n already knowing that Ainsley had a bit more of Martin in her than Malcolm did but less than them asked, “Is it possible she does but she’s lying about it?”
Malcolm sighed and was about to answer when the two heard Ainsley get up and quickly rushed out, “Let’s hope not.”
Making her way in the dining/living area, Ainsley did a once over of the area and asked in a slight whisper, “Is it all done?”
Y/n took the initiative and stepped forward, “It’s all done and over, we don’t have to worry about Nicholas Endicott any longer.”
Ainsley produced a small smile and collapsed in Y/n’s arms, “Thank God!”
Staying there for a minute but then retreating, Ainsley looked Y/n in the eye and in that moment, they knew that Ainsley wasn’t lying.
Malcolm motioned that he was going in the kitchen for food so they could all eat and after the night that was just had, they certainly needed it.
Sitting on the couch, Ainsley patted the seat beside her motioning for the youngest out of the 3 to sit and once they did, she dropped her head on their shoulder, “Thank you for helping Malcolm, I know you two don’t necessarily get along but you did tonight to protect the family, so thank you.”
Y/n took a breath and laid their head on top of Ainsley’s, “Of course. We need to stick together, or we will all fall. We are now all complicit in this, Ainsley and we must stick together.”
After staying quiet for a few minutes, Ainsley spoke as Malcolm walked in the room, “I know, and we will.”
Taking the food from Malcolm, they all ate in silence but after an hour, Y/n spoke calmly before taking a bite from their sandwich, “Just to be clear with both of you, if anyone gets too close to the truth and threatens this family in anyway, I am going to kill them with no hesitation.”
Both Ainsley and Malcolm observed Y/n, they knew in that moment that their sibling was speaking the truth, they knew no matter who it was, Y/n would kill them to protect the family secrets.
All three looked at each other and made a silent pact that if anyone gets close, they had to go.
Most would think that this calm would seem eerie, but they are Whitly’s after all and murder is what they do best.
——————————————————————————
Bonus: After the reveal and learning that Ainsley knew
“Sooooo, how many have you killed?” Ainsley asked with a side eye
Malcolm gaped and Y/n laughed, “Enough.”
Malcolm’s eyes got wider, “When??”
Y/n casually asked, “Before or after Ainsley killed Endicott?”
Malcolm had had it, they were going to drive him further up the wall than he already was, “Enough, I need sleep. You two clean, I’m going to my room.”
The two youngest snickered, the murder had helped them grow closer once again but before Malcolm could leave the room, Y/n asked, “Does it help to know they were all bad?”
Malcolm sighed and thought with a shake of his head as he left behind the giggling pair, “So that’s who’s been killing those people who have been released, not surprised.”
Both Jessica and Malcolm could hear them cackling and Y/n shout, “The family that slays together, stays together.”
Jessica groaned and downed her wine but smiled slightly at the fact they had at least bonded over something and went back to her writing; Malcolm shook his head with a soft smile and made his way up to his room.

Hey I have a request for a Malcolm x reader. Let me just start this off by saying I LOVE your writing. Anyways could you do something where everyone notices that Malcolm looks very well rested and is eating well and is very confused by it. Like his new girlfriend who is a nurse takes good care of him and she comes into his work because he forgot his lunch and everyone finds out he has a girlfriend and Gil calls his mom and she says she wants to meet with her. Sorry if it’s too long.
Really??? Thank you so much anon!
I love Prodigal Son and more people definitely need to watch it! Malcolm just needs a big hug! I love this request and I adore writing for Prodigal Son :D

“Is it me,” said JT as Malcolm walked into the station, “Or is Bright looking different recently?”
“Yeah,” Dani leaned against the counter and took a sip of her earl grey, “A lot less Bright-ish.”
Malcolm has definitely been acting different and people were starting to notice. The most notable difference was the gradual disappearance of the dark circles under his eyes. Bright seemed happier in general. He had more of a spring in his step and it was starting to make officers talk. JT and Dani stood up straighter as Gil walked over looking tired.
“He’s on something,” muttered Dani, “Definitely.”
“Nah,” said JT, “Think he’s finally found someone.”
Gil coughed on his coffee and Dani paused in taking a sip of her tea. They both looked at JT in shock but JT folded his arms and nodded at Bright.
“Just look at him” he said, “Distracted, well more distracted than usual. He’s all,” JT grimaced slightly but there was a warm affection in his eyes, “Loved up.”
“You sure?” asked Dani looking at Bright intently
“Positive.”
“He’s probably just on some new medication,” said Dani, “Not sure he’s too interested in dating after Eve.”
“You saw his lunches,” said JT, “All neatly presented and actually healthy?”
“Just getting his life in order,” said Dani, “It’s good for him.”
“Dani’s right,” said Gil, “Bright’s just sorting himself out.”
The three of them lapsed into silence. JT frowned and shook his head. It was too obvious that Bright was seeing someone, he recognised it. Apparently he looked like that when h3 and Tally first started dating. A junior offer burst into the room and the three of them looked over.
“Err,” she said, “Is Malcolm Bright here?”
“Yes,” said Malcolm walking over to her, “What’s wrong?”
“There’s a y/n at the front desk. She-“
The officer didn’t get to finish before Malcolm had ran out of the room. JT looked over at Dani and Gil and couldn’t help but feel slightly smug.
“Told you,” he said as he followed Malcolm out of the room, “I’m going to prove that I was right.”
 *
“Y/n,” Malcolm said rushing towards you, “Is everything alright? What happened?”
“Noth-“
Malcom stopped right in front of you and gently cupped your face. His thumbs brushed along your cheekbones and you blushed slightly at the contact. Malcolm usually didn’t going into PDA and he usually reserved these actions for when the two of you were alone.
“I’m fine Malc.”
“You are?” Malcolm frowned, “But you’re here.”
“Because you forgot your lunch.”
You held up a bag and smiled.
“You were in such a rush with the case that you left this morning with it.”
You loved cooking with Malcolm and it was one of the things that took his mind off of his troubles. The two of you had reserved time out on Sunday to make sure that you cooked together and prepared lunch for the week.
“You could’ve just texted me,” said Malcolm, “You didn’t need to go and deliver it to me.”
“It was on my way to work,” you said, “No trouble.”
Malcolm opened his mouth but something made him freeze. You looked at him in concern as he closed his mouth and took a deep breath.
“I should probably let you know,” he said quietly, “That I haven’t told anyone about us yet.”
“Ok…” you said slowly
“And,” Malcolm turned around and you looked over his shoulder, “We have an audience.”
“Hi,” you waved awkwardly at Dani, Gil and JT, “I’m y/n.”
“A nurse,” said JT, “Didn’t know you had it in you.”
 *
You were sweet, that was the best way Gil could describe you. He collapsed into his chair once you had rushed back off to work. It clear that you and Bright adored each other and if Malcolm’s improving health was anything to go by you were good for the kid. His lips twitched as he remembered the looked Malcolm gave you as you left the station.
The two of you were a cute couple.
The buzz of his phone drew him out of his thoughts. He glanced down at it and when he saw it was Jessica Whitly he knew it would be better if he answered it. If he didn’t she wouldn’t let it go.
“Jessica,” he said, “Everything alright?”
“Oh yes fine,” said Jessica, “If you don’t count not hearing from your son for almost a week fine. Calling you seems to be the only way I can get a hold of him.”
“What do you need Jessica,” he said pinching the bridge of his nose, “This case-“
“I know, I know,” he heard her sigh down the phone, “I’m just concerned about Malcolm. You know what he gets like during cases like these.”
“The kid is fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. His new girlfriend seems to be helping him keep on track.”
The silence down the phone told Gil everything.
“Malcolm has a new girlfriend?” Jessica asked and Gil could hear the curiosity and amusement in her voice.
“You didn’t know.”
“Whereas you did.”
“We only found out today. I think he was trying to keep it quiet.”
“Well then, thank you for this little chat up Gil but I really should be going.”
“Jessica-“
“Such a lot to get done and never enough hours in the day.”
“Jessica-“
“Bye.”
After Jessica hung up Gil was left looking desperately at his phone. He wondered if he should warn Malcolm or let him find out on his own.
 *
Malcolm was getting used to the fact that the two of you had different schedules. Usually you got home later than he did so he was surprised when his door was unlocked. However, the scent of perfume in his flat told him that it wasn’t you in his flat.
“Malcolm,” said Jessica walking towards him, “Got home early tonight.”
“Mother,” He said looking at her suspiciously, “What are you doing here.”
“I was worried about you,” she said, “It’s been so long since we’ve had a proper dinner. So this Saturday you, me and Ainsley will be having dinner.”
“I don’t know if-“
“It’ll be fine,” she said walking towards the door, “And bring y/n. I’m dying to meet her.”
As the door shut behind her his mother’s words fully sunk in. Malcolm closed his eyes and ran a hand over his face. Dinner was going to be interesting and he was going to have to fully prepare you to meet his mother and sister.
Oh well, at least you weren’t meeting his father.

Plaything
Summary: You are Malcolm and Ainsley’s babysitter, but end up getting involved with the father of the Whitly family in unexpected ways.
Pairing: Martin Whitly x reader
Warnings: Cheating, kidnapping, drugging, language, non-con sexual content
A/N: so this has been in my drafts for a while and I don’t think I’ll ever get around to finishing it, so consider this my new year’s eve present to y’all :)
Tumblr media
“Coming!”
The voice came from inside the Whitly’s townhouse three seconds after you had rung the doorbell. Footsteps drew closer, and the lock on the front door clicked. The knob twisted before the door pulled open, revealing a man on the other side.
“Hello,” he said in a deep, rumbling baritone. He had brown, curly hair and a full beard. He was wearing a bright red sweater, and he had a welcoming smile on his face that you noticed didn’t quite reach his eyes. “You must be (Y/N).”
You forced a smile on your face. “That’s me.” You reached a hand out to him and hoped he didn’t notice the way you were slightly shaking. You couldn’t help but get a little nervous when meeting new people. “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Whitly.”
His blue-green eyes raked over your form up and down as if he was taking all of you in. After a moment, his grin grew wider, and grabbed your outstretched hand. “Please, call me Martin.” You tried to ignore the way the feel of his skin ignited sparks along your nerve endings. “Why don’t you come in?”
You subconsciously mourned the loss of contact when he retracted his hand. He stepped aside and held the door open wider for you. You stepped inside and wandered further into the foyer, gazing up at the crystal chandelier and high walls in admiration. “Wow. You have a really nice home, Mr. Whitly.”
He closed the front door behind him. “Thank you,” he walked closer to you, “and didn't I tell you to call me Martin?” He nudged your shoulder with his elbow and gave you a playful wink. You felt an involuntary blush wash over your cheeks as he called up the stairs, “Ainsley! Malcolm! The babysitter is here!”
You heard the pitter-patter of light footsteps against hardwood before you saw two children appear at the top of the stairs. They flew down the winding staircase in a blur and landed in front of their father at the bottom. One of the children was a girl with long, blonde hair that was slightly mussed. The other was a boy slightly taller than his sister with brown hair like his father’s and bright, blue eyes.
“Kids, meet your babysitter, (Y/N).” Mr. Whitly wrapped his arms around his children’s shoulders. “You listen to her while we’re gone, all right?” They nodded wordlessly, and he ruffled their hair with a chuckle.
“I’m coming! I’m coming!” You swiveled your head to see a woman rushing down the stairs, her stilettos clicking against the hardwood. She finished putting her other earring in as she came to a stop next to Mr. Whitly. “Sorry I’m late, dear. You know how long it takes me to get ready.”
She flipped her glossy, chestnut brown hair over her shoulder, and it cascaded down her back in elegant waves. You assumed this must be his wife. She was extremely beautiful and had a regal air about her. “Mrs. Whitly, it’s nice to meet you,” you stammered out and held your hand out to her.
She glanced at you before draping her hand in yours. “You, too.” She gave your hand a single shake before drawing hers away. She turned to her husband. “Really, darling, we must get going if we want to make it to the banquet on time.”
“I wonder who’s fault that would be,” he muttered with a roll of his eyes only you caught. You stifled a giggle. “You go ahead and get in the car, dear. I have to give (Y/N) a few instructions first.”
She let out a sigh. “All right.” She gave each of her children a kiss on their head before exiting the townhouse, leaving a cloud of Chanel perfume in her wake.
“Here’s some money in case you want to order a pizza later.” Mr. Whitly dug out his wallet from his pocket and handed you a crisp twenty dollar bill. “They should both be in bed by nine o’ clock.” He put a hand on your shoulder and leaned down to whisper in your ear, “Thanks for agreeing to watch them for us.”
He smiled at you, and you felt like you were glowing under his touch. “No problem.” You gave him a small smile back. You didn’t know why you were reacting to him in this way, but he was so handsome, you couldn’t help it.
He patted your shoulder before turning to his children. “Be good for (Y/N) while we’re gone, okay?” He kissed the top of their heads before giving you a final wave goodbye. You waved back, and he followed after his wife out the door.
You watched the headlights of the Whitly’s car pass over the windows as it drove away. Then, you turned to the two Whitly children who stood stock still at the bottom of the steps. You bent down so you were eye level with them. “So...” you smiled at them. “Who wants pizza?”
The Whitly children were rather surprisingly easy to deal with. Ainsley was a little demanding, dragging you around by your hand to play dolls or stuffed animals with her. Malcom was more guarded and reserved. He had this haunted look in his large, round eyes, like he had seen too much, more than he let on.
When you put the kids to bed on time, you still had a while before the Whitly parents were due home, so you retired to the living room. You laid down on the couch and turned on the tv, flipping to some random channel playing a movie. The blue light from the screen washed over you as your eyes started to flutter closed.
Next thing you knew, there was a hand on your shoulder shaking you and a deep gravelly voice whispering in your ear. “(Y/N), wake up.”
You opened your eyes. The television was off. You blinked rapidly to clear your blurry vision and, through the darkness, you could make out Mr. Whitly’s form hovering above you. “Oh, Mr. Whitly,” you murmured, your voice groggy. “I’m sorry. I fell asleep.”
“That’s all right.” You thought you felt his hand trail up from your shoulder to caress your cheek, but it could have just been your mind playing tricks on you. “Here’s for babysitting.” He pressed a couple of folded bills into your hand.
“Thank you.” You closed your eyes and stretched your aching limbs. You were all cramped from napping on the couch.
“Do you need a ride home?” he asked.
You shook your head. “No, that’s okay. I can walk.”
“Walk? At this time of night?” He looked dismayed. “At least let me get you a taxi.” You nodded, and he stood up. “I’ll go call one now. Can I make you a cup of tea while you wait?”
You sat up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. “Yes, please.”
He smiled. “Great. I’ll be right back.” He retreated to the kitchen, and you felt your cheeks warm. You didn’t want to inconvenience him, but you wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend a little more time with the man. There was something intriguing about him. You found him undeniably charming, and his presence was so warm and comforting.
“Leave,” a voice drew you out of your thoughts, and you whipped your head around to find where it was coming from. You spotted Malcolm standing in the archway leading to the foyer dressed in his blue striped pajamas, a blanket wrapped around his small frame.
“Malcolm?” You furrowed your brow. “What are you still doing awake?”
“Don’t drink it,” he urged you in a hushed whisper. Before you could question him further, the sound of approaching footsteps made his clear blue eyes go wide. He whirled around and dashed back up the stairs the way he came as quiet as a mouse.
A second later, Mr. Whitly returned with a steaming cup of tea in his hands. “Be careful, it’s hot,” he warned you as he set the cup down on the coffee table in front of you.
“Thank you.” You stared down at the murky, brown liquid in the cup before looking up at him. “Did you call a taxi?”
He folded his hands in front of him and nodded. “It’ll be here in ten minutes.” He jutted his chin out in the direction of the cup on the table. “Aren’t you going to drink your tea?”
You looked back down at the cup, curls of steam rising off of the surface and floating into the air. You didn’t want to be rude, and Malcolm was probably just trying to play a joke on you. But when you lifted the cup to your lips and took a sip, you swore the grin on his face grew wider and his cerulean eyes turned dark. You set the cup down and wiped your mouth with the back of your hand, looking up at him with a smile.
“Good girl,” he nearly purred, sending shivers down your spine. He drew closer to you as your vision became fuzzy, his eyes as black as a shark’s when it smelled blood. You felt like you were being sucked into a blackhole, and you gave in as gray dots blurred your vision.
The last thing you saw before you were completely swallowed by darkness was Mr. Whitly’s menacing grin sharper than a knife.
-
Falling. You were falling. You were falling down a long, winding rabbit hole. Your eyes were closed, and swirls of bright light lit up the veins running along your eyelids. You couldn’t move. Your limbs were numb, but it felt like every inch of your skin was draped in warmth. Then, the gray gave way to a blinding light above you searing your eyes.
You winced. “Turn it off,” you groaned. “Turn it off.”
The light moved out of your eyes, and you blinked to see Mr. Whitly hovering above you. His lips lifted into a wide smile when he saw you. “Finally. You’re awake.”
You frowned. “The sun. It’s too bright.” Your words were slurred, the vowels and consonants running together until you were barely intelligible.
He chuckled. “Don’t worry. You’re all right.” He reached out a hand and brushed some stray strands of hair out of your face.
You tried to move your arms, but couldn’t. You looked up to see rope looped around your wrists. You tried your legs next, but same thing. You looked down to see you were restrained to a metal table and your form was completely bare.
You looked back up at him. “I’m naked.”
He laughed and hummed. “Yes, you are.”
You furrowed your brow, but your muscles felt like they were made of molasses. Your mind tried to form a coherent thought, but it felt like your head was stuffed with cotton. You leaned back against the table and groaned. “My head hurts.”
“I’m sorry, dear. It’s probably a side effect of the drugs I put in your tea.” He corners of his lips turned downwards, but his expression didn’t match the twinkle in his eyes. “I didn’t mean to hurt you, really. I was just going to let you do your job and go. But when I saw you standing on my doorstep, so innocent and naive, I just couldn’t resist.” He brushed his thumb over your lower lip and stared down at you with an unreadable look in his eyes. “I had to make you my new plaything.”
Your lips parted, and his thumb slipped into your mouth. Without realizing what you were doing, you swirled your tongue around the pad of his finger. You closed your lips around his thumb and sucked. He watched you, entranced, before removing his appendage from your mouth with a pop. You let out a high-pitched whine.
“Fascinating,” he murmured, never taking his eyes away from you. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion. “I am sorry, (Y/N).” He slid down your body as your vision blurred. “But I’m not sorry about what comes next.”
