How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?

Not particularly loose. At all.. Essentially, if its true, she definitely uses it more, but even then, tends to need to remember to say it, or uses it when particularly emotional. In her mind, love is distinct from care. Plenty people she cares for. But love? Its more limited and in... some varied ways.

She doesn't like everyone in the pack, but as a whole, she loves them. The pack comes with a sort of inherent care, regardless of jäger. On a whole, her place in the pack that she values so greatly, is love, in a slightlymore familial sense. The Heterodynes and the family, that is a mix of obligation and loyalty and unrepayable debt. It is most simply understanding and thankfulness for the centuries long arrangement the Heterodynes have upheld with the town(in varying fashions) which comes to being love, no matter who the Heterodyne is. Neither of these get said aloud as 'i love you' basically ever.

With those of the pack she's closest to, it comes up at least twice a month, or if they say it first. Or special circumstances.

With the humans she's been close to, it was more rare. The sense of not wanting to acknowledge she's gotten attached cause when they die itll hurt more. But inevitably it comes up at least a few times after some years knowing them

I think it'd be tough, but by accident? But fairly tame by jäger standards? She's naturally blunt and sees no reason to not explain a point to someone if they're being stupid. And has rather poor control at wording or tone. But has no patience to bother force them to not do the stupid thing. If its a problem, someone with rank can deal with them later. Thats an issue for someone with responsibilities. Unless its someone she cares about. If Barsin decided for some inexplicable reason to try jumping off a cliff after breaking a leg for no reason, well, Mamma can deal with him. Unless she's gonna get yelled at too, then he's gonna get dragged away from the cliff by the horns. She'll still drag him back if he jumps off anyways out of loving care, with minor jostling even. Instead of ditching him there to learn a lesson.

For the first few decades of her life, she thinks she prefers tough love. Her biological parents raised her on that first, and she never quite responded well to gentle love after getting adopted in Mechanicsburg. She would rather need to figure out a solution herself after doing something stupid, would rather do the stupid thing than have someone try and be all empathetic about 'i know you want to sweetie, but maybe don't'. Tough love is mostly what she expects to face, from people she barely knows. And therefore simply avoids doing things that would result in facing it.

She does get to know some jägers, though. And with them comes more gentle, comparitively speaking, techniques. Which then results in her being comfortable doing stupid things just for fun on ocassion. But she certainly prefers it. And will take whoever is trying to tell her no into serious consideration before deciding whether to ignore them.

What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?

It changes up. Most commonly, on a more day-to-day basis, it'll be new fun facts. Fun facts ranging from science discoveries to gossip to updates on the vegetable garden. Long as she can make sure everything is as factual as able, for the time. She won't tell everyone, per se, but will bring it up regardless of if its reasonable to.

But higher excitement level, it'll be whatever is her newest intrest. Mostly learning craft skills. For this, she will actually tell everyone. Regardless of their personal interest or if she doesn't like them. If its a jäger she doesn't like, she'll actively choose to annoy them by telling them any updates on her craft learning journey.

Hello! First off thank you so muchmakes me happy to know that my work is intriguing to others :D TW: attempted suicide, gaslighting, unhealthy relationship behaviors, manipulation, and vague wounds In general, when I think of "snapping"mentally, my mind goes to the idea of staring blankly, quietness, and being frozen in place. Yknow when your parents would go quiet after you majorly fucked something up? Yea like that. For Elias, words speak louder than actions for him. You can hit and scratch and try your best to run away, but he'll always convince himself that you're doing it as a part of human nature. No creature wants to be stuck in a cage, he gets that more than anybody. It's just the instinct inside of you, you dont really want to be away from him! It's only when hes told how much hes hated, and unloved. That all of this is his fault, hes the reason you're so miserable and angry. For him, actions can be accidental, reflexes are hard to control. But words have force behind them;meaning. Its difficult to calm him down once his mind is made up about how selfish you've been! I'd say the lightest punishment hes willing to give is a few deep gashes on your back, and a day chained to bed. Itll kill him to be away from you but it kills him even more to remember those hateful words.

Anastasia is more of the "self loathing and pitying" type of lover. She'll wallow in sadness if anything ever happened to you. She doesn't really go feral unless everything has been ripped away. And surprisingly, there is still things to rip away. If you were to be killed, or removed from where she wants you, she'd wreak havoc. It would be mostly her own internal suffering, destroying her home and mutilating herself out of rage and anguish. Anastasia has a history of being seen as a monster, and she'd gladly live up to that reputation if it meant getting revenge.

Lain is very fake; If you talked back, he'd see to make sure you were faced with everything you hate. Not only is he the king of delusion, he's an amazing gaslighter. He's practiced pulling a normal and smiley face even during gut-wrenching situations, so getting him to break easily would be difficult. If you continuously decided to defy him--refusing to eat, hurting yourself or him, and just being generally uncooperative for an extended period of time, he'd be on the brink of madness. He only scares you into the thought of being hurt physically; Lain loves mind games. The boy would subject you to hours of hallucinogenics, causing the worst paranoia possible. He'd break you so far into oblivion, you'd scream at the sound of footsteps.

Adan is... difficult to say the least. He doesn't really get angry. What else do you expect from a millennium old vampire? He's had many subjects who've tested his patience in the past centennial and a tantrum from you won't be enough to shake him up. But if you were to threaten death upon yourself, that's when he'd get serious. He doesn't mind if you desecrate a few towns or splatter blood on the walls-- Hey, everybody's gotta have their fun as an undead newbie. A suicide attempt is the worst situation you could put yourself in. You're a new, shiny subject that has piqued his interest; Adan is really a child at heart: willing to put up with your own tantrums until it affects him. If trapping you underground or tying you against him is the only way you'll behave, he'll do it. Adan is the definition of a "disappointed angry parent," staring down at you like you're nothing, furious at what you're trying to do. He'll be quiet; too quiet. And that's when you know you've fucked up.

I've already discussed this but this news clip further validates my point of the topic, nothing more. I could call him out on hs bs further with detail, but I won't....yet, out of respect even though he probably doesn't deserve it. Its the events of this what happened that started our downfall to begin with cuz i didn't trust him & he didn't even try to gain it back just left it as is when I could've turned my back right then & there, no apology either. Everything ive ever said up to this point lies all my Questions. But here's most of the list, we both were equally in control of the relationship. Maybe u didn't want me to? But doing everything I had to for myself & the household, what u & ur parents wanted of me & just me being me cuz i had to, u had your own part to play & did provide...but did u actually not want me to cater to u if it were a sign u were lazy or something? You always were worth every effort of mine to help u in any way to be happy, & i was most happy when u were. With her vision still foggy, Kusura could barely lift up her eyes to look at the redhead. It felt like there were extremely heavy weights all over her, especially her neck, shoulders and feet. She wanted to say it was none of the fellow demon hunter's but at that point in time it was completely up to her to tell Victoria to leave her alone and go about her business--or help her out. This was a tougher debate than it should be, but given she lost her soul mate, Kusura was very unstable and unfocused. Normally she would be unfocused just from purely being hyper and full of energy, but it was the opposite here.

"What you're looking for isn't here." Kusura said, voice dry and quiet. She wiped some blood off her hands and cleaned her long black claws before securing the scythe in clasps on the back of her cloak. "He got away. I had to save him...apparently I wasn't able to do both."

Kusura tried to get up but she couldnt. "I dont know who you're after but I have to continue chasing him if I want to see him destroyed. He killed more than just my lover. My family, years ago, and nearly got one of my friends. His name is Bombfire. Leave me be and I assure you I won't cause any trouble." Sure she wasnt too convincing at the moment, but given how distraught she was it would make more sense to Vic. Additionally, it didn't matter to Kusura if Vic was after the same demon. If she was, great, if not, she was going to gather her emotions and thoughts and move on.

It took just enough effort to collect the staff. Kusura had almost forgotten she was at gunpoint. Yet this didn't matter if she saw the gun or not because her keen hearing and speed would aid her in being able to avoid getting shot.

Kusura was formerly a demon hunter herself, so to many she appeared to be demon at a glance and was initially judged as such. It wasn’t of her concern right now though, her lover had just been slaughtered before her eyes and that was definitely the least of her worries. Her black and red ears twitched and with in a split second, the speedy demon zipped over to the staff, not in the least concerned with the gun pointed to her. Kusura’s gift was super speed. Even before being turned by her least favorite demon lord, she was an agile fighter as a human sorceress.

She felt physically out of the physically realm still, emotionally distraught and detached. She had truly loved him even though she was a demon. And now his soul was all she had left, absorbed by a spell sealed in her scythe. The scythe was now just a plain metal staff, kicked away by a red headed being that just showed up. If she was a demon hunter-which she looked to be from scent and quick observation, bad luck was definitely in play here.

The cat demon had done her best to defend him and herself, but apparently it was just barely enough. Her ally took off after the summoning and spell was completed. After the fact, she felt as though she would need to call her back for more help sometime soon. Maybe not right away, but she was vulnerable and felt very lost and numb.

Red eyes glared at the red headed demon hunter, empty yet a dash of ferocity still resided in them. Without hesitation she picked up the blade-less weapon.

“Wh-hat-do you want?” She choked out hoarsely. Kusura would not move again unless fired upon further. She wasn’t worried about the bullets, more so what her rage and despair would do than anything else.

    Victoria kept her crossbow’s aim trained on the woman as the other party recovered and swiftly moved to retrieve the kicked-away weapon. So long as she did not attack, the trigger would not be squeezed.

    The way the demoness swiftly responded to the scythe-turned-staff being sent skittering across the ground hinted that the weapon likely had some value to this at least partly inhuman woman. Upon seeing the other’s speed, Victoria realized full and well that if this diabolical being had intended to attack that it would have been an unpleasant experience, to say the very least. The speed she had just displayed would have made closing the gap between the two women into a joke for the clawed one of the pair and would have likely left the redhead with quite a mark. She was, admittedly, glad that had not turned out to be the case in this instance.

    Victoria knew the difference between someone who was looking to attack and someone who was ready to defend. She was fairly certain that she currently found herself looking at the latter of the two. ❝There’s a chance I may be here to kill whatever demon you’ve just taken care of. After all, you look nothing like what I had been told was behind all of this. Then there are your injuries…❞ 

    She then looked past the dark-haired fighter to the mess left by the fight that had recently occurred in the area. ❝So, was it a grudge? Or are you one of the decent ones who lives among humans and hunts the problematic members of your own race?❞ she asked as her gaze focused back onto the demon, awaiting an answer.
