You know, I thought I was done recapping the season after yesterday's clip. (Mina was great, the script infinitely less so.) But this last clip made me push at least another post out, if nothing else because it took a group effort to decipher lmao. I don't know what's up with the acting/editing/directing choices this season but the clips are so unclear that they constantly need explanation.

Basically Mailin runs into Finn while carrying some old hoodies to, I believe, repurpose. Finn is like, "oh awesome coincidence, I forgot to donate my old hoodie." Which he's coincidentally wearing right now. He pulls it off along with his shirt, and we get to see the actor's abs for a good amount of time. Mailin is practically salivating. I would say this girl definitely feels sexual attraction.

Finn also reminds her that they'll be seeing each other tomorrow, since a bunch of them are going to have dinner at Josh's. I thought it was just Josh, Nora, Isi, her bf, Finn and Mailin. But there was a chat saying Nora had invited the cashqueens, so maybe Ava and Fatou are coming as well? Mailin completely forgot that the meal was meant to make her forget that Finn is himself a snack.

Anyway then Mailin goes down the stairs where a bunch of dudes are crowded around a cellphone. They're so engrossed in it that Mailin has to push her way through. The guys are all talking about how they'd fuck her and how she obviously wants it. Mailin is shocked and turns around, intending to give the dudes a piece of her mind for sexualizing her (her as in Mailin) like this. But then she realizes the dudes aren't talking about her, but rather about Zoe's video, which they're watching. They didn't even notice her.

After a crowdsourcing of braincells, I believe that Mailin's emotion is jealousy, that she wasn't the one to be talked about this way. I'm leaning towards that because afterwards we got a pretty cringy effort on social media where Zoe casually posted about flowers (in a coffee shop she was at I believe?), and Mailin followed up with flower spam out of nowhere.

So basically this is Mailin struggling with the male gaze, hating when she thinks she's catcalled, but feeling like she's underperforming when she realizes she's not. I think this could've been a better clip if they drew a connection between the guys being absolutely gross about Zoe, and Mailin's earlier ogling of Finn, but let's keep our expectations low this season.
