2024 Hyundai Alcazar Launched In India At ₹ 14.99 Lakh: Price, Specs, Features
Hyundai India has launched an updated avatar of its 7-seater SUV - Alcazar. The Creta-based 3-row SUV was long due for a mid-cycle refresh. The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift is launched at a special introductory starting price of ₹ 14.99 lakh for petrol variants and ₹ 15.99 lakh for diesel variants. It will continue to take on its existing set of rivals - Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Carens and more. In the last few months, the Alcazar has been a dull seller. The update, however, is expected to add some more numbers to the SUV's monthly sales tally.
Tumblr media
The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar isn't just a stretched-out Creta, in terms of its looks. It opts for a bold-looking design theme, comprising of a rather butch-looking front facet with H-shaped connected LED DRLs, a large radiator grille, and a wide scuff plate.
Around the sides, the big change is the addition of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, bigger rear quarter windows, black-painted cladding, and bridge-type roof rails. The rear face of the Alcazar is also heavily tweaked with the use of a new spoiler, a reworked bumper, and a fresh design for the skid plate. It also gets connected LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators.
As for the dimensions, the Alcazar is 4,560 mm in length, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall. In comparison to the outgoing model, the 2024 Alcazar is 60 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 35 mm taller. The wheelbase remains unaltered at 2,760 mm.
On the inside, the big change on the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar is a new dashboard layout, which is borrowed from the facelifted Creta. The cabin is now upholstered in new shades - noble brown and haze navy. The dual-tone treatment gives a premium appeal to the overall cabin.
Besides, the 6-seater variant now features ventilated second-row seats with folding armrests, which improve the accessibility to the third-row. Unique thigh extenders are a key highlight of the Alcazar's interior.
The bold new Hyundai Alcazar will be offered in 9 colours with 8 mono-tone options including the new Robust Emerald Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald, Starry Night, Ranger Khakhi, Fiery Red, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and 1 dual-tone colour option available in Atlas White with Black Roof.

Mahindra Thar Roxx It Is! Launch Date Revealed!
Tumblr media
the official name of the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door! The Mahindra Thar Roxx! The brand, along with the Armada had also trademarked the Roxx nameplate for its upcoming SUV. And as we thought it could be called the Armada, Mahindra surprised everyone with its official name
The biggest news for Mahindra fans has to be the launch date of the Mahindra Roxx. So with the official teaser, Mahindra has confirmed that the Roxx SUV will be arriving on 15th of August 2024! Now will the brand launch the Roxx on Independence Day
Tumblr media
The design is actually nothing new to us as we have already seen the leaked images. That said, let’s quickly discuss how different it looks from the regular Thar. So upfront, the Thar Roxx gets a different grille and headlamp setup. The lights have the same circular design but get LED DRLs and LED setup on the inside. Below we have new bumpers which house LED fog lamps. The side profile is yet to be revealed completely to judge the length of the SUV. However, we can see a new design for the alloy wheels. Whereas at the rear, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx can be seen with similar short and vertical tail lamps, but with LED treatment.
Tumblr media
The interior of the Thar Roxx is yet to be revealed but we do know a few key details. As seen on the spy shots, the Thar Roxx will carry the same design cues for the interior from the current Thar. However, it will be equipped with new features like the 10.25-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and the XUV700-like steering wheel. Additionally, it will also get some exclusive features like panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera setup, and more
Tumblr media
Powering the new Thar Roxx could be 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines from the ScorpioN. These engines will likely be offered with the 4X4 variants of the Roxx. Whereas the RWD variants will likely be offered with Thar’s 1.5-litre diesel engine. In terms of pricing, the Thar Roxx is expected to be priced between Rs 17 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Nifty Auto plummets nearly 3% as M&M, Tata Motors fall sharply; Maruti Suzuki hits new record high
The Nifty Auto index fell nearly 3% in intraday trading, hitting 25,094 points, driven down by Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M). This marked the index's largest intraday drop since June 04. By 1:30 p.m., the index had recovered some losses but was still down 2%, trading at 25,307 points.
Shares of M&M dropped nearly 8% to ₹2,697 apiece, the lowest level since June 07. M&M alone accounted for nearly 80% of the index's drop today.
This sharp decline followed the company's announcement of a temporary price cut of up to ₹2 lakh for its top XUV700 variant, the XUV700 AX7. The new pricing, introduced ahead of the XUV700's third anniversary, will be effective for four months starting July 10. In addition to M&M, Tata Motors has also implemented price cuts on its SUVs, the Harrier and Safari, effective until July 31. Analysts interpret these price reductions by major players as signs of weakened demand in the segment, attributing this trend to reduced inquiries and postponed vehicle purchases, exacerbated by extreme heat waves affecting consumer behavior. Shares of Tata Motors also fell 2.85% in today's trade.
Other top losers in the index included Exide Industries, which fell by 5% to ₹549 apiece. After reaching an all-time high of ₹620 on June 25, the stock has faced profit booking, leading to a 12% decline to date. Meanwhile, shares of Samvardhana Motherson International, Apollo Tyres, Hero MotoCorp, Bosch, Ashok Leyland, MRF, Balkrishna Industries, Bharat Forge, and Bajaj Auto are currently trading with losses ranging from 0.3% to 2%.
On the gainers' side, Maruti Suzuki continued its strong momentum for the second consecutive trading session, reaching a new all-time high of ₹13,299 apiece with a nearly 4% gain.

Two New SUVs From Mahindra South Africa Showcased At The 2023 SA Auto Week
Held at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Gauteng, the SA Auto Week is South Africa’s premier industry event. It offers vehicle manufacturers like Mahindra an opportunity to discuss issues facing the local and global industry while also showcasing its newest innovations and vehicles.
The two models on display, now available at Mahindra Midrand, the all-new Scorpio-N and XUV700, physically manifest the spirit of the brand at SAAW 23 where the industry celebrates its South African manufacturing capability and the high-tech new products that will spearhead its advances into a new era of motoring.
Both new Mahindra models bring a host of new technologies to a market used to more budget-focused options.
For instance, the Mahindra XUV700 offers features such as a 26 cm Superscreen that incorporates the digital dashboard and a host of entertainment features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment system is connected to a 12-speaker 3D SONY sound system for the most immersive sound experience.
This model uses its array of cameras to offer a 360-degree view of the vehicle from inside, while also doubling up as a traffic camera while driving.
The Scorpio-N, in turn, brings real-world off-road capabilities to the adventure SUV segment with its 400 Nm turbodiesel engine and adaptive terrain response system that adjusts its operation based on the road conditions in the off-road capable Scorpio-N.
“Having laid a solid foundation over the past 19 years, we now shift gears and focus on expanding our range of Authentic SUVs and Authentic bakkies. This will not only help us to maintain the momentum that has made us the fastest-growing brand in 2022 but will also give us a varied product offering that will appeal to virtually all consumer groups,” says Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa.
Tumblr media
With reference to the solid foundation that Mahindra has laid in South Africa, Rajesh mentions the recent investment in a new state-of-the-art warehouse in Linbro Park, Gauteng, and its growing network of dealers that currently stand at 74 showrooms covering all nine provinces and every major city and town - like our favourite Mahindra dealer in Midrand, Gauteng.
Speaking on the sidelines of the SA Auto Week, Rajesh also highlighted the significant investment in improving the Mahindra Assembly Facility at the Dube TradePort in KwaZulu-Natal.
The facility, which produced its first proudly South African Pik Up in 2018, has since been upgraded to include a comprehensive post-production testing track, a modern painting facility and a more streamlined production line.
With these upgrades, the assembly facility can produce in excess of 500 Pik Ups a month across the entire product range, from the entry-level Pik Up S4 Dropside to the coveted Pik Up Karoo Dusk, Dawn and Storm with their six-speed automatic transmissions.
“Our next step will be to introduce special edition models of the XUV300, Scorpio-N and Pik Up. The last mentioned will be expanded with the introduction of a single-cab Pik Up Karoo Dawn with a 4×4 drivetrain.
“We have also listened to the calls by Mahindra fans and will soon introduce a special Mahindra Scorpio-N Adventure Edition, complete with custom-built approach and departure bumpers, off-road focused tyres and suspension and a number of interior additions.
“Lastly, our range will soon include a Mahindra XUV300 XPREZ. This panel van version is custom-built for South Africa and will offer safe, cost-effective and reliable transport for businesses looking for a commercial vehicle in the sub-one-tonne market,” says Rajesh.

Safety First: A Closer Look at the Safest Cars in India for 2023
When it comes to purchasing a new car, safety should always be a top priority. In India, where road conditions and traffic can be challenging, ensuring that you and your loved ones are protected while on the road is of utmost importance. As we step into 2023, let's take a closer look at the safest cars available in the Indian market and explore the safety features, crash test ratings, and innovative technologies that make them stand out.
The Importance of Car Safety in India
India's roads are notorious for their diverse and often unpredictable traffic patterns, making road safety a critical concern. According to the World Health Organization, India has one of the highest rates of road traffic deaths globally. In such a scenario, having a safe and reliable car becomes a non-negotiable aspect of daily life.
Fortunately, car manufacturers are increasingly prioritizing safety by integrating advanced features and technologies into their vehicles. These innovations aim to reduce the severity of accidents and protect passengers in the event of a collision. To help consumers make informed choices, organizations like the Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) conduct crash tests and assign safety ratings to various car models.
The Safest Cars in India for 2023

It boasts a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, making it one of the safest cars on Indian roads. The Altroz includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, and a reinforced safety structure, ensuring that you are well-protected in case of an accident.
Mahindra XUV700: Mahindra's XUV700 offers a comprehensive safety package, featuring up to seven airbags, advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, and a sturdy build. It has also received high marks in crash tests, cementing its reputation as a safe choice.

It comes equipped with features like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), and up to six airbags. Its solid build quality and advanced safety systems have earned it recognition in safety assessments.

Toyota Innova Crysta: The Innova Crysta is a popular choice among families, and it places a strong emphasis on safety. It offers a range of safety features, including seven airbags, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and anti-lock braking, ensuring that your family travels in safety and style.
Innovations in Vehicle Safety
In recent years, the automotive industry has witnessed remarkable advancements in vehicle safety. Some of the notable innovations that have found their way into the safest cars in India for 2023 include:
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): Many vehicles now come equipped with ADAS, which includes features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. These systems use sensors and cameras to enhance driver awareness and help prevent accidents.
Rear-View Cameras: Rear-view cameras are becoming standard in many cars, aiding drivers in parking and avoiding obstacles behind the vehicle. These cameras contribute to reducing accidents while reversing.
Crash Avoidance Technologies: Car manufacturers are incorporating technologies that can detect potential collisions and take corrective actions, such as applying the brakes or steering, to prevent or mitigate the impact.
Pedestrian Detection Systems: Some cars are now equipped with sensors and cameras that can detect pedestrians and cyclists on the road, alerting the driver and, in some cases, applying the brakes to avoid accidents.
In conclusion, the importance of prioritizing safety when purchasing a new car in India cannot be overstated. Fortunately, car manufacturers are rising to the occasion by incorporating advanced safety features and technologies into their vehicles.
