idk i'm like tired of hearing incorrect things about aces and stuff even from within the community who seem to think their experiences are universal...not all aces are sex-repulsed!

not liking to see "mature content" doesn't have anything to do with being ace

asexuality is the lack of (or low) sexual attraction and that's it

please keep your dislike of nsfw/mature content separate from asexuality

sexual attraction is complicated but a lack of it does not stop aces from enjoying sex (aces still have libidos!) or enjoying porn

a lot of it i think is splitting hairs over "what's considered ace" but please please please remember that nothing is absolute and asexuality like many other things is a SPECTRUM

Idk I was extensively in the BNHA fandom and I saw a lot of adults starting petty drama. And honestly, it went far beyond ships as well, to the point that nonbinary adults were attacking my trans identity and calling me a woman.

Like, idk, I just see so many actual adults/teenagers using fandom as an excuse to attack people they don't like in ways that are incrediably homophobic/transphobic/aphobic, but they think bc they are also LGBT/and/or minors and that those people are "freaks" so it's ok. And it's just been escalating more and more, I've noticed?

I've had teenagers stalk my various social media accounts after I deleted Tumblr and having fits over unrelated posts of me observing things about the way Tumblr treats aces from days/weeks before. I've had someone comment on fics I shared with them on Google Docs that I haven't touched in five months.

I had some kid write an entire paragraph about how I was a sad bakudeku shipper who needed help and they hoped I could talk my shit out and become a better person. I had never talked to this person in my life. Despite them posting messages I had sent a mutual friend about my personal sexualities and gender. They made fun of my chosen name, my OCs, and called me a woman multiple times. Which was started by a 20 y/o adult.

Like maybe 4 years ago I wouldn't have had this problem just because I told this person to be nicer to asexual people.

For some reason the BNHA fandom is really bad about making fandom personal when you get into any kind of dispute with them. Like, I've seen people make call outs for people on the grounds they ship KiriMina or BakuDeku and ppl joking about how their gay card needs to be revoked. Or about how BakuDeku shippers can't be gay or trans because only cishet women ship it?? It's the main reason I don't participate extensively in the BNHA fandom anymore.

Idk, this entire Tumblr era is a dumpsterfire and yeah superwholock is "cringey" but at least that shit was about having fun. I've blocked so many people from the BNHA fandom for general toxicity and treating it more important than it is. Like. Chill. It's an anime, just enjoy it normally for God's sake?? There's no need to treat it like some ethical problem when someone writes/draws something you don't like, but for some reason they do. Shit's weird.

Now that I’m older and I look at fandom drama like in the BNHA fanbase, it makes me want to go through it and go “It’s not that serious, bro”
