well, this was strange. if he still remembers how to read the time correctly, it's 3:30 pm and you should be at home today. yet he couldn't hear a single sound from the shared household, implying you were, infact, not at home. huh? that was wholly strange. you both had no urgent tasks for today, so where were you gone? your date was in 1½ hrs time, so he didn't have a tinge of worry about it. he knew you'd return by that time, even if you were gone somewhere. but where did you go anyway? to the balcony? xilonen's workshop? ororon's fields? mavuika's chambers? ifa's vet?

it was almost 5:30 by the time his patience finally ran out. you were nowhere to be seen, noone knew your whereabouts, your departure time was unconfirmed, and you didn't even tell him about it. he tried to distract away the thoughts that eerily haunted his mind, 'what if she's in danger? kidnapped? or perhaps, dead?'

he'd get nothing out of overthinking. finally, it all clicked to him where you could perhaps be found.

shit, and was his intuition right. he could hear the sounds of violent sobs drifting off in the sea breeze, some sniffles and pieces of incoherent speech here and there. they were yours.

"y/n? y/n!"

he gently held your shoulders and tried to pry off your palms from your face. is it too late? at last as he finally managed to do so, he saw your tinged red eyes, indicating you've been crying for a lot of time.

"what happened to you? babe? are you okay? please tell me- what happened to you? please, please please-"

"im fine, ichi, its alright"

"you dont look alright at all. what happened to you? who did this to you? this sadness?"

"oh it's just..um..this is embarassing.."

"no tell me, please baby, tell me. if you don't tell me and start crying again, i might just start crying too. please tell me"

"um.. it's...basically, these past few days I've felt like... you're.. avoiding me. like...everytime i try to approach you, you just- you just..shut me down. push me away. it maybe because I'm not living upto your expectations, but these past few days I've been feeling like you spend time with mualani more than me. it hurts so bad when my inner thoughts whisper to me, haunting me by saying stuff like you're giving the same lovesick smile to her as you do to me, and falling for her and- mfhm?!"

oh by gods, the way kinich just tenderly held you yet kissed constrastingly different, almost making you feel dizzy and lightheaded. you knew you weren't in the right state of mind after crying and struggling with your thoughts for so long, and his intoxicating kiss didn't help the matter at all.

at last when he finally pulls his lips away from yours, a tinge of bemused smile rests on his slightly chapped lips. him? in love with mualani? he'd rather give away his body to ajaw and keep himself locked in a small piece of memory inside your heart, so that as long as your heart beats, you both never get seperated. that was the best deal for him.

"look, im sorry I didn't tell you earlier and I'm sorry if I don't live upto your expectations and or are falling for mualani, its completely alright and-"

"Are you insane?"

"huh?"

Teardrops began to fall from your eyes again as he finished speaking. He'd never, ever been good with words, reflecting his love and care with his actions instead. Although he's trying to be more and more vocal for you, you'd never expected this from him.

Your Smile (Buggy × Reader / Ace x Reader)

There was no doubt that your captain had the biggest crush on you; you were another member of his crew, you weren't part of his shows but you were the navigator so whenever they would be out in the land you'd stay back working on the maps.

However today it was a rare occasion where most of the crew members stayed back on the ship rather than going out in the island, they decided to put on a show to entertain each other by cracking jokes and imitating each other; you sat in the back laughing at how your crew was getting on and about the jokes. You loved each one of them because they treated you better than your own villagers and it was being a pirate or staying in an unwanted village. As you laughed you had no idea that your captain buggy the clown was eying you from where he stood; he had his smile reaching his ears just from watching you smile However he wasn't the only one watching you smile; few of his crew members were doing the same, it was an innocent look that he understood differently. Buggy decided to take matters in his own hands and to him of course it was a great idea when he walked towards you and stood infront of you taking you by surprise, you were about to talk to him when he spoke first, "do you ever consider not laughing like that?" That made all the crew members to turn towards you both and went silent, the question took you by surprise, you weren't able to ask him what did he mean when he spoke again, "your smile and your laughter makes me sick to my stomach! It's weird the way you laugh, don't you see how weird it sounds laughing and smiling like that?"

"Captain-" one of his crew members spoke only to be cut by buggy laughing and going on, "I have never heard someone laughing so hideously in all my years of being a pirate and I have been one for the rest of my life! Did you know that? Huh? You look worst than a clown." His laughing echoed in the room as his crew members looked at him confused and surprised while you looked down not knowing what to say to him before you blinked bowing a bit not looking at him, "I'm sorry, I'll m-make sure to not do it again." Your low voice was barely heard when you left the room leaving your captain and the crew members behind. One by one they left some of them shacking their heads at their captain in disbelief of what he just said to you knowing that you were one of his favourite members.

Usually you'd be happy to show your captain any new island you thought were great places however after that day you stopped approaching Buggy for unnecessary reasons like these and kept your work to yourself, in fact you had completely stopped talking to him only when it was absolutely necessary or answer him when asked you questions about where is the next island. He felt horrible for making you react like that towards him and just like you said; you completely stopped laughing or smiling wide when he was around. Your crew members tried hard to make you laugh only to no avail because everytime you thought about laughing the words of your captain rang in your ears, you'd just gave them small smile to avoid being rude to them and that wouldn't last long.

That went on for a month until one day you and the crew were stopping for another island when you were the last one to leave the ship only to find your captain standing there, he saw you approaching him as he eagerly turn to smile at you which you didn't return, "Huh, what is is sweetheart? Did you find another fascinating island? Haven't heard you talking about thos-"

"No, Captain" you replied looking at your hands then back at him, "I'm leaving."

His eyes widened, "W-What do you mean by leaving? Leaving for the island right?" You shock your head when he noticed your bag that you brought with you when you joined his crew few years back, "I'm leaving the crew, Captain. I left all the maps on the desk, I didn't take anything that isn't mine, there is a full map of island that will be ahead and I also pointed out information about each of them, nothing that isn't mine is taken, the books are where they are, and I hope I have been of good service as a navigator all those years, thank you for making me part of your crew and I promise to never forget that and I will never share anything about you or your crew to anyone from now on. I have to leave I don't think being a pirate is for me."

You started to walk when he grabbed your wrist, "y-you can't leave just like that! Why? I don't want you to leave what about us? We can't lead without a navigator! You can't leave." You pulled your hand away from him, "Captain you're hurting my hand please stop." He immediately let go of your wrist and you stepped back, "I'm sorry if I was a bother to you, If our path cross one day I'll be happy to see you again but I really hope we never cross paths again, goodbye Captain." He watched you as you left without another word, Buggy never let that leave him; he made the girl that he liked leave and only because of him it was all his fault.

4 Month Later

It was a sunny day when you were sitting by the shoreside with your drawing book sitting in your lap as you drew the map of new island that you read about in one of the books in the villages library; it was a small and quiet place that you liked and the villagers were nice and welcoming. You were drawing when someone's shadow coverd your half down drawing, you turned behind to find a shirtless man with an orange hat looking down at your book, he sat beside you, "Wow, that's an amazing drawing of a map! Are you an artist?" You nodded at his question and he smiled wide, "I am Ace, Portgas D Ace, I'm a pirate." Your eyes widened at that before you fixed you face, "your name is familiar, I don't know why?" You said and he shrugged, "I'm with the white beard crew, that might sound familiar?"

"Oh, yeah, I heard about the famous white beard pirates, what are you doing in this small village? I Hope it's not for any trouble." He chuckled waving his hand in front of his face, he did have the biggest smile for someone who looked like he can punch his way in life, "No no, we were just loading on supplies and I decided to take a walk, so you like to draw?"

You nodded, "Yes, i draw maps, it's great here, you can work without getting bothered, it's a great village, welcome."

He titled his head to side, "you can draw maps? As in island maps? Like navigator stuff?" Your breathing hitched at that word, but you nodded with a hum, his surprised expression turned into excitement as he stood up, "would you mind talking a walk with me? Please?"

You blinked before standing up and putting your book in your bag as you walked with him and you noticed how happy he was as he lead the way to which you happily followed and both came to stop when you saw few known members of the white beard crew. Ace asked you to follow him to the ship to which you hesitated at first, he forwarded his hand, "Don't worry, I just want to introduce you to our Captain." You looked at his hand then back at the ship behind him and sighed before placing your hand in his and he led the way to the deck of the ship; its been a very long time since you last been on a ship. Ace carefully pulled you with him to introduce you to one and only white beard himself and you couldn't believe that he was praising you in front of his Captain.

"So you are a navigator? My child?"

You looked at Ace then back at the captain before nodding as you held on your dress tight, "are you scared of pirates, my child?" You shook your head looking at white beard, "I'm sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean to react like this, it's just been a long time since I was on a ship!"

Ace looked at you confused and you bit back your tongue, "you are a pirate?" Ace asked and you panicked as you shook your head, "No, I mean I-I was b-but I am not anymore, it was a long time ago." You sighed. "We need a navigator, our crew is always on an about and busy and one navigator isn't enough do you think you got it in you to join the crew, My child?" The captain asked you.

You really didn't want to join them because you didn't want to be disappointed again and again. Ace noticed how hard you were thinking still holding the side of your dress in a fist, he took his hat off and placed it on your head, you turned to him and he smiled wide at you, "join our crew, it'll be fun! I will show you around the island that you draw." You blinked then looked at Captain then back at Ace, you leaned closer to Ace as you asked, "Promise?" He chuckled loudly and nodded taping on the top of his hat on your head, "Pinky Promise! Plus, I'll look after you, don't worry."

"Oh." You replied hiding under his hat even more.

Ace was excited to introduce you to the crew to your disappointment, you were the only girl unlike your previous crew. However the crew seemed more laid back and welcoming, Ace showed you to a room that was to be yours since the navigator gets their own room; he helped you put your things away and settle in. He had filled you in with where they were and whatever maps they tried to come up with. You were happy to start on the maps and many of them; you decided to work on the ones they already made as you did that the time went on fast and it was night time before you knew it, you were almost done with half of the map when Ace came in the room standing near the doorframe he asked you if you would join them for dinner to which you nodded before grabbing a clothes and washing the ink from your hand; you walked behind Ace as he led the way to the huge kitchen. You were surprised to find the crew had gathered around and made a "Welcome" sign for you as they all sang for you and made sure that you weren't feeling left behind.

You thanked them all and tried to keep to yourself for the rest of the night however it was hard when Ace was literally cracking jokes and making everyone laugh with his stories. You tried hard to not laugh but it was hard to hold it back at his expression as he told the stories and especially when he'd look directly at you everytime he'd make a silly face, you chuckled to yourself trying to hid it behind your hands as you laughed lowly; it was the end of it when he made the silliest face expression that you almost chocked on your drink laughing which he noticed and it made him keeping doing it again and again as you laughed.

Your laughter was hidden by the laughter of the rest of the crew but Ace noticed that your laughter changed into crying and his face dropped in horror however he was quick to not show it as you left the kitchen. Ace excused himself as he went behind you meanwhile the crew went on drinking and partying. Ace found you at the edge of the deck sobbing, he rushed to your side, "Hey, what's wrong? Are you hurt?" He asked concerned softly rubbing your back, you shook your head still sobbing a bit, "N-No I'm okay I-I just haven't laughed in a long time and i-i don't know why it just made me sad because I love laughing a-and I didn't want to not do it but I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with my laughing because its hideous." You cried in your hands.

Ace gasped, "who said that to you? Why would you even believe that, you have the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. It reminds me of my little brother and let me tell you his smile is a sunshine!" You hiccup trying to calm your tears as you looked at Ace and he smiled down at you, "whoever made you feel like that about your smile will be dead by the time I get my hands on them, you should smile and laugh more, as much as your heart desires, I may not know a lot but I am sure that smiling is good for you." You chuckled at his words and nodded, "Come on now big smile." He smiled wide making you laugh.

Little by little you went back to your old self as if nothing happened and Ace made it his personal mission to make you smile or laugh at every moment he got the chance to. And without fail everytime he'll make you smile or laugh. It's been few months in that you joined the crew and today you were at some island looking around it's market for anything that caught your attention as Ace followed beside you, he had you wearing his hat as you both walked around, "Ace look" you showed him a dream Catcher that he liked and Literally gasped when he saw you holding it, "that's so beautiful! We should take it." You both were unaware of the clown pirate standing in few distance watching you both with a surprise look on his face; you were smiling wide that beautiful smile of your was back and it wasn't because of him but because of Ace, buggy doubted to approach you but decided against it because he knew that you will never smile around him ever again and Ace would've never have done it to steal your smile, he saw how you hugged Ace as you both laughed over whatever he whispered to you.

it's funny when people say "even in female-centric fandoms there's no F/F and people would rather pair up dudes!" both because I've been in several of those and that's never been the case - there's always a lot of it in any show where there are multiple relationships b/w women who matter, let alone a mostly-female cast - but i feel like the people who complain about this, you look at their fandoms and it's bunch a shows where there is technically more than one woman, and they interact somewhat, but the cast is still majority dudes. and their ships are all these rarepairs of women who barely interact. which is a totally legit way to do fandom, don't get me wrong, but it does make me wonder if some of these people are aware of what a female centric show really *is*. like you just want to lead them gently to the sailor moon or yellowjackets or madoka or killing eve or xena tags and be like, look, this is what we're talking about. and look how much of it is femslash, and how little of it is slash (even in sailor moon, with its canonical M/M couple, it's still femslash and het predominantly IME). like, i'm glad you're trying to make it happen for shows where the women are interesting but underexplored, or where they have brief glances of fascinating dynamics with women that we don't learn much of but could wonder what could have been. but when you have like 7 men in a main cast and only 2 women, you cannot be shocked when most of the fic is slash and/or het. like, avatar the last airbender is not a "female centric" show people just because it has women in it or doctor who (except mayyyyybe the seasons with a female doctor). that's not what we're talking about.

i mean, even in ensemble shows where there are women whose relationships with other women matter, even if it's not the focus and there are more men overall in the cast or an equal amount, you will get a substantial femslash fandom. it might not be the main event, but it will be there. glee was a badly-written mess of a show, but it had plot-relevant relationships between female characters. and so people were shipping rachel/quinn and santana/brittany even long before the latter couple was anywhere close to becoming canon. it was one of the biggest (and most drama-filled) femslash fandoms of the early 10s, even if the slash and het corners of glee fandom were bigger. but there was enough femslash that you absolutely could corral yourself in that corner of the fandom and ignore the rest of it. if you build it, they really will come (in more ways than one, heh)

People are terrible about going "But I love my blorbo! Surely, everyone else should!" in contexts where basic logic will tell you that ship or character is probably not going to launch a juggernaut fandom.

You breathe out and closed your eyes, focusing on warmth, and the gentle breeze outside-

Pain.

Fuck. You groaned, a bullet harshly in your upper thigh, deep and ripping, painful, like a burning needle shoved into the skin.

You slowly slide down the wall, sitting there and taking a deep breath.

This is bad. This is so bad.

Everything was going to shit. Your men have been getting killed and shot left and right and honestly, you weren’t doing so peachy either. You were shot in your shoulder, which on its own wasn’t that bad but getting a bullet in your thigh fucking sucked.

You hissed at the pain as you propped yourself against a wall, with a dead cartel member next to you. You raised one eyebrow, you knew him, a nice guy, shame he died. “Tú tampoco pareces estar muy bien.” You said to yourself, trying to ease the stress of the situation you were currently in. If you’re found, you’re as good as dead.

Your heart beats fiercely as blood spills out. The bullet didn't seem to touch your femoral artery which was a win, but you still weren't sure if you could go back into combat just yet.

You felt dizzy, surroundings getting blurry and mind being filled with fuzz until you fell into darkness. You didn't die, that's one thing you were sure of.

Loud stomping of boots and yelling was all you heard before warm, rough hands picked you up and held your hands together.

Then you felt being pushed around and what felt like being driven somewhere. You weren't asleep per se, but weak. Everything felt dizzy, weird and opening your eyes was a struggle, so you didn't fight it.

A cold barrel of a gun was pressed to your temple, and you instinctively tried to struggle, muscles flexing and working through stabs of pain.

There were multiple voices, some in Spanish and some in English but they all blurred together and you had no idea what they were saying. Maybe deciding whether to kill you or not.

Before you could even have a moment to realize where and what was happening, you felt a stabbing pain in your head and everything stopped, you were sent into black nothingness once again.

You felt disoriented, your breathing increased by a second. You had been waiting in this godforsaken shipping container for upwards of 10 minutes. You took notice that your wrists had been tied by zip ties.

You were captured, no doubt about that. It was quiet and you tried tugging at the zip ties but to no avail. While you were staring at the table in front of you, you did not notice the door sliding open and closing. You only came back into reality when you heard a chair being dragged across the floor and a person sitting down. As you glanced up, your breathing shuddered.

Fuck, the Captain of 141. You knew the guy, read through some of his files and briefly saw him in combat at the mansion.

He was sitting there, arms crossed and legs spread, making himself comfortable as he stared at you. You weren't a pretty sight at the moment, all bloody and dirty.

Silence was loud, not a single word was uttered for what felt like hours. Minutes passed and all you could think about was why were you still alive? You thought they'd only want Valeria. Maybe you being the second in command would be useful and they decided to keep you for a little longer. After a while of pondering you've had enough.

“Has she said anything yet?” The words are quiet. You were referring to Valeria as you were sure they had her in the same position at some other shipping container.

He didn’t respond and only stared deeper into your soul. He tilted his head, and fuck were his eyes gorgeous. He had those deep blue eyes, which held so many secrets in them. Those eyes that have been hardened by war but held a sort of softness to them.

You must've been staring as he broke contact and fixed his eyes on something else.

“Do you want it patched up?” Huh? You were confused for a second until you noticed him glancing towards your shoulder that was still bleeding and slightly aching. You weren’t gonna lie, getting it bandaged up sounded pretty damn nice, but why would he care about that? You were the "enemy" here and yet here he was asking if you wanted him to kiss the pain away.

Not wanting to admit it but also not wanting to bear this pain any longer you nodded slowly, unsure if he was joking or not.

He leaned forward, standing up as he headed towards the only entrance in the interrogation room. “I’ll be right back.” was the only thing you heard until the door was closed again. You heard a faint click and you were left only with your thoughts again.

You felt pathetic. Hopeless. Your body ached as you clenched your fists together. You stared at the floor, unmoving. He actually wanted to help you? No way, this had to be some kind of tactic right? Ain’t no way the captain of TF-141 wanted to actually help you and relieve your pain. This had to be a joke or something.

This time when you heard the door opening your head snapped up as you saw Price stepping in with an aid kit and some alcohol.

He grabbed the chair and dragged it so it was facing your wounded shoulder. He tore the thin shirt you were wearing and god damn you’d be lying if this wasn’t at least a little attractive until you noticed that half of your torso was now exposed on full display. He didn't seem too fazed as he grabbed a ball of cotton and started cleaning the wound and surprisingly enough he was quite gentle. He glanced up at you anytime you slightly winced asking if everything was okay.

You thought you were brought here to spill some information and not sit half naked in front of an incredibly gorgeous man who was patching up your wounds and asking if anything hurt. What a dream.

“How bad does it hurt?”

“I’ll live,”

“Atta boy” He muttered under his breath, it came out so silently you thought you imagined it. Maybe you did.

You clicked your tongue and winced in distress as the cold, damp, ball of cotton made contact with your skin, causing the wound to flare back to life with a sharp burning sensation.

“I know, I know, it's fine.” He whispered. His steady hands were skilled and he seemed to have experience in this. He watched as your eyes scrunched shut when he dabbed the cotton above the wound making him slightly pull it away.

Fuck, why was he so gentle with you? So careful and so attentive, like he actually liked you. Like he actually cared. Stupid, ain’t no way he would like you. You were part of the cartel and all he wanted was to get to your good side and get the info out of you before putting a bullet through your brain.

After a while, he seemed satisfied and next, he moved to the cut on your chest, seeming to not notice the hole in your thigh, which is honestly good. You didn't need him so close and personal right now. These couple days of non-stop stress were making you so bothered and him touching you was making you feel things you didn't want to admit right now.

Dragging the cotton across the skin, you began to relax into it, either closing your eyes or staring thoughtfully at the floor. Price found himself smiling faintly at the observation as he ran the cotton ball down your pec, catching your attention.

"What?" You asked, opening your eyes.

"What are you thinking?"

You frowned at him for a minute before raising a brow. "As if you don't know."

"I could guess," He breathed out, not taking his eyes off of the cut.

"Go ahead."

"Why?"

"I'm curious."

"You're trying to figure out why I’m being so nice to you." He tried out, gesturing towards the first wound he cleaned up. The bandages were holding nicely, no new blood. He did an excellent job at cleaning up if he said so himself.

The corners of your mouth twitched up and Price took that as a yes.

"I don't know. You’re smart.” Was all he said before placing the cotton ball on the table and grabbing some bandaids.

You shook your head, that didn’t exactly answer anything but you took the compliment, be it a lie or the truth. You swallowed, closing your eyes and letting the man in front of you do his thing.

You let yourself enjoy the little moment before being brought back into the harsh reality.

she literally did nothing worse than the rest of the team yet so many people hate her guts and there is a literal gwen bashing tag for her on ao3. just cause she's a complicated character and confident and assertive and oh yeah she had sexual tension with jack harkness who ended up w ianto in the end. god forbid.

fans think she "gets in the way" of the canon m/m pairing of the series just because she has straightbait scenes with one of the two guys. when in reality she literally has a husband and has been nothing but supportive of her friends and their relationship 😭 she tends to be written as like super insensitive and spoiled and its unbearable 

An amazing, badass woman who has a complicated relationship with Jack Harkness, 1/2 of “Janto,” the ship she “gets in the way of.” People use this slight complication to decide they HATE HER and turn her into this vile, evil, vindictive person. She often tries killing Ianto (other half of “Janto”) in many poorly-written fics, simply so that everyone can realise how badly they treat poor, poor Ianto. This makes Jack fall harder in love with Ianto xoxo Mwuah Mwuah and Gwen is hated and killed. This occurrence is so common that it has its own tag on AO3: “Gwen Bashing.” The writing, again, is always very bad, and solely created to make people hate Gwen. She’s chill in the actual show though. Very supportive of the two men and their relationship, and is literally happily married. She is not at all like what people make her out to be.

kairi is the third protagonist of the kingdom hearts series and the third member of the destiny trio, alongside fan favorites sora and riku. sora/riku shippers HATE kairi, and will go out of their way to discount her at every turn. the hate for her ranges from typical "she's a boring bitch" to fans of soriku making five-hour long video essays reassuring their fellow shippers that the big bad kairi won't show up in the next installment – to quote one video, "she's in a box. she's on the shelf. four walls, no door." kairi is the greatest bogeyman the soriku fandom has ever known, to the point where most of said video essays and fanon meta posts focus not on why sora and riku should get together, but rather on why they don't like kairi.

Literally has a 100+ page Google doc fan theory writing her out of the narrative and putting all of her (few) canonical accomplishments onto half of the popular m/m ship (soriku). Don't even get me started on how her memory was completely written out of the canon plot of re:coded. KH is a nightmare to explain so dude trust me she is THE victim of yaoi

She is so fundamental to the plot and themes and narratives of game and yet it is near impossible to find anything about her thats not ship bashing pre-mlm with the other two characters. Discussing fandom and its trends is one of my favorite things 🤓 I hope you don't mind me sharing some of the pseudotheories and pseudoanalyses I've seen before (to me they're all fun and I don't think they should be taken 100% seriously, please no one be offended)

1 The name of the boat that goes first is the favorite.

Quite funny in my opinion and from what I have seen it is not necessarily false, but many times it is that putting it differently sounds *wrong*, especially when they are combinations of the name

(Although after seeing that apparently apple radio and radioapple are not the same now I need an explanation of what radiosilent is as opposed to radiostatic)

2 The sub is The favorite

The first time I saw this was in a SW comment thread with a Chinese reader who was commenting with the author about top/Bottom preferences for the language and commented on this theory. They said that the Bottom gets all the love and since you want your favorite character to be adored that's why you write it like that

3 you project yourself into the Bottom

This came from another fandom, things got heated and toxic and a common accusation from a ship is that half the ship "had no personality" and they were using it to project themselves into a relationship whith the top

Personally I think they are all true to some extent, but I also see them as renunciationist and I myself am not without my own prejudices.

Part of the problem is that in relationships m/m and w/w, they continue to be written as one part a hairy-chested alpha male and the other part a blushing, submissive (and I have a weakness for ABO bulbs but there the problem is worse). In the case of radioapple Alastor has been reduced to his ego and need for control (so he could never let go. And is there something strangely allosexual about the way they write it?) and Lucifer to his depression (so he needs to be adored... And the truth is, I do think 3 applies here)

With what we see, I think that Lucifer has no problem being at the bottom, but his preference is at the top, even bordering on the Dom.Lucifer has insecurity and depression but he also knows he is powerful and we see him being authoritarian even if he later recants.He seems to be the type who would enjoy being the one to give pleasure to his partner, but I also don't see him giving up control easily when there are already so many things in his life out of control.Lucifer doesn't want someone to come in and take control by emptying his head, he wants something he can control and show exactly how good he is at it.

Alastor, on the other hand (this is where my prejudice comes in): what does he gain by being the top? Some kind of power play? Because I feel like Alastor can find that high without involving genital play.How ace (and probably aroace and almost certainly on the gray or demi side for most fics to work) Alastor would need something more to really get involved like that, which is why I feel like the top Alastor fics almost always feel too Allo for my taste, he just fucks like anyone else.When Alastor is the Bottom the writer gives him a little more nuance.

So that's my two cents to the discussion 🙃

(I too would like to know the difference between radiosilence and radiostatic - i see a lot of different names pop up for Alastor/Vox, whether its reciprocal or unrequited, and I can't keep up with it. I think radiosilence means the attraction is one-side? Maybe?? I think??

I can see the logic behind people having their fav be the bottom because they want them to feel loved and adored. I, too, am guilty of this. It also probably helps that the top is usually depicted as doing most of work LOL (Bringing Doms and Subs into this, there are a lot of fics that explore sub-drop, usually with their fav character--which I totally get--but it'd be interesting to read more fics that explore dom-drop too).

Very much agreed. I enjoy Omegaverse fics too, but it's one of those fanfic tropes that I'm picky about. It needs to be written a certain way for me to really enjoy it.

I don't know, just the default that one person has to be dominate and the other has to submissive never sat right with me. For a long time, I was super squicked out by even the thought of being in a relationship because of this. I'm a small person, most people are taller than me, and I'm pretty thin, so the mental assumption that I'd have to be "the submissive one," considering that's what almost always happens in these depicted relationships, made me feel so much anger, anxiety, and discomfort. I hated the thought that that's what would be expected of me. (Personal lore drop: considering I also grew up in a hyper-religious, extremely patriarchal town, the expectation felt 10x worse and 100x more real. I dreaded getting older and starting romantic/sexual relationships).

Also, yes, with a lot of top!Alastor content I've seen, there is something very strangely allosexual about it. Or, at least that's how it comes off to me. Asexuality is a spectrum, so there's no "perfect" way to be ace, it's just...there's just something about it that feels very allosexual, and maybe why I keep shying away from it. It squicks me out a bit, ngl.

People keep saying they see Lucifer as a switch, and funnily enough, it was actually confirmed by Vivenne Mendrano that he canonically is a switch! Of course, if people want to see him exclusively as a bottom or top, that's fair. You do you, boo. We're here to have a good time. I keep Alastor exclusively as a bottom, though. Some of it is because I see him being kind of grossed out with the idea of a part of him going into someone else (hello self projection!) but I also see him generally being sex-indifferent. Like, he'll have sex, and he'll enjoy it, but it's not something he typically seeks out for himself. Maybe once in a way, when he's in the ✨mood✨ he'll initiate. If his partner wants sex and he doesn't, he's not forcing himself. If his partner wants sex and he's kind of just vibing--not feeling horny, but not really against it either--yeah, he'll have sex. It's not like he's getting nothing out of it, he still feels and enjoys the pleasure in the act, even if he's generally indifferent towards doing it.

If he's comfortable with it he'll even indulge their kinks (and indulge his own 😉 not all kinks have to be sexual, afterall. And even if his are, that is still valid and does not take away from his sexuality because aces can still have sexual kinks 🫵 I'm looking at you, people who assume aces can't have sexual desires). (I also gave Alastor a power kink 😏 because I think he'd be into his partner displaying immense amounts of power. It doesn't even have to be directed at him. He'll watch his boo destroy a city block and then fuck them later because that was hawt.)

A lot of it could also be because he feels too allo for me when he is written as a top. Lol "he fucks like everyone else," is a very good way to put it 😂 When he bottoms, it feels like he's written with more of his ace-identity in mind, which I love!

But also, I like Alastor being a bottom just because. I vibe with it. 'Nuff said.

If you're asking about otps within the X-Men or Marvel as a whole, then no, I don't have any other otps besides cherik. Cherik is my love, my life, the One True Pairing~~

ofc this doesn't mean i'm not open to other ships... i enjoy reading or seeing the multitude of ships within the X-Men fandom, but none have screamed "OTP!!!" at me, so yeah...

BUT if you're asking outside the xmen/marvel fandom... THEN YES I DO HAVE OTHER OTPS!!!! and i'm screaming about them rn!!!

unfortunately the otps i love (other than cherik) is not popular, like, at all. it's not from famous western media and the fanfics about them in ao3 is so... few. like, 30 tops. it makes me soo sad, but I'm kinda hesitant to scream about them on this blog because this is, primarily, a cherik blog and people don't know them, y'know?

I won't mention the name of the ship(s) (i want to keep you guessing muahaha) but I have two other otps

a) This one, let's call it the S/W ship. (It's m/m, in case you're confused). it has TONS of parallels to cherik. for instance, both guys love each other so, so much, but because they have different ideologies, they're standing on opposite sides of the war. (it's so much like cherik damn it).

there was this scene, where W sneaks into a place to steal confidential information and stuff. He runs into S, and basically S holds him (W) at gunpoint. the two are bickering, fighting and persuading each other to abandon their ideologies...

And all this time S is holding W at gunpoint, as I mentioned, but W is super chill about it. He's fine. He doesn't even flinch lol.

But when W's fellow spies arrive and they point all their guns at S... That's when W really panics and loses it.

"Don't shoot! Don't shoot! DON'T SHOOT!"

W yelled like three times, and, I kid you not, he looked so, so panicked and afraid that they would shoot S. ...like, if this doesn't scream love what does? When someone points a gun at you you're fine, but when people point gun at your husband you panic? GAYYYY

Okay, here's another parallel with cherik: I'm sure cherik fans know the infamous scene where Pyro basically says, we should've killed Prof X, and Magneto goes, bitch you did *not* just say that!

Well, this ship has a similar scene like that!! Basically there's a confrontation between W and S's secretary, who says W is nothing but trash without S.

Now at this point in time W and S are basically divorced/they've went their separate ways because of their different ideologies etc, AND THEN ofc S defends W, vehemently.

And then a bad guy pops up and he's accusing S of a crime. [Actually the one who did this "crime" is W, but he's managed to hide his tracks well].

When W realizes that the Bad Guy wants to put S in jail (even tho there's no proof that S did it), he willingly admits that he did the "crime". Now, mind you, this is the guy who went to great lengths to protect himself and erase all evidence about the crime, and he's been in hiding for a while, but because he doesn't want S to go to jail, he willingly admits he did it.

AND THEN, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, S takes the blame for the crime.

(are you confused? Here's a shortened version of events):

Bad Guy: S, you're suspected of a crime. I'm taking you to jail.

W: No!!! The truth is, I did it!!

S: No, I did it. W is just working for me, he is my person!!

W: No!!! I'm not working for you anymore!! (we're divorced remember?)

S: Shut up, I'm the one who did it!

W: No!!! Bad Guy, you have to believe me, I did it!!!

Bad Guy: ...stop flirting in front of me, okay? If you both want to go to jail just go together and flirt there.

Yeah, that's.. basically what happened.

I may have spiralled a bit, this is so long lol. That's my first OTP :)
