So it was set during the Sunshot Campaign, vivid war setting, a lot of explicit sexual content,a long fic I think but definitely more than 10k. It was about Wangxian getting too during the war. I remember only some bits. LWJ asked JC for permission to get married or something of the sort and JC got mad because he thought LWJ was joking but started to negotiate with LXC when it became apparent he was not. Before the final battle WWX promised LWJ that they won't die.During the final battle LWJ got hurt and seemingly died and WWX lost control and made a giant earthquake that collapsed Koi Tower with JGS inside. LWJ was kind of dead for a while but his spirit stuck around (I don't remember why really just that maybe it was part of some spell?) and WWX managed to resurrect him but he needed to regain his memories slowly.

It's discovered that, to escape the loss of his loved ones and the abuse at the Jin's hands, that he's grown a new core while dreaming and can now dream cultivate. 3. looking for a fic that's set during the sunshot campaign, after wwx leaves the burial mounds and is found by lwj and jwy. all I recall is one chapter where jwy attacks wwx and endangers wwx. lwj rescues wwx and takes him to the medical tent, and then confronts jwy. I believe the fic author provided two versions of lwj's confrontation w jwy, one of which is a full on physical fight. does this ring a bell? thanks! @potatokunst

I can't remember exactly how wwx and lwj meet, but I think they promised each other that they would marry. lwj then goes home and finds out that his marriage has been arranged - turns out it was wwx's family who got too excited and asked behind his back. 11. I cannot for the life of me remember this fic although I'm sure it's a time travel fix it. The scene that has been stuck in my head is:

During the sunspot campaign (?) jzx admits he wants to marry jyl, and wwx and jwy sit down to negotiate the terms (it is implied that they're going to take him for everything he's got and he's going to let them). Just then mianmian bursts in towing a very confused jgy who then realised what's going on.

I thought it might be paper moon but they never broke their bethrothal. I've gone through my bookmarks and still can't place the scene. Please help!! @theladypeartree

I did check the Wayback Machine but the fic isn't available there (but here is that link too if interested: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41843295 ) // Number 12 for yesterday’s fic finder sounds like “Son Of A Soldier Man” by FireAwayy. They deleted some of their fics a while back including this one. The fic is not available on the wayback machine but you can access it, chapter by chapter, through cached search results. I haven’t been able to find all the chapters but I imagine some more sleuthing can dig them up. You can follow this tutorial for info on how to access cached pages. Note that Google Chrome no longer caches links, so you have to use an alternative like Microsoft Bing (ext for Chrome available) to access.

13. For fic finder: My apologies if I recently sent in this ask: this fic has been on my brain for the last few days and I can’t remember if I already wrote in about it or not! It was a modern au about pro e-sports. The different sects are different gaming teams in this fic. WWX was accused of cheating a few years back and had to leave the Jiang team. LWJ, captain of Lan team, eventually finds WWX again and asks to enter a competition with WWX, and I think together they can pull off some kind of special move in-game that shows they have incredible teamwork or something. The fic reminded me of the danmei novel God Level Summoner, but I think the general theme of “fallen champion player gets back on his feet and wins the league” is pretty common in esports stories.

At some point point lwj is forced to make a speaking presentation in on of his classes and he prerecords a video to show in class instead due to his anxiety, also somewhwere in the story jiang cheng helps him through a panic attack. 15. Hello, thank you for all your help! I am now looking for a fic where Wei Wuxian was raised as Jiang Cheng's whipping boy. This was a common practice among the gentry except for in the Lan clan. JC grew up and he tried not to do anything that would lead to WWX being whipped in his place but during the Cloud Recesses lectures Jin Zixuan demands WWX be whipped and JC can’t really stop it. Lan Wangji tried to intervene but Lan Qiren held him back saying not to get involved in other sect’s conflict. I think Meng Yao was also a designated whipping boy for Huaisang, possibly all the whipping boys for all the young masters also attended the lectures as manservants? 23, which is honestly more then i expected but worlds less then i actually write. i also cleared out a few a few months back so it was a bit more this time last year

just gonna post top 3 but its You fuck like a demon (a good omens fic that i dont really like anymore but i dont dislike it enough to take it down), an unrightful claim to the throne (a drawtectives fic that i actually really like about york fighting his brother to the death so that one can be crowned prince) and His body was found days before it was discovered (which is one of my all time fave fics ive written, very in my wheelhouse and very me)

i do! and i do because i love and enjoy them and i like engaging! i also feel like it encourages more comments cause readers know i check them

its been deleted now but i want to rework it and repost it at some point, but it was an mdzs + dead ringers au where basically post jgy's death, lwj tries to support lxc but they become horrifically co-dependant

now hear me out,,, an au where lan wangji is an editor who works for an erotica publisher and wei wuxian is essentially chuck tingle. (also lwj writes romance novels on the side)

wei wuxian didn’t plan to write erotica he wants to make that really clear, he was actually studying like biomed or something equally “oh wow my parents can brag to the other parents about this”

but, as frequently happens in wwx’s life, he got drunk with nhs, like really drunk and they woke up the next morning with a laptop on the floor beside them and loose paper strewn everywhere

when he starts reading it, at first he’s like haha what the fuck this is so weird but then it turned out to be really good??? and nhs blushed at some of the ~sexy~ scenes so that’s how wwx knew he was writing the good stuff

anyway they’re sitting there, eating their hangover food and wei wuxian goes so uh my story was good right? and nhs is like yeah it was, top stuff i would buy it and wei wuxian goes what if i actually wrote it,,, haha just kidding,,,,, unless?

and in his defence he doesn’t actually write anything for the story for another like three months but then he finds himself in the middle of exam season and he’s like fuck it stress relief let’s write some erotica

wwx blusters about a bit bc how is he meant to respond to that and nhs is like maybe you’ll finally move on from reading those trashy romance novels and read something more exciting and wwx is like how dare you call them trashy!! hanguang-jun is a master of the romance novels!! he understands the heart in a way that no other person has ever!!

and nhs just chugs a bunch of wine and is like yeah hon okay, do you still blush when the main characters hold hands? and wwx is like no! of course not! (it’s a lie, he blushes a lot)

so nothing really happens with the book at first and wwx forgets about it for the most part but then he wakes up one morning and he’s got an extra like RMB 1000 (i dont actually know much about currency so it’s roughly $200 if my quick interneting is legit)

wwx is like wtf? and once he finds out it’s from his novel he’s doubly like wtf? but then he finds out that someone had purchased his book and did a dramatic reading on youtube bc wwx decided that regular erotica was boring and decided to make it satirical or whatever and people loved it??

he’s got nothing better to do so he just goes hm yeah remember that Author i dated who had an “incredible idea that would absolutely amaze The Critics and helped explore his own convoluted mind” let’s make something of that and he writes another book kinda mocking that idea in a very horny way.

he publishes it and someone writes a review of his two books on their blog and now he’s actually starting to get popular - he’s got more money from those two books than he did by working at the local cafe for the whole week

to hoard promises that could sniff out the lie by Mayarene Rose. 3zun, 50k, T, pacrim au. please. my god. if you’re gonna read any fic on the list, read this one. i don’t know shit about pacific rim and i loved this. it cycles between their povs and it is AMAZING. it GETS the 3zun dynamic so well. im choked up thinking about it. the epitome of “they’re in love and it wasn’t enough.”

favor by venndaai. T, 30k, focus is xiyao but 3zun is important too, hunger games au. WIP!!! this makes me SO emotional. meng yao volunteers in nie huaisang’s place and meets lan xichen in the games. im miserable over this. the prose is gorgeous and i don’t know where it’s going but i am delighted to see where!

MY LOVE IS THE KILLING KIND (BAD END FICS)

M, 26k, canon divergent au. 3zun, focus on nieyao. technically a jennifers body au. this is one of my favorite 3zun fics of ALLLLLL time. its a GREAT character study of nmj and how a demon whose power you absorbed for your own and an evil spirit that you let corrupt your soul arent all that different in the end, huh!!! the ending is so tasty. my god. i love this one.

Cry a river, call it rain by rheawrites. 2.6k, E, modern au. jgy kidnaps xichen. that’s it. that’s the fic. i love it

qinghe triptych by bloodletter. E, 3 part series, canonverse mostly nieyao but part three is sangyao and mosang. 40k total. a three-part examination on the qinghe trio and a three-part breaking of my heart. each fic is gutting and beautifully written and UGHHHHHH I DONT HAVE THE WORDS I JUST WANNA WAILLLLLL

there is the way the air feels by nenyanaryavilya. 9k, xiyao, modern au. E jgy visits lan xichen in his big lonely manhattan apartment. some FUCKED UP xiyao vibes that i love a lot, thanks.

The Mountain Stood So Large by esperra. 16k, M, canonverse. very 3zun. two weeks before nmj’s death, lxc and jgy take him on a night hunt. what follows is some light horror, a lot of hallucinations, and a character study on what it feels like to be unable to trust your own mind.

Omg, I had forgotten about Blue’s Clues that was my nephew, niece and my kids favorite show when they were young, I still sing the mail song when I come inside the house with mine. Lol. It drive my kids crazy but it’s kind of catchy. ‘Here’s the mail, it never fails, it makes me want to wag my tail...’

I love how insigful was your reply and you got me seeing them in a new light. Its always interest to me to see how others see the characters they love; not only do you learn so much one from the person answering but also from the characters, is like suddenly you see them in a new dimension you hand’t even thought of before or maybe just haven’t let yourself see.

I see what you did there, you turn the question on me. Its funny but I haven’t thought about this question in great detail maybe is because I haven’t actually sat down and ask myself this exact question. However, now that is being ask my mind comes blank, well that’s not true I do want to say Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji but in a way I would be lying to a point. I do love them what’s not to love about them but the more that I think about this question the more I find myself asking not who do I like but more of which characters I find interesting, and that’s when names fly through my mind quicker than my hands can write. So to answer your question to a point the characters I find fascinating are as follow:

Lan Jingyi- I find him interesting maybe because he reminds me so much of myself that would just blurt things that were supposed to never be said but never fully understood why you shouldn’t.

Jin Ling- I don’t find him so much fascinating but the mother in me is sad that he never knew his mom and we know that Jiang Yanli wanted him so much she love him from the moment she knew she was pregnant.

Lan Xichen- My feelings for this character are divided, in one hand I like him that he love his brother there was never a doubt that he was nice and kind again no doubt but in the other hand I kind of hate him a bit for letting himself be influence and believe someone that he knew for just so little time compare to his brother that he had known longer.

Ahh it's true mdzs has so many interesting characters! I'd probably write half of them because they're all so unique and well crafted and just you seem to sympathize and understand all of their pov it's a struggle 😭

Oomph yess great choices! It's adorable you're like Jingyi,, I love him so much. He's so chaotic and definitely the most unlan lmao. But I love that about him. And Jin Ling ngl the first time I watched the series i didnt pay much attention to Jin Ling or well I did but I just thought of him as a nuisance but during the rewatch and while reading the novel I got a better understanding of him and just his story is extremely sad too :( I would do anything to have yanli and zixuan getting to see jin ling grow up

Ahh xichen, I understand what you mean but for me I dont think i can bring myself to hate him. Cause idk if one would call it a flaw or not but xichen is inherently a kind and compassionate person, he is too trusting. The thing is that jiggy was just too good at manipulating him. If we look at it from lxc's pov jiggy literally made no mistakes. He never let xihcne catch a whiff of what he was doing, not until if we're talking cql verse when lan zhan brings wei ying back after his injuries and jiggy tells him that wwx has been busy causing trouble in the burial mounds and xichen realises that that cant be possible cause wei wuxian is literally behind the screen atm.

Ig he could've trusted wangji but I sorta think that maybe xichen had doubts that wangji was blinded by his love or smthn for wwx but also the thing is once wwx and lwj brought it to his knowledge that jiggy might be behind all of this he doesn't cut out or dismiss their argument, he's in a way too righteous as well because he's going to listen to both the sides because thats just him haha (sorry I went on a whole ramble here djfjfj I had no idea I had so many hidden emotions for him lol)

I really think every character introduced in the series had a purpose so it's so hard to remove them from the story XD the easiest one out of all of them is Sect Leader Yao because I HATE HIM. So so much, no one else invokes this level of negative emotions in me than him 😫😂 the next one would be jin zixun cause again he is ANNOYING. Literally zero skill and only talking trash 😒 also if he's gone then jin zixuan wont die and the whole Qiongqi Path incident wont happen (if no one else is brought instead of him) saves everyone win win :D

Wang Lingjiao (lmao I'm literally picking all of them based on annoyance) but I don't think I would not want her to exist cause then how will we have the 'You like MianMian line' and dense!wwx moment lol. Idk who the third one will be? Who would you pick?
