It was nearing midnight, yet someone still had the audacity to knock on Ryuko Umemoto’s door. I mean, he was planning on pulling an all-nighter anyway to finish animating before the deadline hit, but come on! At this hour?!
Heaving a sigh of frustration, Ryuko got up and opened the door to find…nothing but two packages. Huh? They couldn’t even show up in person…?
Eh, whatever. At least someone got him something, right? Let’s hope to fuck that this isn’t a prank or some shit! Opening the packages, inside was…
…A monitor and a box of chocolates! There’s a letter attached to the chocolate box, let’s give it a read, shall we?

‘Umemoto-san,
Greetings. I know we don’t know each other that well, but I am your Secret Santa this year!
Animating is hard, isn’t it? I’ve heard of how terribly overworked animators often are, so I hope you’ve been getting enough sleep. Please remember to take care of yourself.
I don’t know much about technology so I’m not sure of the technicalities of this monitor, but it’s the latest model! I think it can really help you. Unless you already bought one? If so, I apologize.
Also, a box of chocolates for this holiday. You deserve something nice.
I hope you and the rest of Sazanka Zombies have a great Christmas!
By Koyumi.’
(i’m so sorry for sending this in twice i realized i forgot the pictures IM SO SORRY PLEASE DELETE THE OTHER ONE 😭😭😭)
With an annoyed scoff at the uncertain tone of the letter, Ryuko nonchalantly tossed the letter aside with the rest of his dark, messy apartment. Looking over the box of the monitor, the ex-yakuza glared at the box, reading the labels with a critical eye. Surprisingly, despite the sender being unfamiliar with technology, he found that as she had said it is a recent monitor. A pretty good one too, which Ryuko would only give a curt nod to himself in approval.
However, his sleep deprived, hungry brain went to the box of chocolates. The glaring bright green box wasn't of importance, in fact an annoyance to Ryuko. The contents inside were his target instead. Some cocoa pieces packed with sugar was sure to be a good bit of fuel to get through this hellish time crunch.
Carefully, the monitor was set aside. As appreciative as he was for the gift, setting it up to his current work desk would have to wait. Instead he carried the box of chocolates to his desk, threw the lid off and sat down.
"Duty calls..."
And back to work Ryuko went.
Thank you for the gift! And don't worry! I could work with or without the images honestly ahaha
