October 1st, 1989.

    A small woman glided to and fro within her dwelling in the city, lightly humming through a soft smile that sat upon her carefully painted lips. The apartment was quiet, save for Annette’s voice swimming in the air, and sly slivers of sunlight began to peek through the windows, illuminating the worn-but-good furnishings, the leftover plates from her husband’s early breakfast before he left for his shift, and the clothes that were tossed erratically from last night’s spontaneous wine and dine.

    Briefly gliding her eyes over to the window facing outwards to the street, Annette could spot the precious shimmer of morning dew on the leaves of her lovely poppy flowers, the buds facing the sky to receive a kiss from the sun to leave their petals blushing red, and in a flourish, she twirled over and jerked the curtains aside to bathe in the little rain of light, sighing with content and setting her hands on her hips.

This was a perfect morning.

Her little flowers were perfect.

Her husband was perfect.

His job was perfect.

Annette was perfect.

Her job was perfect.

    Their apartment was a little less than perfect, but Annette didn’t mind a single bit.

    Making sure the locks to the window were latched as to not allow any Autumn bugs to wander into her comfortable abode and ruin it for her, Annette resumed her humming and skipped back into the living space of the apartment, eventually spinning her way to the kitchen to fix up a perfect breakfast to go with her perfect morning. Glancing to the oven clock as she cracked an egg into a bowl, she blinked in surprise; She’d expected it to be close to six o’clock or seven o’clock, but instead it was actually a quarter to eight in the morning.

    Annette shrugged it off, scattering salt and pepper over the egg yolk before snatching up a fork and whipping it until the liquid in the bowl was yellow, and twirling around, she diced a few slices of ham, dumping it into the mixture before getting a pan onto the stove, firing up one of the burners, and gracing the surface of the pan with a bit of vegetable oil.

    Allowing the pan to heat up before dumping the egg - and - ham mixture into it , it took less than a few minutes before the egg was cooked thoroughly, and Annette was quick to plate it, and set the pan aside to cool off, dancing as she shut off the gas and beheaded the flames that danced from it. It was a perfect breakfast, not too salty, not too raw, and not burnt. Sheepishly nibbling on it, she took a deep breath, thankful for such a blessed morning, and she practically dared God to make her day better.

    As if on cue, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, and hissing and pressing a flat palm against her belly, Annette forced herself out of her seat, huffing lightly to relieve herself of the sudden sweat and body heat that rose to her skin. Gritting her teeth, she wobbled and staggered on, grabbing at the wall and scraping her nails against the doorways as she pushed herself around, until finally, she stumbled into the bathroom.

    Slowly, she forced herself to look down at herself, and her eyes bugged out from her head and her jaw dropped open in horror.

    She was more than bloated; She had ballooned up like a Looney Toons cartoon, and her belly was expanding by the second!

    Annette clawed at the bathroom wallpaper that she never liked in the first place, wildly panting as she climbed into the bathtub and hurriedly tore her clothes off of her. She’d just tossed aside her undergarments when she tossed her head and let out a bloodcurdling scream followed by a miserable whimper.

    Her thighs were shaking as they instinctively pulled apart, making room for her ever-swelling paunch, when she dug her claws into the thin curtains and tore at them, letting out another sharp cry as her tears cooled her hot cheeks. Pain shot up into her spine and travelled throughout her body, wincing and giving strong hisses when she cramped up.

    It felt as if someone was carving her up with a red hot knife, and she could not stand it. She wanted this to be a dream, she wanted to wake up in the arms of husband again, to watch her perfect sunrise from before, to dance in her living room again. As the pain continued, the hours blurred together, and Annette gained a rhythm of push and breathe; It was obvious to her now, she was giving birth to a child she never carried.

    She cried up to heaven, screaming and wailing for the pain to subside, to end, and when she didn’t get her wish, she whispered curses to the devil, never to allow such hushed, venomous words to fall unto holy ears.

    As her sensitive folds threatened to tear and blood and bodily fluid pooled at the tail of her spine, Annette wearily picked her head up and felt her heart nearly stop; She could make out a tiny, drenched head poking out of her. She was almost done! It was... a miracle. From God himself.

    Sure, she could’ve gotten pregnant months before, but she would’ve been alerted to it, she would’ve noticed her slowly growing tummy and morning sickness, and she would’ve taken a test. The woman’s thoughts distracted her, but her body had taken over at this point, desperate to push the tiny pup into the world, and her voice was weakly mewling, tired and dry from all her screaming and pleading.

    Mere minutes passed, and before she could think anything of it, she was shushing the child— her child— and holding the darling thing to her bare chest. Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks as she attempted to wrap her head around how precious this angel was, how she would smother it in love and affected, never raise her voice at it, even if she wanted to, and how she would prepare meals.

    It wasn’t until the bathroom door swung open and smacked the wall behind it, that she remembered her husband. Sixto was dumbfounded at the sight. He had expected to see his wife, bathing with a glass of wine; He would’ve walked over and pressed a kiss to her forehead as they exchanged greetings. Annette would ask how his day went, and he’d tell her the usual office gossip that floated around. She’d giggle and kiss his cheek before asking what he’d like for dinner. He would shake his head with a grin before whispering, “Whatever you’d like, dear”.

    Instead, the tub was dry, save for the blood and fluid that was caked onto its pristine white bowels. Annette wasn’t relaxing, her eyes heavy from crying, and her body shaking like a leaf. He could hear the raspiness of her voice with every huff, and even when she reached out for him, whispering his name, Sixto was planted to the floor as if it was a nightmare. His eyes were fixed on the child that snoozed peacefully on her breast, tiny head, tiny lips, tiny nose, tiny eyes.

    Finally, he dropped his briefcase to the floor, inching closer as he hurriedly threw off his coat, eyes never wavering from the figure. Sixto crouched down next to the tub, gripping it’s edge and sucking in a breath.

The noise stirred the child.

    He could feel his wife’s eyes search his face for emotion, trying to find anger, sadness, happiness, anything, but he couldn’t bring himself to do express anything. His features were empty. The infant was shaky, clutching against its mother in an attempt to keep warm. Sixto stood and walked out of the bathroom abruptly, causing a bit of panic to strike Annette, who nearly climbed out of the tub to chase after him, but she relaxed when he re-emerged with an armful of towels and washcloths. He lightly opened the water and nudged his wife’s shuddering legs away from the icy cold water that spewed out the faucet, only letting them slide back when the water became a gentle, welcoming warm temperature.

    The male paid no mind to Annette softening with her adoring eyes fixed on him and how he cupped his hands under the running water to toss it on her legs to wash away whatever residue was still stuck on her. After accustoming her to the warmth, Sixto poured some body wash soap onto a washcloth and readied himself to clean Annette when she leaned forward and reached out for his arm.

    He turned to her, his eyes meeting hers for the first time since he walked in. His wife’s lips curled into a smile, and he found himself returning one before pressing a small kiss to her forehead.

    Whatever happened was in the past now. This child was their own little miracle, a little secret to keep between the both of them.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?: I would be 28........ Honestly i don’t know. I just hope I am happy, I worked a bit on my novel, I at least completed my first game.

If you could be anywhere else in the world where would it be? Somewhere where there is snow! I want to touch it and feel it! There is no snow here!

Favortie 90′s show: I,, wasn’t alive in the 90s. Scooby doo? Was scooby doo on in the 90s? I would watch old scooby DVD’s all the time as a kid. And mostly WWII era looney toons. It’s weird because most of the entertainment I grew up with was from 1925-1975 and 2000-2010.

Stupidest Thing I've ever done?: So I've spent most of my life in and out of hospitals and when I was about six me and my brother, who was four at the time decided it would be a great idea to pretend we were Looney toons characters. There were the big concrete poles leading towards the cafeteria(they were barred and decorated) and we decided they would be the perfect props for our game. In short, we spent thirty minutes taking turns running into those poles.
