Compliment time!: I really love seeing your takes on the Dragon Age universe in general, especially when it comes to the Circles and the funky power dynamics happening in Kirkwall. While I feel like there are definitely places for like, real world/external analysis of the games, I find a lot of fandom trends wayyy too far in this direction for my liking. Basically, my own views on Bioware writers could probably be summed as like, 'are they imperfect and get things wrong sometimes? absolutely! are they doing it on purpose to spread a particular narrative the way some people in the fandom seem to believe? no, or at least, not any more than every single one of us is influenced by own preconceived beliefs and biases in everything we create'. SO, what I'm saying is that I like how a lot of your meta considers both like, the external real world factors (i.e, the writing team and development time etc), and the in-universe factors that have lead to a certain thing. I tend to focus more on purely in-universe analysis just because of my sheer exhaustion with the fandom culture of 'everything my blorbo did is because they are right about everything ever and if they ever did anything i don't agree with it's because the writers wrote them wrong', I have a lot more fun looking at characters as well-rounded people with flaws who can both do great things and fuck up! So I really appreciate that there are people who have the brain power to combine both approaches, because I, alas, do not, because I am tired and I mostly want to just vibe and write weird smut and soul destroying angst.
