Tiara Highlights of 2024
Going into 2024 I expected it to be a boring year for tiara but I was glad to be wrong!
The New Queen Mary

Last January, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark shocked everyone by abdicating in favor of her son Frederik. The most exciting part to me of course was getting to see the new Queen Mary start to use the Danish Crown Jewels and the jewels from the Danish Royal Property Trust. Mary didn't disappoint and quickly wore the Emerald Parure Tiara for her first official portrait and the Pearl Poiré Tiara for the state visit to Norway. But not content with now having access to all three of the Danish big guns tiaras, Queen Mary worked with the Danish Royal Collection to create a new Diamond Bandeau Tiara out of the largest rose cut diamonds from a diamond belt in the crown jewels that hadn't been worn in a century. She's truly embodying the spirit of her namesake and patron saint of royal jewelry fans, Queen Mary of the United Kingdom. There are still quite a few pieces that she hasn't worn so I'm excited for the future.
Rediscovery of Queen Mary's Lozenge Tiara

Probably the biggest news for us royal jewelry watchers was the rediscovery of Queen Mary's Lozenge Tiara in the collection of Queen Azizah of Pahang. Saad Salman from The Royal Watcher noticed the similarities of the two tiaras while at the wedding of Prince Muhammad and Natasya Adnan in October. He mentioned it to Queen Azizah who graciously allowed him to examine the tiara and determined that they were indeed the same piece. She had purchased the "lost" tiara in New York City in 1988 with no idea of it's previous royal provenance and it's been worn by her family ever since.
Malaysian Tiara Buying Bonanza

I don't know what was going on in Malaysia this year but everyone decided they needed a new tiara. Did they get some sort of Groupon or maybe a BOGO deal? This doesn't even include two tiaras that were made from previously owned necklaces. Crown Princess Zaheeda of Kedah, Princess Julie of Kedah, Princess Aminah of Johor, Queen Zarith Sofiah of Johor, Princess Afzan of Pahang, and Queen Norashikin of Selangor all debuted brand new tiaras.
Princess Sofia's Surprise

In April, Princess Sofia debuted London blue topaz gemstones for the top of her signature Palmette Tiara bringing the total different versions of the tiara up to seven. But that somehow wasn't the biggest tiara news for her this year because in December she surprised us all by wearing the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara for the first time! She had worn the Palmette Tiara for every single tiara event since 2017 and 27 times in a row!
Opening of the Buckingham Palace Vault

With a new reign means a new person in charge of loaning out jewelry and King Charles and Queen Camilla seem to have a much more 'jewelry is meant to be worn' approach than the late Queen. In addition to her standard Greville Honeycomb Tiara, Queen Camilla has worn six new to her tiaras since becoming queen. I didn't expect her to wear new ones quite so quickly but I have really enjoyed seeing her explore the vault. They also have a jewelry is meant to be shared mentality that I am loving! Queen Elizabeth II tended to give out a few long term loans to each person and that was the only person that wore that piece of jewelry. This year, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore the Lotus Flower Tiara which was on loan to the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla wore the Five Aquamarine Tiara that was on loan to the Duchess of Edinburgh. I don't think the BRF are suddenly going to be at the level of Dutch or Swedish jewelry sharing but they are certainly moving in the right direction.

30. Diamond
@jegulus-microfic | March 30: diamond | word count: 619
If there was one thing that Regulus Black was known for it was being picky.
James has been thinking about this for months, even now as he walks back to their apartment he can't help but think about it.
Regulus had grown up in a fancy house in London with butlers and people who were willing to adhere to his every whim. This of course makes him, frankly at times, a very spoiled boy. While he had grown out of some of his habits from childhood, one thing neither of the Black brothers could ever outgrow was their expensive taste.
James has never minded this, he knew about all of the things that Regulus liked well before they got together. He loves Regulus and is more than happy to indulge him with all of those things.
This all tied into his dilemma.
Since he has never shied away from buying Regulus gifts. It's one of his many love languages. If he sees something that Regulus might like he will immediately buy it and give it to him, he won't even wait for a birthday or special occasion.
One of the things he will often buy for Regulus is jewelry. His boyfriend loves it, he trades out rings, necklaces, and earrings.
So what do you give your significant other that has a large assortment of rings (a lot of which) you buy for him yourself) each just as fancy as the next for an engagement ring?
This has been driving him crazy.
There are of course a few things that he knows. Like that he wants to get it engraved so that even if it is not custom-made it will be special, he knows it has to be silver, and he knows that it should not be overly flashy.
At the moment his biggest dilemma is what stone he will use. A diamond? no, too classic and boring. Pearl? too simple. Alexandirat? no blue wasn't either of their colors. Birth month stone? Basic. Opal, Emerald, Topaz… nothing seemed right. Nothing screamed, “Regulus Black I love you, marry me”.
He has seen hundreds of rings by now. Passed by so many jewelry stores, and had seen rings that Regulus would love…so why can't he seem to pick one?
Realistically James is aware that regardless of the ring that he gets him he will say yes. But how could he propose if he doesn't even know what stone Regulus would want? Isn't there some sort of guide or rule that says they should know?
The longer he waits the more reasons he comes up with as to why Regulus might say no and it becomes all too clear why he is having a hard time picking a stone. If he doesn't ask he doesn't get rejected.
Maybe taking the long way home wasn't doing any good to his overthinking. But Regulus had said that he would be home late and he thought the day was nice enough to go out.
The thoughts lay heavy on his stomach as he opened the door to their apartment.. and then almost like they had never even existed they vanished as he stepped in.
In the middle of their living room with flowers scattered around him and the light from the dining room hitting his face stood Regulus with a small box in his hand. He was smiling, a full real smile. Something that had been so rare when they met but he was now blessed with every day.
When he looks down at the ring in the box, he sees the complementary ring to the first one he had gotten Regulus, he knows that there is no world where Reg would've said no, or even hesitated.

PHOTOSHOOT: FOAM MAGAZINE
If there was a way to sum up the "Electra Heart" era in fashion — I think this shot did the job
On July 7th, 2012 Marina Diamandis was photographed by JUCO for Foam magazine in Los Angeles. Glam by Amy Chance, hair by Aaron Light and manicure by Michelle Saunders.

Simple as it may be, this is precisely the look, the beauty, and the styling I would have selected for this shot. Powerful in its stark simplicity.
For our first look, she wore this lime-colored slip dress ($295.00 - sold out) with contrasting black lace details from Emerson's Fall/Winter 2012 collection.
Jeweller Erica Courtney seems to have been assigned as the official bauble provider for this editorial, as Marina dons several of her pieces such as these white pearl, yellow-gold and diamond drop earrings ($31,700.00 - sold out).

For the next set of photos, Marina is posing on a bed while wearing Aussie label SHAKUHACHI's mint-green and pink lace block cut-out dress ($525.00 - sold out).
As in jewelry, the Greek-Welsh beauty rocked a pair of Jared Jamin's green flower and pearl drop earrings ($220.00 - sold out), along with Erica Courtney's platinum and diamond white pearl fancy charm necklaces ($10,000.00 - sold out) and 18k gold and diamond London blue topaz Zoey ring ($7,200.00 - sold out).

Marina completed her girly ensemble with these to-die-for metallic green penny loafer pumps ($275.00 - sold out) by Fornarina.

This retro-inspired look includes a vintage beaded and fringed cream pencil dress which was paired with the stylist's own sheer silk scarf and jewelry by Erica Courtney which included the Super Cool gold coin charm bracelet ($20,000.00 - sold out) and Pillow Top ring ($19,000.00 - sold out).

My favorite look of this editorial includes Marina wearing these apple-green and purple cut-out lenses – fruit of the collaboration from Prabal Gurung and Linda Farrow for Prabal's Spring/Summer 2012 runway!

I wasn't able to ID her outfit down but Marina wears yet another stunning design by Erica Courtney. On her, we can spot a blue topaz version of these romantic chandelier earrings with diamonds.

For the penultimate look, Marina posed outside while wearing her stylist's own beaded vintage cardigan on top of a vintage white silk blouse, and vintage grey leather daisies-embroidered belt sourced at Modern Vintage Today.
Her white and black polka-dot organza circle skirt ($450.00) was created by emerging designer House of Ronald.
This very feminine look was further enhanced with the Serefina Dagger stud earrings ($50.00 - sold out) and her aforementioned Fornarina pumps.

For the final look, things get bright and pink with this SHAKUHACHI neon-pink poplin blouse ($263.00 - sold out) which Marina paired with a vintage rose lace pencil skirt from Hot Mess Vintage.
The jewelry for this look is by none other than Erica Courtney and featured the namesake Erica diamond stud earrings ($11,000 - sold out) and Shayne pearl and diamond pendant necklace ($44,000 - sold out).

Last but definitely not least, Marina completed the look with these Kurt Geiger Spring/Summer 2012 white and pink perforated leather platform wedges!

With its timeless appeal, gold jewelry has enduring charm. It has contemporary styles and personal flair, offering endless versatility for any occasion, whether a formal event or a casual day out.
Benefits of Style Gold Jewelry on Occasions
Styling gold jewelry occasionally adds an extra layer of elegance, helping you express your style while enhancing your outfit. Gold jewelry can elevate your look effortlessly, whether it’s a formal gathering, a wedding, or a casual day out.
A carefully selected necklace, bracelet, or ring can complement the outfit, combining your entire look. For example, pairing a layered gold necklace with a cocktail dress instantly adds a sophisticated flair, while gold earrings can frame your face beautifully, making you look polished and poised.
Its versatile nature, gold jewelry can be paired with various fabrics and colors. Its warm, radiant tones can contrast beautifully with dark hues or blend seamlessly with lighter tones, making it a great accessory for any event. Styling gold jewelry occasionally ensures you’re always prepared to shine, providing your ensemble with a timeless and chic touch. For more such jewelries visit Fine Color Jewels.
1. Mix and Match Gold Rings for a Layered Look
Stacking rings is a contemporary trend that allows you to express your style creatively. Please start with the 10K Yellow Gold Infinity Ring, known for its minimalist elegance, and pair it with the Yellow Gold Chain Ring for a textured contrast.
The key to mastering this look is balance — combine simple designs with statement pieces for an effortless vibe. This Yellow Gold Chain Ring layering technique works for casual outings and formal occasions alike, showcasing your ability to mix subtlety with boldness.
2. Highlight Your Neckline with Layered Gold Necklaces
Layering necklaces is another modern styling trick that adds depth and sophistication to your outfit. Start with the 10K Gold Cross Pendant, a classic symbol of elegance, and layer it with the 10k Gold Heart Infinity Pendant Necklace for a touch of romantic charm.
For an extra pop of color, include the 14K Yellow Gold Zambian Emerald Graduated Pendant or the 14K Yellow Gold London Blue Topaz Halo Pendant. The varied lengths and designs create visual interest and elevate even the simplest outfits.
3. Add a Romantic Touch with Heart-Themed Jewelry
Heart motifs never go out of style and are ideal for adding a romantic element to your look. The 10K Yellow Gold Heart Ring is perfect for daily wear, offering a sweet yet modern vibe.
Pair it with the Alexandrite Yellow Gold Heart Necklace, which features a gemstone that changes hues, symbolizing love’s dynamic nature. These pieces create a cohesive, charming aesthetic for casual dates or evening outings.
4. Keep It Minimalist with Statement Gold Earrings
Gold earrings are a must-have for any modern wardrobe, and the 10K Gold Hinged Hoop Earrings are a versatile choice. They’re simple enough for everyday wear yet sophisticated enough for a night out.
If you want to make a bold statement, pair these hoops with other gold accents, such as stacked rings or layered necklaces. Their timeless design ensures they’ll enhance any outfit while maintaining a minimalist touch.
5. Embrace Symbolism with Cross Pendants
Cross pendants have a timeless appeal but can also be styled in fresh, modern ways. The 14K white gold lab diamond cross pendant combines classic symbolism with contemporary sparkle.
This pendant pairs well with casual T-shirts or flowing maxi dresses, offering a subtle yet powerful statement. Wear it with simpler necklaces like the 10K Gold Cross Pendant for a layered look, balancing intricate and understated elements.
6. Elevate Your Look with Elegant Bracelets
A modern wardrobe isn’t complete without a chic bracelet. The 10k Gold Two-Tone Infinity Love Knot Bracelet adds a contemporary twist to classic gold jewelry. Its two-tone design symbolizes unity.
This piece complements outfits ranging from business casual to evening wear, offering versatility without compromising elegance. Pair it with rings like the 10K Yellow Gold Infinity Ring for a cohesive yet layered appearance.
7.Incorporate Pops of Color with Gemstone Jewelry
Modern styling often involves incorporating color into your accessories. The 14K Yellow Gold London Blue Topaz Halo Pendant adds vibrant blue to your look. Similarly, the 14K Yellow Gold Zambian Emerald Graduated Pendant introduces a rich green hue, ideal for creating a bold statement.
These gemstone pieces pair beautifully with neutral outfits, letting the vibrant colors take center stage. Whether a daytime brunch or an evening gala, gemstone pendants bring a fresh, fashionable twist to traditional gold jewelry.
8. Keep It Classic Yet Modern with Solitaire Rings
Solitaire rings are timeless, but modern designs add a touch of trendiness. The 14K Gold Lab Diamond Solitaire Pave Ring is versatile for any occasion.
This ring pairs seamlessly with layered gold necklaces or the Gold Lab Diamond Cross Pendant for a balanced, stylish look. Whether worn as an engagement piece or an everyday accessory, its brilliance captures attention effortlessly.

Mix Metals for a Trendy Appeal: Don’t shy away from combining gold with silver or rose gold for a stylish contrast.
Focus on Balance: Pair bold statement pieces with minimalist designs to avoid an overwhelming look.
Experiment with Textures: Combine smooth, polished gold with textured or hammered finishes for a layered effect.
Incorporate Modern Motifs: Choose designs like infinity symbols, geometric shapes, and gemstone accents for a contemporary touch.

The Distinctive Qualities of London Blue and Swiss Blue Topaz
Swiss Blue Topaz, then again, is named after the radiant blue waters of Switzerland's lakes and waterways. This gemstone is likewise an individual from the Topaz family and is known for its energetic and striking blue tone, which can go from a light sky blue to a profound and rich blue. Swiss Blue Topaz jewelry is usually created from sterling silver and is often set with diamonds or gemstones to make a staggering adornment. Swiss Blue Topaz jewelry is a well-known choice for rings, pendants, bracelets, and necklaces, and it has been given many times as a present for huge life-altering situations like graduations, birthday events, and anniversaries. While London Blue Topaz and Swiss Blue Topaz share a comparable blue tone, there are a few vital contrasts between the two. London Blue Topaz is ordinarily a hazier and more serious blue, while Swiss Blue Topaz is a more brilliant and more dynamic blue. London Blue Topaz is generally cut into additional works of art and conventional shapes.

PHOTOSHOOT: INSTYLE MAGAZINE
Back in 2010, Marina graced the pages of InStyle Magazine. The editorial, which showcased some of the best Fall/Winter 2010 collections, was lensed by Christophe Rihet.
Styling by Amanda Bellan and Frankie Read, hair by Paul Percival, makeup by Cassie Jones and nails by Julie Luong.

We're starting off strong with Marina dressed in a Dior chunky ivory wool knit cardigan with baby-blue silk ribbons and white fur trimming (£1,650.00) which she teamed up with Dolce & Gabbana burgundy velvet wrap bustier dress with draping and jewel brooches (£1,300.00).

Her jewelry here includes a Topshop metal chain necklace with a Pebble London 22ct gold, blue aventurine and silk necklace (£240.00 - similar pictured).
On her hands, she wore a Dorothy Perkins black leather ring (£12,50) and a Sarah Ho London 18ct gold, quartz and tsavorite ring (£2,150.00).

Look n. 2 displays Marina wearing her favorite designer, Vivienne Westwood! She chose one of the final numbers from the Gold Label's F/W10 runway - a lilac silk taffeta dress with exploding black organza skirt.
As in accessories, she wore two studded leather cuffs by Felder Felder (£200.00 each), a feather and 18ct gold headdress by English jewellers Wright & Teague...

...which she then swapped for a Sonia Rykiel beige ostrich feather pom-pom headband (£350.00).

One element I've noticed about this shoot: there's just never enough when it comes to jewelry! Layering chunky necklaces is such an early 2010s thing and this shoot definitely showed how to do it back then.
Marina combined a Djurdja Watson black jet necklace with Swarovski crystals (£476.00) with a Topshop metal multi-strand watch necklace in silver (£50.00)

M further accessorized her look with a Chanel metal open-work, enamel, resin and gripoix cuff (£1,724.00)...
...and Pebble London mother-of-pearl oval bezel ring (£165.00 - similar pictured) and gold-plated & pink aventurine ring (£145.00).

The HOT Steampunk-inspired metallic gold and black patent leather sandals (£635.00) are signed by Rupert Sanderson.

For the third look of this editorial, the singer wore a white tulle dress with fraying and ruffles from Chanel's collection, which was inspired by Winter wonderland.

Marina's jewelry here included a Tom Binns Design Punk Chic metal necklace (£895.00), a Djurdja Watson gold-plated silver and brass necklace with Swarovski crystals (£389.00), and a Hoss Intropia silk and crystal cuff (£79.50).

Next, she accentuated the waist of her dress by rocking a Hollywood Trading Company studded black leather belt (£205.00).

The look was completed with these black eel skin peep-toe platform pumps (£585.00) from Rupert Sanderson.

Here, Marina wore the Lolita bodysuit (£439.00) from Bebaroque's "Matador" collection with embroidery inspired by Spanish traditional matador costumes and historical embroidery.
She layered a L'Agence cotton skirt (£170.00) with a Topshop tulle and diamanté maxi skirt (£70.00).

Her jewelry starts off with this beautiful Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 "Paris-Shanghai" collection gold metal, enamel and silk tassel necklace (£2,285.00).
She also wore Tom Binns Design crystal earrings (£120.00), the Felder Felder studded leather cuffs (£200.00 each), Pebble London gold-plated, onyx and coral ring (£165.00) and Sarah Ho London 18ct white-gold, topaz and diamond ring (£4,760.00).
Lastly, her black leather biker boots (£160.00) are Hudson London.

For the penultimate look, Marina sports this intricate folded black lambskin leather sleeveless coat (£2,795.00) by John Rocha!

Last but definitely not least, Marina poses in this Emilio Pucci Fall/Winter 2010 mustard-yellow ostrich feather jacket (£4,865.00), which I promise, would go missing if it was near me.
