“Um… Right…” Kira mumbled with a hesitant squint. “Well, if it doesn’t involve me, then… You have fun with that.” The last thing her team needed was to get mixed up in the affairs of a bored Reaper…

"Yeah, well... Guess I know a thing or two about walls." Shoka was pretty bad about closing herself off from people with her uncaring attitude, after all. It took meeting the Wicked Twisters--specifically Rindo--for her to start to let down her walls and open up to those around her. It was really hard to let people in and allow them to see the real you... She only learned how to do that after death.

Shoka didn't really know Uzuki very well. The most she ever interacted with her was when Kariya was possessed by plague noise, and she couldn't exactly call them best friends after just that. But she knew that those two reapers were looking out for the Wicked Twisters from within the UG, so she wouldn't mind opening up to them some as well.

"Whatever, it's not like I'm asking to be her bestie or anything. I just... I'm a bit worried about her, I guess. I know what it's like to put a wall up and keep other people away, and I know that it isn't as fun as you convince yourself that it is." She sighed and closed her eyes. "Ugh, I don't even know what I'm trying to say..."

A text came in to Kariya coming some time after their last encounter together:

Kariya, I've gotten their things. That guy, he remembered me, and I scared 'im so bad he was happy to hand it all over. I would like to bring it over as soon as possible, but I know you guys are probably busy. You'll let me know, right? When I can come?

Hanekoma drew in a breath as he walked away from the house with a box tucked under his arm. There was a plethora of treasures in this box, he knew, and it deserved to go back to those it belonged to. These treasures had been the whole reason for this exercise in the first place, moreso than even the beat down. These things that belonged to the women who were so wronged, so in need of memories and happy nostalgia, who deserved to have good things sweep back into their lives.

He enjoyed being the source of that happiness sometimes...

He waited somewhat impatiently for the okay to come over and kept himself close to their home, tucking into small alleys. He wasn't going to bother them if today turned out to really not be the best time, but he didn't want to keep this from them longer than needed.

it  was  always  interesting  to  observe  the  weave  and  flow  of  the  sea  of  real  ground  denizens  when  they  were  getting  ready  for  the  light  to  change  at  the  scramble  crossing.  there  would  be  a  game  soon  and  he  was  waiting  for  the  net  denizens  to  snap  into  the  scramble  when  the  game  started.  some  of  the  reapers  had  been  in  the  area  getting  ready  to  go  to  their  posts.

he  just  happened  to  be  standing  over  by  kariya,  in  the  shade  on  the  sidewalk  with  hachiko  to  their  backs.  he  stepped  up  beside  him,  his  hands  in  his  pockets  while  keeping  his  eyes  on  the  street to study and make sure there wasn't any irregularities.

❝  you  ever  feel  like  th'  openin'  to'a  game  feels  like  a  ceremony 'a  sorts?  everyone  gets  into  their  formation  t'  watch  all  the  players  play  tag  and  scramble  around  to  make  pacts  before  th'  noise  catch'em. the casualty rate is always highest on the first day, but..... i donno, it's kinda entertainin'.    ❞ he had a small glance over the roster of players, but entry fees were still largely unknown to him at the moment. that wasn't solidified until they showed up in the UG.

This is for @lollipopsandgunshots who seems to be feeling a little down as of late. Katee is running a really wonderful blog that focuses on cute and fluffy situations for our favorite reaper duo and comes up with the most amazing ideas and dynamics for them. She has also really expanded upon their backstories in a way that is super satisfying and has been terribly rewarding to watch develop. I love her and her blog so much, and I know the majority of the community does, too. For Kariya and Uzuki, and for her wonderful OCs, I want to thank Katee and I hope she gets to feeling a little better soon. She's wonderful and she deserves to feel good about her writing. To Katee: You deserve happiness and good things just as much as Uzuki does!

        Nywe giggles alongside Kariya when she hears the wildest theory about his origins as a Reaper. How could someone just translate their very Soul into the UG by the use of memes? The human mind could come up with such marvelous nonsense when facing boredom, as it seemed.

She laughs again in response to Kariya's description of himself.

❝ Oh, I wouldn't dare question that: I learnt my lesson that looks can be deceiving, especially for calm people, ❞ she adds, reaching for the lollipop with a polite 'thank you'.

Nywe falls silent afterwards, her expression somber as her co-worker speaks about a Game that should have concluded years ago. She registers Kariya's vibe and studies his features in an attempt to find any signs of insincerity. It's common practice for Shiba's goons to appear friendly and considerate, encouraging others to share their opinions on the Game as a means to target those who disagree with it.

Even though Kariya is a Shibuya Reaper, he can't be considered an ally yet. As much as Nywe would like to tell him that yes, these bullshit rules are taking a huge toll on her mental health, he must be tested first.

❝ ...Yeah, I am, ❞ she mumbles, her whole body ready to strike if necessary. ❝ Almost three years of working everyday and witnessing the futile struggles of Players end up leaving a mark on on your mind, don't you think? ❞

"Most people are absolutely certain that I've been here a hell of a lot longer than I have. Everyone's got their theories as to how I became a Reaper. Some are reasonable, others are completely off the wall. I think my personal favorite of the theories I've heard is that I'm just such a memelord that I simply memed my soul into another plane of existence."

He laughs, clearly not bothered by most of the gossip. Every now and then there would be a theory that bothered him, but those didn't seem to survive the way the sillier ones did.

"There's only one or two people I'd tell the truth to. But as it stands, nobody knows it at the moment. It's much more fun that way. Other than the mystery of a backstory, I'm basically the same as how people perceive me. Genuinely just a silly chill guy that can be a shockingly terrifying Reaper when he needs to be."

He reaches into his pocket, taking out another lollipop and offering it to his curious coworker.

"You gettin' sick of all this shit yet?" he asks, while gesturing to the streets. "This nonstop farce of a Game? This ain't the way things are meant to be."

🥚 I've really enjoyed people coming into STM not only as patients, but as employees. It's nice to build the centre's staff community more and develop the other co-owners behind the scenes! I'm not able to do a whole lot in public cause of the laws in Canada regarding the mental health department, so a lot of that aspect I talk about over VC instead. But the physical health aspect has been fun to RP as well.

I've also really enjoyed my muses' interactions with Hope's main three Shibuyas. It's been really since seeing bonds grow over the past almost-year and seeing how well Hope fits into TWEWY as a whole. I can't wait to do more on that.

Honorable mention to Willow and the stuff we've been talking about behind the scenes and planning for the future. I can't wait for the dynamics with Hope and Dorian (( @afigitis )) and their other OCs to finally come to fruition!

As far as others:

💫🌌🎨 @the-composer @catncore and @dandybarista is always a fun trio to see on the dash. Willow and J's writing is always phenomenal and you can truly tell that these three have been through hell and back and that their bonds are unbreakable. J's focus on Joshua and his relationships with others really plays into this a lot and couples really well with Willow's story and world building and the intertwining lore that comes from not just these three, but other involved blogs as well. Especially when you factor in Willow's OCs into the mix as well.

🔫🍭 @lollipopsandgunshots Interpretations of Kariya and Uzuki and their relationship is absolutely on point and the way they intertwine their OCs into things as well to make this little community is such a breath of fresh air and adds onto that relationship's strength. As far as I'm concerned Katee's take on Kariya and Uzuki's realationship and families might as well be canon material.

💖 @hannah-the-small and I don't exactly talk / haven't talked too much but I really enjoy reading their content. Their current storyline with James and Hannah and the relationships they've built and are a part of are captivating and incredibly well written and their art only adds to that. Same with their HH stuff with Clem and Gritt's separate but still intertwined lives. They're the only person I will consume any sort of HH content from, because they're taking the established lore and making something entirely their own from the concepts it presents. It's always a joy to read their stuff! Can you tell I may look up to them a lil <<;

🐋 I've mostly lurked for the time being (AND DESPERATELY NEED TO CHANGE THIS) but I've absolutely been adoring the dynamics over at @narvvhal! The writing is dynamic and adds to the equally fascinating characterization of Childe and the bonds and relationships he has formed or is forming. Each is a joy to read and just as entrancing as the others to read. I never get bored learning more about this interpretation and how he interacts with the world and other folks, as well as how others react to him!

💜💙💗 And of course I can't go without talking about @kingsmedley, @pureposer and @strawberry-barista! The dynamics between Joshua, Haz and Hanekoma were my first experience with these three and I've enjoyed seeing how things have changed and evolved. Things conflict and clash, but can also be settled and it's fascinating to see just how three unstable people trying to get better can still have an amazing dynamic!

Now, I know Dusty and Kohi ((to an extent)) are drifting off to different paths and this timeline is gonna lay effectively dormant for the foreseeable future, but this still applies to their other muses as well, new and old. Same with Salem's! I'm confident that these three will find another way to connect and I can't wait to read ((and potentially be a part of)) what they create together.

"Oh...my...god..." She had to be imagining this right now. The Uzuki she knew was so well put together. Suit and tie, fashionable heels, neat yet stylish hair... Exactly as one would expect a girlboss to look. Shoka just assumed she always looked like this, or at the very least for the most part.... But she was wrong.

Shoka tried to keep herself from laughing, so instead she seemed to hold her breath as she stared at the picture. Kariya hasn't changed much, as it seemed. Still a sleeveless top with some sort of ribcage design. But Uzuki?? She looked like a totally different person!! Shoka loved edgy outfits, but Uzuki's was so...strange... Some dark, flowy shirt that looked like it could be from a different era, booty shorts, and knee-high boots.?? It was too much for Shoka--she covered her mouth to keep herself from laughing out loud.

"Oh wow... This... This is...unique??" She was trying to be nicer now that she was a human, but this was rather hard. Shoka snickered through her hands as she continued. "Oh wow... I wonder if that's how I'll react a few years from now when I think back on what I wore.!!" But Shoka doubted it. She dressed so cute and pretty her whole life... Her style now felt right. This was who she is. Through giggles, she smiled at the pink-haired reaper. "Thanks, Uzuki. This...actually made me feel a lot better." Like someone understood.
