Hmmm I wonder if one could do an abstract representation of the Bug Ferret darkvision by using purple as a stand-in for heat. Like say freezing is black/dark gray, blindingly hot is white, and then cool to warm is varying shades of violet and magenta respectively.

#that's the best way i can think of how to illustrate it #swap our invisible color for theirs #runaway to the stars #lol do you think they'd consider blue/violet/UV to be 'ultracyan' essentially #or 'antiyellow' or something like that #i imagine they know how to use blue light in their displays at least to make their greens look more varied #omg for ages their tv must've had the nasty yellow filter effect
