Misogyny is something all girls and women experience at some point in their life even outside of a sports watcher. If you're lucky to have not experiences misogyny I pray to god you never do.

It's not a Lando fan thing and it is not an F1 exclusive thing.

Being a female sports fan will inevitably have you having to prove that you know more understand more to be treated like an equal and not looked down upon. That is the universal experience of being a female sports fan. It is not exclusive to formula 1 or goddamn Lando Norris.

And this is gonna be a tad bit personal but telling people my favourite driver is George is an absolutely scary experience depending on the person I'm talking to. Because somehow it's incomprehensible for some people that just because someone's not in a fast car or has multiple world championships the assumption that I like him is oh just has to be because he's hot. Most of the time if I get the feeling they're gonna judge, I just say Max and kinda skirt around the topic.

Being subjected to misogyny is not just centered around being a Lando Norris fan or even a formula 1 fan. The only sport I watch that do not care about your gender is probably swimming.
