Catching his breath as he made it to the safety of the compound, that was closer than he wanted it to be. On multiple fronts. In a kill or be killed war, it would be so easy to give in for that first. He wasn't entirely sure some of the injuries wouldn't turn out to be life-threatening, and he wondered how long between infliction and succumbing needed to pass before it wasn't deemed to be his fault. Like the tree problem, if he didn't witness it, does he really trigger? Before the war was over, he had a sneaking suspicion he'd find out.

Hayley's voice broke through his runaway train of thought, and he looked down to realize how covered he actually was. "It's not mine, don't worry," he remarked with a slight tug at the corner of his lips. He knew if she genuinely believed he was hurt then she'd probably be more concerned. Probably.

Removing his shoes and shirt, he traced the trail he'd made to get here. "Want to go distract my mom?"

"That stings" Klaus grimaced as he swatted away the hand prodding at his eyebrow with a cotton swab. "You told me it wouldn't." His arms folded at Hayley's quick whited retort, truly looking like a petulant child. He wasn't so used to his meals fighting back and the last think he had expected was a pocket knife to clash with his brow. His pouting continued and he glared up towards a highly amused Hayley who had warned him on many occasions to tread carefully, but of course he would never admit that she had been right. "The lightness of your touch 'could use a little work, love."

Closed Starter: @littlewolflabonair Location: Cami's old apartment

Turns out, a lot of people left New Orleans, thanks to the OEA. Since Camille needed to keep out of sight, she decided it was best to check on familiar places. The first on her list was her old apartment, a place she knew that if she could just see, well it might just make her feel whole.

It turned out to be empty, no one had lived there for the past year. So she compelled the landlord to let her have the place for free, that was until she managed to make some type of income. The first person she called over was Hayley. Knowing that the two shared the isolating feeling of being brought back to life, after so many years.

After learning that the hybrid was now just a vampire, Cami knew that this loss was weighing on Hayley. So she decided to clean the place up, get some wine, and just wait out this curfew with her close friend.

It didn't take long for Hayley to arrive, the knocking noise causing Cami to grin. Opening the door, she motioned the vampire in. "Come on in, not sure if you need to be invited again..." She trailed off, unsure of the rules after all this time.

The OEA halls were filled with all kinds of people; humans, vampires, wolves, and fairies. All of them gathered together, unsure of why they were there and because of that, they were also nervous. The gala itself was lavish, filled with food and drink for everyone who attended.

Cami was uneasy the moment she walked in the door, because she had done this all before. If anything she knew that Hayley would know exactly how this felt, so she quickly scanned the room for the crescent wolf. It didn't take long to find her, ever since Hayley's return, she had been focused on spending time with her daughter. Camille had always respected the way the wolf tackled motherhood, especially with all the things that happened to her as a chid. Despite all that, she loved and cared for Hope fiercely.

Walking up next to Hayley, Cami smiled softly. "Hayley you look amazing!" Giving the woman a hug, the vampire then took a step back. "I saw you with Hope, I haven't gotten used to her being an adult. The last time I saw her....she was so tiny."

DEFEND :  for one muse to save the other from one or multiple assailants. (hayley)

For the past week, the OEA were on a vicious hunt for everyone who had returned. Unfortunately for the group, it wasn't an easy task and so far they had only lost their own people in the fight. Camille was staying with the Mikaelson family, something that had been a savior during such an anxious time. The compound they all sought safety in was heavily guarded, with spells thanks to Freya, and security provided by Klaus. Yet that didn't stop the anti-supernatural group to attempt attacks.

A loud crash was heard only a few feet away from where Cami had fallen asleep. It woke her up quickly and now that she had fed, she was able to use her vampire speed to reach whomever was in trouble. When she entered, Hayley was seen fighting over two men in what looked like some self-made military outfits. Grabbing a vase from the table next to her, she ran up behind one of the men and smashed it over his head. Before his companion could react, she managed to break his neck with ease. "Hayley are you okay?!" Her voice breathy as she reached for Hayley's hand.
