may i ask what this misfortune-riddled post was about..

my beautiful misfortune riddled post which has been lost forever in the deepest darkest depths of tumblr was literally just me ranting incoherently about the depiction of colonialism in andor and mostly about how fucking insane it is to show cassian being taken from his home planet as a child by a woman who's claiming to be saving his life and we just go along with that based on assumptions about what could have potentially happened had she not taken him with her. and we watch as this literally 12 year old kid is sedated and essentially kidnapped and taken to a place that is the polar opposite of his home planet in so many ways, just because maarva thought she was saving his life. and it drives me insane i can't articulate it the way i did in my beautiful long lost post but its making me feel sick. its addressed in the show but barely and only by maarva, never really by cassian himself. God there is so much more to say and so much more that i did initially say and I could write an actual essay on it. and I might. but all this came from the fact that when shooting rogue one back in 2015/16, diego luna came up with his own backstory for cassian just to explain why he has the only latin american accent among so many european accents. So yeah. thanks for asking
