okay i don't know what it is but this song just screams seungmin to me,, like the idea of knowing you'll get hurt by love but still wanting it nonthless, needing love and desiring it... also,,the vibes of like the evening summer city just sit so well with seungmin in my opinion

you put your legs out of the window of the going car, singing at the top of your lungs, passing the lamposts and counting how many of them are on the long highway.

you turn around to look at seungmin on the driver's seat, humming the song with you, looking at you once in a while, his heart beating fast at the presence of you in his car this late at night. he promised himself he's not going to fall in love again, but you weren't making it any easier for him. he was born to be alone, but you make him feel like loneliness is not the answer.

Gonna combine these two cause I think these are from the same anonie, who I’m starting to think likes to make people suffer djfhskdh (if it’s not from the same person, then big rip)

Sorry this took so long, I was really trying to narrow it down to top 5 and I think I still ended up failing... I actually do this with my friends but usually, we’re a little bit more generous by narrowing it down to stuff like: top 5 title tracks, top 5 rap-line, top 5 vocal line, top 5 albums, etc... Asking me top 5 songs from their entire discography is absolutely savage.

For my top 5 BTS songs (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER BECAUSE I BARELY NARROWED IT DOWN TO FIVE, YOU CANT MAKE ME RANK THEM):

Blood Sweat & Tears: the monarch, the goat, putting it simply, the absolute best. I honestly remember when the Wings short films started dropping, my friend and I panicked HARD because we were like “WTF IS GOING ON WHAT IS THIS”. And then the teaser dropped, and it was so different from the “typical” BTS we’ve been getting, so we were even more confused. But then... The MV dropped and that was honestly just such a massive turning point for everything. Also, as an ARMY with a Jimin bias, I almost didn’t survive it.

Attack on Bangtan: okay this is honestly just such a fun hype song that never gets old no matter how many times you listen to it? It’s honestly a classic and whenever it plays on Run BTS, I know I’m either about to witness an epic moment or it’s gonna send my ass on the floor from laughing. (Also, let us never forget Tae’s “Nico nico niiii~”)

I Need U: okay this was The song that got me learning all their names and holy shit, I’ve listened to this song so much, it’s currently 5th most played song (out of nearly 2k songs) in my iTunes with 1,338 plays. When one hears “Fall...”, one does not simply resist the urge to belt “EVERYTHANG” with feelings. Also, funnily enough, the one that first caught my eye was Yoongi, there was something so eye-catching about the way he rapped in such a despondent manner at the start of the mv.

House of Cards: I definitely need to put this one because I’ve listened to this song a total of 2,104 times, if you add the Prologue (short) version total (861) to the full length one (1,243). This was my “hoe” anthem long before My Time was born. I deadass fell in love with the song 10 seconds in, there was no saving me and you cannot stop anyone from doing emo bodyrolls when it comes up. Jikook’s bridge? I can’t sing to save my life but you can bet your ass I’m lipsyncing to that shit every single time.

I HATE THIS. I HATE PICKING THE LAST ONE, I WANT TO FIT THEIR ENTIRE DISCOGRAPHY INTO THIS LAST SPOT FFFFFFF.

And now, the last one... can I cheat and throw Euphoria, Serendipity and Seesaw all at my 5th spot? Cause I REALLY can’t pick one out of these 3 skjdhfkshdkf I have such an emotional attachment to Serendipity and Euphoria at this point (DJ Swivel remix of Euphoria? Hello?? I almost cried??? You are me, I am you?? HMMM????), and Seesaw just really surprised me. I absolutely was not expecting it, but holy shit, Seesaw slapped and it slapped hard. At this point, I’m like, anything Yoongi touches turns to absolute gold, I can’t resist him.

Okay I have so many other faves (Spring Day, Baepsae, etc.) but since you only asked for top 5 and not, like, top 100, I have to stop myself here, but I also very curious about your top 5s if you guys wanna share!! Let’s see how well you do, only narrowing it down to 5.

For my top 5 BTS videos (I only counted Bangtan Bombs and live performances, excluding MVs, since you didn’t specify. Otherwise there are too many... just thinking about how many Run BTS episodes I could fit otherwise lmfao):

Perfect Man: I’m a Jimin stan. What did you expect, me to not include this masterpiece??

As I Told You: Good lord, Jungkook was so fkn attractive in a hockey jersey of all things. I honestly loved it so much, I can listen to the live audio as is.

2018 MMA - IDOL Intro Performance (3J focus): Again, I am a Jimin stan. But seriously, from Hobi hitting every. single. beat. while dancing on a raised platform, to Jimin’s fan dance (I streamed the show live and I couldn’t focus on anything else after), to JK lounging like the absolute king that he is, what’s not to love?

It’s Tricky Bangtan Bomb: oldie but goldie, honestly. All of them were babies but holy shit, if their casual dancing didn’t absolutely make me fall in love with them all over again. It honestly never gets old no matter how many times I watch it.

BTS Carpool Karaoke: I have to admit, I honestly got stuck picking the last one so I went with this one because I feel like this is a really really good video to introduce others to BTS to. From their amazing acapella vocals (JK belting Finesse lives in my mind rent free) to how they were so perfectly themselves? You had Hobi’s sunshine smile in the middle, Baby Mochi, Jin’s “I don’t know what he said, but let’s laugh ha ha ha ha”, etc.

Okay I have to admit something, I probably forgot like 90% of their videos so if any of you guys mention a video, I might go “AH SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT ONE SKDJFHKSH” so take this list more as a “bangtan videos you should 100% watch” :^)

For my top 5 jikook moments (you absolutely devil, how could you ask me such a question), in no particular order because, again, I actually cannot physically bring myself to rank them:

Jimin comforting a crying JK during LY: (6:05) the way Jimin ran over as soon as he saw Jungkook bent over, facing the backstage. My heart. And he kept JK company for a bit, making sure he was fine before leaving. This whole thing just makes my heart melt into a puddle no matter how many times I think/see about it because it’s like, the timing is just? Anpanman barely started and he just looked over, saw, and ran over. Jesus Christ.

That Jikook moment during SY Seoul Finale: Just how much comfort Jimin must represent for Jungkook to let the dam free once again just seeing his face aghhhhhasgdahj I literally made an entire post about that moment because of how incredibly soft it gets me. I’ve linked it but it’s also my pinned so it’s very easy to find.

“Are you guys dating?”: (start) holy shit okay so this moment is so sdjkfhkdshkfdhks the way both of them were so giggly? It never fails to make me laugh how absolutely done Joon sounded when he said “push quickly!” Also, just how soft did Jimin make his voice when he asked “are you ready”? and how JK, the single most competitive member of BTS, was just giggling the entire time and didn’t even try pushing Jimin before Jimin ended up eliminating himself. Not to mention how JK couldn’t into Jimin’s eyes and only finally made eye contact with at the very end :^)

MMA 2018: lmao okay so I’m just gonna throw this entire fkn night into the mix. I still remember how it was the wee hours in the morning for me when I started following the live stream and damn, they were literally inseparable the entire time. My TL was exploding in Jikook content and between watching them through the official broadcast and watching the fancams, I was BUSY. They did everything: whispering to each other’s ears, slinging their arms around each other’s shoulders, JK massaging JM’s nape, JK pulling JM down to sit... phew.

GCF in Tokyo: Okay so this is one of those things that the more you think about it, the more you can’t believe it’s real. I couldn’t not include this simply because of how meaningful the whole thing was. There’s so much about it that makes me ????? because JK really booked a two-person trip to Tokyo for Jimin’s birthday. And Jimin genuinely had fun on that trip. The whole thing just shows how comfortable the two of them are with each other because they’d never had gone on a trip together elsewise. I recently saw a Korean movie director’s reaction to GCF and the whole thing didn’t have any subs, but the two reactors were like “ohhh... these two... these two must be really close” (they’d reacted to BTS MVs before, but they’re not familiar with how the members are outside of that). From my limited Korean understanding, the movie director then commented “Because the model and the director are so close, it’s very natural” (if I’ve gotten any Korean followers, I’d love to get confirmation on the words said because my Korean understanding isn’t perfect and I don’t want to be spreading crap around). GCF in Tokyo is also the first video posted under the GCF label, with JK editing the whole thing himself. He filmed, he directed, he edited. And his main actor was Jimin.

I was this 👌🏻 close to adding LY lap sitting and Rose Bowl moments but I had other faves to include so I thought I’d go with something else :^) GCF forced its way into my list, I had no say in it.

♡ oikawa is the epitome of failing to meet the high expectation set for him at a young age by himself, peers, teachers and parents - like if he was a host in OHSHC, y’know how they all have their ‘types’ (mori is the ‘strong, silent type’, honey is the ‘boy lolita type etc etc), oikawa’s would be the ‘gifted kid bournout but still charming type’

♡ so yeah, to elaborate on that ^ he probably gets what your are going through and gives you reassurance when you need it - but for the most part, he just likes to bury it deep down within and make jokes about it with you 🤠

♡ as for the crime shows, i can imagine oikawa enjoying true crime podcasts and stuff like that so he’d definitely watch them with you but if you get scared afterwards - like if you hear an eerie noise in the house and get frightened - don’t expect him to be of any help. like yeah, he’ll wrap his arms around you, rub comforting circles on your back and tease you for being his lil scardey-cat but in reality, he just does a fairly good job of hiding the fact he is literally shitting himself too

♡ idk if oikawa cooks but he’d look hot asf in an apron so- KRBRHX he probably gets one with something like ‘kiss the chef 💋’ written on it and whenever you go near him while he is cooking and try to talk to his, he gestures to the words on his aprons lmao

♡ he enjoys baking/cooking but he doesn’t do it too often or passionately, the only time he does is when he needs to eat or during a date with you. bc if you’re in the kitchen making cookies then ofc he is going to join you- he’s not very much help though; the most he does is take the cookies out of the oven for you when you’re preoccupied but other than that, he’s more of a hinderance bc he likes to wipe dough on your face just to annoy you

So I said I would finish this OTP question meme someday--and I decided, entirely on random impulse, that “someday” is today!!! My Hiccanna-centered account has not been producing enough Hiccanna content lately, and this simply WILL not do.

I mean...canonically yeah, they both do??? Lol I mean Hiccup has his fire sword and obviously would know how to fight with the weapons he makes/invents, and Anna literally just instinctively grabs a sword to protect her buddies in Frozen 2 and I mean we all really love Sword Anna anyways and also she PUNCHES A MAN OFF OF A BOAT so long story short yes they can both fight 52. What do they do for Valentines Day? Anna rents a rom-com and pulls Hiccup down onto their couch to watch it with her, and he kinda internally groans because he figures it’ll be something super sappy and cheesy and Anna will just be squealing with delight the whole time. Legit as soon as the first scene begins, Anna begins brutally roasting the main couple. Turns out it’s a really terrible rom-com and Anna rented it solely to make fun of it. Hiccup is like “aight this definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but I’m on board” Also Hiccup gets Anna like 3 boxes of fancy chocolate because...do I really need to explain? Anna gets Hiccup a particularly aesthetic floral arrangement for their kitchen table, something she knows damn well he secretly likes but would never admit XD 53. Who swears more? Anna, for sure. This tends to surprise people, but Anna is actually a notorious pottymouth when she gets comfortable XD Hiccup has a pretty big and borderline pretentious vocabulary, and so he tends to express his frustration in more...articulate ways when things don’t go his way. Like he’d stub his toe and just say “wow, I’d literally rather saw off my other leg than have to deal with this right now” while Anna, in the same situation, would let loose every curse word known to man XD 54. Who has the better comebacks? Hiccup, absolutely. His smart-ass comments to every conceivable situation on earth go absolutely unmatched. Anna can’t help but envy how he can almost instinctually pull out a near-perfect snide remark within seconds, whilst she, at best, thinks of the ideal comeback in the shower 3 days later. 55. Who would start a fight with another parent at a bake sale? I feel like Anna would seek out the most passive-aggressive, bitchy, entitled Karen and just wait with barely-concealed anticipation for her to say something super awful so Anna can just nail her in the face right in front of all the other moms Hiccup and their kids, meanwhile, can’t help but be awed at their wife/mother’s impressive Right Hook 56. Who reads buzzfeed? Anna. Hiccup keeps being like “you know half the stuff on there is total bullshit, right?” and Anna just shrugs like “who cares? It’s entertaining!” 57. Who is the hopeless romantic? Anna, good god, ANNA. After the whole Hans debacle I imagine she’s a bit more subdued about so openly showing this part of her personality, but at heart she just can’t stop being a romantic. Once Hiccup catches wind of this, he naturally makes a point of frequently surprising her with Grand Romantic Gestures and such, which makes Anna’s entire face go bright fuckin red as she cries out “NO STOP WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS YOU’RE TOO NICE” 58. Do either of them know how to do a handstand? Nope! They’d both fall on their faces and it would be hilarious. 59. Who can rap better? I love the idea of them both being looped into a rap battle somehow and Anna just dreading it immensely because she figures they both really suck and then when it’s their turn Hiccup comes out and busts out the BEST, MOST SAVAGE RHYMES Anna has ever heard COMPLETELY ad lib and the poor girl just goes completely catatonic with shock for like 10 minutes. 60. Do either of them want to go sky diving? See initially I was gonna say Hiccup definitely would not because it would give the poor boy an anxiety attack, but then I remembered he basically skydives in canon??? And Anna strikes me as a bit of adrenaline junkie too, so fuck it--yeah, I think they’d both enjoy it. 61. What do they usually text about? They talk a lot about movies, games, books, and shows they both like, I imagine--Hiccup especially likes to overanalyze them to ridiculous extents and Anna thinks this is adorable. The rest of the time, they send each other dumb memes and talk about random animal fun facts. Anna likes to brag that her boyfriend knows more lizard trivia than anyone else on the planet, and how many lizard facts does YOUR boyfriend know? Probably little to none, you big loser. 62. Who is the dramatic one? Anna is INCREDIBLY dramatic. Although Hiccup certainly does have a “dramatic flair,” as he puts it, I still think Anna can out-dramatic him, at the end of the day XD Although perhaps admittedly not by much. 63. Is either one confrontational? Anna certainly can be. She’s usually pretty friendly, but if she ever feels like she’s being challenged, demeaned, mocked, or generally not taken seriously, she’s ready to go to WAR. She certainly not as soft as she might look! I imagine there’s situations where someone is being a dick to either Anna or someone else and Hiccup has to physically hold her back to keep her from just decking them XD 64. What is their favourite cuddle position? Probably just good old-fashioned spooning. Hiccup actually really loves being the little spoon (because Anna just makes him feel so damn safe), but he is loathe to admit it. They also have one I like to call the “Needy Cat,” where Anna just goes and completely drapes herself over Hiccup when he’s sitting on the couch. He’s usually in the middle of doing something else, and is forced to find ways to play video games/read his book/watch his show around Anna XD 65. Who are their favourite musical artist(s)? Hiccup has exactly 3 music moods--pretentious classical stuff (to listen to while working on inventions), obscure underground 90s hipster bands no one’s heard of (to play air guitar to when no one else is home), and some more well-known emo/alt rock stuff (to sing along to in the car dramatically). I can see him liking Panic! at the Disco, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, that kinda stuff. Anna, meanwhile, likes the trashiest, most generic-sounding pop music and refuses to apologize for dancing to it in the car XD She is most DEFINITELY a Swiftie, no question. She also likes some “edgier” bands like Paramore and Hey Monday. She went through a hardcore Avril Lavigne phase in middle school and she still totally listens to her but is embarrassed to say it. Also I feel like Anna would be into 90s/early 2000s boy bands??? She relates to the boys’ endless pining and just flips the genders in her head so the songs are about Hiccup (before they start dating obs) XD I AM DEFINITELY NOT SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE HERE, NO SIR 66. What are their parenting styles? Anna would probably be like...kind of stern, when she needs to be, but intensely nurturing as well, if her relationship with Elsa is anything to go by. Hiccup would be a pretty laid-back, chill dad who would probably try too hard to be cool and make no end of absolutely horrible dad jokes XD They both lowkey seem like the kind of parents who would end up letting their kids get away with a lot though lmao 67. Who would be the more laid back one? Hiccup probably. I mean, he IS the pacifist/diplomat guy, besides have you MET Anna??? Girl absolutely has NO chill. 68. Who listens to more vulgar music? Anna, surprisingly! Hiccup just kinda enjoys what he enjoys and doesn’t really feel the need to “prove” anything by listening to songs that swear a lot. Anna purposely listens to vulgar music to feed her hidden rebellious side and because it makes her feel badass XD She honestly kinda hates being written off as 100% wholesome and innocent all the time and will readily pull out the “I’M NOT A SWEET LITTLE FLOWER I SANG ALONG TO THAT SONG THAT JUST SAID FUCK SEE” line whenever given even the slightest chance XD 69. Do either of them have secrets even the other doesn’t know? Kind of depends on when in both their timelines they meet. If they meet in the middle of HTTYD 1 or Frozen 1, they probably wouldn’t tell the other right away that they have a dragon and an ice-powered supersister, respectively XD I definitely think they would as they came to trust each other, though. Also I read a headcanon that Hiccup has burn scars from the Red Death incident where he lost his leg, and that’s why he wears so much armor and generally long sleeves--and I kind of love that. So maybe Hiccup would be cagey with Anna about how he lost his leg and that whole incident for a while before he finally opens up to her about it. Other than that I feel like they’d be pretty honest with one another, other than maybe trying to hide the more embarrassing parts of themselves to impress the other person XD 70. Who is their go to couple for a double date? Jackunzel, obviously! They’d probably all go to an arcade or an amusement park or something else pretty fun and high-energy. 71. Do they tip the waiter/waitress on their date? I mean yes, they’re not huge assholes????? 72. How do they work out a fight? I imagine Anna tends to get more worked up and yelley and loud, while Hiccup doesn’t raise his voice much at all but can say some damn cutting things if he wants to. Since Anna probably gets angrier, I imagine she apologizes first, whether or not the fight was actually on her or not--it’s just kinda this girl’s default to apologize for everything XD She’d probably say sorry for yelling and probably overreacting, while Hiccup would also be EXTREMELY apologetic if he realized he crossed a line with one of his jabs at her. I imagine a lot of what they fight about is Anna doing some impulsive Dumb Shit^TM and Hiccup just being like “oh god DAMMIT that’s DANGEROUS you can’t just go WORRYING me like that!!!” and Anna getting offended because she kinda views this as him being a little overprotective and not trusting her to make her own decisions. Ironically, Anna occasionally also gets mad at HICCUP for doing Impulsive Dumb Shit, so he’s not always nearly as much the Voice of Reason as he thinks XD Hiccup also sometimes gets mad at Anna for not taking better care of herself (take it from a fellow ADHDer--we tend to Wallow in Despair sometimes, or straight-up forget to do basic care things like eat lunch XD)--I have an IRL friend who reminds me a lot of Hiccup and he’s ALWAYS getting on my case about not eating enough, not drinking enough water, constantly berating myself, stuff like that. I imagine Hiccup sometimes slips into Mom Mode with Anna when she gets in a bad spot, which she appreciates after the fact but kind of annoys her at the time because she wants really badly to be independent and all that. Basically TL;DR most of Anna and Hiccup’s fights can be resolved by Anna and Hiccup agreeing to next time Use A Brain Cell before they do a thing, or Anna agreeing to take better care of herself XD 73. Who brings home an illegal pet? In literally every AU possible I like to think that Hiccup brings home some variation of illegal pet XD I mean, it’s probably just a dragon (”just a dragon” is never a string of words I imagined myself using in that order like what do you mean JUST a dragon lmao) in a standard crossover timeline, which he basically does in canon, but I do love the idea of a modern AU Hiccup showing up to their apartment with some kind of weird exotic monitor lizard from Bali and being like “I found him in an alley, he’s gonna live with us now” and Anna is like “D: Is someone gonna arrest you???” And Hiccup is like “Nah, no cops followed me home” and Anna’s like “Okay!!! :D” and then goes to PetSmart to buy a big fluffy bed for her new scaled friend XD 74. What side of the bed do each of them sleep on? I honestly don’t think either would care much, and they usually sleep in a tangled-up mess anyways so by morning you can’t really tell who started on which side XD 75. What is their favorite photo of them two together? One from before they got together: I’m just imagining a big group photo with the Entire Squad (Rapunzel, Jack, Merida, Moana, etc.), and Anna has her arms laced around Hiccup’s neck and her chin on his shoulder and a GIANT smirk on her face. Meanwhile Hiccup is laughing and trying to push her off, but his cheeks are BRIGHT fucking red and he’s trying really unsuccessfully to hide it because he’s a pale boi. Anna loves it because you can so CLEARLY see Hiccup’s blush, and she loves to tease him about how flustered he got around her. Hiccup loves it because it reminds him of what was probably the first time Anna was THAT openly cuddly with him, and how exhilarated and giddy he felt the first time he had her that close to him. 76. Who takes longer in the bathroom? Probably Hiccup, if only because I HC him as a bit of a germophobe who is a tiny bit obsessive about washing his hands sufficiently. 77. Who has more songs on their ipod? Anna, mainly because literally every time she hears a song she likes she’s like “!!!!! Gotta download it!!!!” LITERALLY EVERY TIME. And she wonders why her ipod is always running out of space XD 78. What movie did they first see together? As of the Modern AU Hiccanna one-shot I wrote ages ago, Revenge of the Ancient Dragon Masters! XD If we’re talking movies that actually exist, I imagine it would be a Marvel movie, a Star Wars movie, or some super-fancy-CGI high fantasy epic. 79. What do they like to see each other in? You mean like...which of the other’s outfits would they find the sexiest??? Aight, I’ll take a stab at this. Anna gets literally SO fuckin thirsty every time Hiccup wears his dragon rider outfit (the one from HTTYD 2), like it shows off his cute skinny body in the most perfect possible way whilst making him look like a badass and oh how Anna DREAMS of feeling him up in that! (One day, she finally gets to! XD) She’s also very into the scale armor from HTTYD 3 when she’s in...a very different kind of mood XD As for Hiccup, his favorite outfits of Anna’s are probably her coronation dress and her queen dress, mainly because he loves how she looks in green. He also really likes her travel outfit from Frozen 2, mainly because it’s sexy AND practical and damn, he’s gotta admit, that’s a nice shade of purple and she absolutely SLAYS in it XD 80. Who makes jokes during inappropriate times? Honestly both of them??? Like neither are great at picking up social cues, and Anna canonically DOES do this in Frozen! (Remember her comment about ice-selling being “a rough business to be in right now”???) I can see both of them attempting to lighten a tense mood by making an ill-timed joke, hoping to make things less uncomfortable, and they end up making everything MORE uncomfortable XD Honestly sue me, I love the idea of these two idiots bonding over how terrible they are with social cues in general 81. At what age do they discuss the possibility of children? I imagine not til like...their early 30s, if ever. Like I mentioned in the first part of the questionaire, I actually am not sure if they would even want to have kids at all, but if they DID decide to, it definitely wouldn’t be until they’re older and have settled down a bit, and have (somewhat) gotten both of their lives together. 82. What do they love about each other the most? Hiccup loves Anna’s energy and optimism, and how she’ll basically cheer him on and believe in him with all her being no matter how high the odds are stacked against him. And oh boy does he LOVE how hard she can kick ass when push comes to shove, and how goddamn overprotective she is of him. The sword skills and the general willingness to punch problematic people in the face are definitely up there as well. She’s like the perfect blend of fun and badass, and there’s never a dull moment with her for him. Anna adores Hiccup’s connection with animals and general animal skills, especially with the more less-loved and “scary” of the world’s creatures (i.e. dragons lol). She also loves and admires the shit out of his intelligence and inventiveness, and wishes she could make contraptions half as cool as what he turns out. And, of course, she loves that he’s a pretty humble dude who's actually pretty insecure about his accomplishments, and isn’t some cocky guy wanting to shove them in everyone’s face. And, of course, she loves his sarcasm and his dry sense of humor, and few people can make her laugh as hard as Hiccup can. Before she met him, she had no idea pessimism could be this entertaining XD 83. Who is the one that sees the big picture, while the other focus’s on the small details? Hiccup is very detail-oriented--he has to be, in order to make any of his contraptions work! Anna is very much focused on the big picture and gets stressed and exasperated trying to keep track of details--she figures she’ll either sort through the details as she goes, or Hiccup will help do it for her XD 84. What would they write on their partner’s social media’s for their anniversary? One of my IRL friends wrote “Happy anniversary bro, you’re pretty great” on his girlfriend’s instagram for their anniversary, and she wrote back “Happy anniversary, you’re a good buddy, I love you” and I just XD That’s the EXACT kind of weird dorky nonsense I can see Hiccup and Anna doing for their anniversary tbh 85. Who is bad at math? Anna, bless her soul, needs a calculator for literally EVERYTHING. Hiccup kinda trained himself to be decent at doing math in his head, since he often has to calculate measurements for his inventions and whatnot, but Anna is absolutely atrocious at it and generally would like overly-complicated numbers to not be anywhere near her. 86. Who googles everything? Probably Anna, mainly because she’s pretty forgetful and doesn’t trust her own memory half the time so she feels the need to verify everything on the internet XD 87. Who does stuff on impulse? Anna 100% canonically does, although Hiccup has some shades of this too more than he would ever admit, in fact, for someone claiming to be the Voice of Reason 88. How do they comfort each other when they are helpless to do anything about the situation? Hiccup’s approach is probably just to try and distract Anna and take her mind off of it, which he’ll do by either trying to make her laugh, telling her a story, or explaining one of his inventions to her (which she never gets bored with btw, because everything that boy gushes about is fascinating to her <3). Basically he figures if he entertains her enough, it’ll take her mind off of whatever is freaking her out and she won’t fixate on it as much. Anna’s approach is more to accentuate the positives in a bad situation (although like I mentioned in Part 1, not really in a condescending “count your blessings, it could be worse!” kind of way, but more in a “I hope he’ll feel better if he focuses on happy things” kind of way, if that makes any sense?) and also focus on when Hiccup DID do great and utterly kick ass and tell him he’s always better than he thinks he is. 89. What is an inside joke they have? If anything, him calling her “Tiger” as a pet name (which I think I mentioned briefly in Part 1??? Can’t remember) is this, because in my mind it developed because whenever Anna is about to do some Dumb Shit, or punch someone she really shouldn’t in the face, Hiccup has to physically hold her back like “Whoa, slow down there, Tiger!” This happens so frequently that eventually it just gets shortened to him nicknaming her “Tiger” and all their friends are kind of baffled as to why XD 90. Who makes the other smile with almost no effort at all? Hiccup barely even needs to start talking in funny accents or imitating his dad before Anna is just DYING laughing. She thinks he’s the funniest damn person on earth. He honestly gets a kick out of her impressions too--she can do some pretty amusing ones, if that deleted coronation dress-up scene from Frozen 1 is anything to go by. So the feeling is mutual!!! They’re super good at making each other smile and laugh with little to no effort!!! 91. What is their favourite holiday? I feel like Anna especially would get REALLY into Christmas/Yule, mainly because of how much Elsa can spice it up with her powers. And judging by the OFA short, Arendelle gets very hyped for the holidays in general, so it’s probably hard NOT to have a good time. Anna probably also like Mayday a lot because the dancing, the spring cheeriness, and the flower-related festivities are definitely to her taste. Hiccup just likes the energy and general vibes, and would rather sit back and relax and watch Anna dance around and have fun XD Also dun best believe they BOTH get hella into Halloween, because they’re dramatic motherfuckers who loves to dress up, and it gives Anna an excuse to buy a shitton of chocolate and eat all the leftovers XD 92. Who is the one that is calm and collected while the other is angry and destructive? Lmao Anna is definitely the “berserker” of the two of them. She DOES tend to get destructive when she’s angry, if being ready to fight a giant-ass snowman and smacking a wolf in the face with a lute is anything to go by. Hiccup is definitely the calm and collected one, and very rarely gets genuinely angry. 93. What is their favourite board game to play? Does Dungeons and Dragons count??? I can totally imagine Hiccup being hyped up over that or some other super nerdy RPG game and being so enthused to show it to Anna, who just falls even more in love with him after seeing how EXCITED he gets about it. Of course he’s super eager to teach her, and TBH Anna has a really hard time getting it at first because DAMN these rules are COMPLICATED, but after she finally gets the hang of it, she realizes she absolutely LOVES DnD and RPG games in general (I mean...have you SEEN OFA??? Girl gets just a little TOO into reminiscing about her old play-pretend toys XD) and she and Hiccup constantly geek out about it together. 94. Who accidental sets something on fire? Anna, 100% also this is an ever funnier question if applied to Hiccanna in my Fire!Anna AU 95. Who has the car ready while the other is robbing the store? Anna is waiting while Hiccup robs the store, if for no other reason than that Hiccup is much better at Stealth Mode than Anna is XD Anna’s uncoordinated ass would probably knock over like 5 shelves’ worth of merchandise before reaching what they were actually trying to rob XD 96. What artist/group did they go to for their first concert? I M A G I N E D R A G O N S lmao Look what can I say Anna likes the Imagine and Hiccup likes the Dragons 97. Who sleep talks? Hiccup. He mumbles about dragons a lot. Sometimes he jolts awake randomly and just yells out “THE DRAGONS ARE IN TROUBLE!” and Anna has to calm him down after she dutifully manages to not burst into laughter at this. Doubly funny if this takes place in a Modern AU. 98. Who is the more social one? Anna! Hiccup generally prefers to either keep to himself or hang out with animals. 99. What are their karaoke songs? For some reason I feel like anything by P!nk??? Idk why, but I can see them like rocking out and singing along to p!nk songs together and getting really into it. Also basically anything by The Killers and, at Anna’s request, The Chainsmokers (Hiccup thinks this is very basic music indeed but goes along with it for her sake XD). AND “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons. And they sing it LOUD. 100. Who would get up on stage and make a fool of themselves just to make the other laugh? Highkey both of them??? I kinda feel like Hiccup moreso though, if his little comedy routine imitating his dad in HTTYD2 is anything to go off of. He definitely wouldn’t be averse to making an idiot of himself to amuse Anna, especially since she’s so damn cute when she laughs. Anna, for her part, loves returning the favor, and is all about trying to do all sorts of Goofy Antics to amuse her boyfriend. And she’s overdramatic af, so she gets WAY too into it XD

Who was your first big crush? I would probably say this guy in high school named Sebastian. We sat beside each other in Art, and I definitely liked him a lot. hope you don't mind me asking, do you have any Isaac and Miria headcanons? i'd love to read some from you. you appear to have a good grasp on the characters, and great love for them. :)

some of these will probably get into theory territory as well, because i’ve had the novels sitting in my mind for years now, and there are a few details i’d like to mention (beware of baccano light novel spoilers, just in case).

this could get a bit long, so you can read it below the cut:

i’ll write my headcanons/thoughts in no particular order. more people might have come to similar conclusions, but i don’t think i’ve seen any posts or had any discussions with anyone regarding these (at least in depth), so!

- i like to think that miria and isaac ran away from their then (seemingly) unhappy lives after they got to interact with each other for quite a while, and not spontaneously upon meeting for the first time.

there isn’t much evidence to back this up beyond some characters commenting that they “were probably runaways” or that “maybe they eloped”, so they might have escaped together on the spot, since we already know they can be very impulsive. however, i get this feeling that their bond took some time to develop, and i’d love to see some of their interactions as isaac dian —and— miria harvent before they ever became isaac & miria, if that makes sense.

i doubt they met too long before their string of robberies, though? this is such a weirdly specific and probably meaningless thing to pinpoint, but in 1935 miria asks isaac if he’s ever been to the circus, and he responds that he does remember animals, but he doesn’t remember if that was the circus or the zoo. this hardly means anything, but their circumstances overall don’t really make me think that they’ve known each other since they were too young.

- whatever optimism and general exhilaration regarding life isaac has is innate. on the other hand, miria has mostly acquired her own sense of hopefulness over time, with isaac’s help.

miria is a 100% confirmed literal ray of sunshine and this indisputable. it just hasn’t/doesn’t always come to her as effortlessly as it may seem. bloody to fair isaac and miria magic show color page.png

this is somewhat related to the next one (and also the last point i’ll mention at the end of this post):

- when isaac gets arrested and he and miria get separated in 1934, they’re both having an equally hard time dealing with this.

okay this one is like. obvious ksjksk. but i wanted to talk about how they deal with this situation, because at first glance it looks like miria got the shortest end of the stick here. and in a way, that might be true! i’ve already mentioned that miria herself has been shown thinking about how much isaac helped her to be happy, and narita has been deliberately vague regarding the nature of their silliness, on top of hinting at the possibility of their shenanigans being a kind of mechanism to escape the harsh realities of life from the rolling bootlegs (very first novel), if i recall correctly.

(btw:

i recall that somewhere in the 1935 arc, graham starts talking with the usual “let me tell you a sad, sad story” prelude. however, isaac and miria are upset by this, and they tell him that he shouldn’t tell sad stories, because if you do it, your happiness will run away. meanwhile, this part in cloudy to rainy living rent free in my head:

that being said, i couldn’t help but feel like isaac was having an equally bad time, even if he displayed it in a different and not so blatant way. while i was rereading the novels after i got to buy the official english release, i felt very strongly that something was definitely wrong about their separation, which, again, is obvious to us readers and to the characters who know isaac & miria. but it extends beyond that. there was this general feeling of knowing that whoever came across an unaccompanied isaac would magically feel like there was something missing. i don’t know how else to explain this. he’s still full of energy and optimism and he’s fueled by his desire to reunite with miria, but every time he’s shown hesitating or doesn’t reach a satisfying conclusion while thinking about a frivolous topic, it hits you like “oh... right” (firo didn’t help much on that last front, either, so miria and isaac must have had to discuss what exactly happens to fellas who don’t believe in fairies after their reunion... lol)

in short, he needs miria just as much as she needs him. this is something i’ve seen other people mention as well: isaac might be the “force” factor in their relationship, but that force won’t amount to much without miria’s “direction”, and viceversa. the lift each other up, and they keep each other grounded, too.

i’m also remembering isaac and sham’s conversation and just. there’s a self-esteem/confidence factor in there. Fun Game of Spot the Difference

and this is getting ridiculously long, so i’ll spare you from having to read my dumb thots about isaac’s (possibly real) fear of miria not liking him, as the narrator implies, which i subconsciously ended up linking to that one impossibly crack ending in the ds game, where you pick the option of him not knowing frankenstein’s monster’s real name, so miria leaves him after realizing how “cheap and uncool” he is LMAO

- isaac’s father might have been an academic of some sort, as well as a stern man who disapproved of his son’s flighty and childish tendencies.

???????? besides miria’s implied tragic backstory, the most we know about both of their pasts is that isaac comes from a wealthy family with whom he seems to have a bad relationship with, so even though i’ve tried to work out other details (his parents’ provenance for instance?) i can’t really elaborate on this. even if isaac’s knowledge on the topic is pretty scrambled (to put it nicely lol), he knows a lot about “the orient” as he puts it, and the “dian” surname is pretty unique so who knows!👀 i’ve only mentioned his father because isaac, too, has only mentioned his "old man” twice so far in the novels, if i’m not mistaken. in my opinion, it also speaks volumes how flustered isaac got when molsa apologized to him, because it was the first time someone older than him has done this. and this is pretty arbitrary, but if isaac started robbing and getting into trouble before he and miria even met and/or before he got kicked out/ran away from home, that whole deal about “being used to dealing with policemen” (in the unofficial translation i read back in the day it was something along the lines of “this isn’t my first time being interrogated by the police”) in 1934 would make sense, i guess, considering that miria didn’t realize what was going on at the moment even though she’s a fairly perceptive person.

anyways it’s too bad we don’t know that much about miria on this front, also!! i get the vague feeling that she might have also come from a wealthy family (probably not a good environment, though), since in 1935 it’s mentioned that the closest they’ve ever gotten to working/having a job was when they were digging for gold, apparently. that’s why i can’t really think of anything too specific regarding miria’s past and upbringing... i have a feeling that she might have felt alone, trapped and/or overwhelmed. let’s just hope that when she said her bruises would heal up fine with ice in 1935 it had nothing to do with this “i should have died” business :(((

- even though isaac and miria love their friends and would do anything for them, they aren’t particularly attached to anyone (or any place) besides each other.

this is more of an observation than a headcanon, but i find it really interesting: they would definitely do anything for their friends, and they do enjoy life very intensely, but that’s precisely why they don’t seem to be fixed in one singular spot? basically, i feel like they’re the personification of “home is where the heart is” taken to the extreme. they could go anywhere and do anything as long as they have each other, and they will never make any attempts to actively do things that make it easier to label their relationship, such as getting married, which is heavily implied by firo (i think) in 2002 bullet garden (i think!!). that’s also part of the reason why i’m sure they’d never find themselves commiting to things like taking care of a pet, or a child; it’s more like they instantly “adopt” everyone they run into, as if they’ve always been friends, even if they won’t meet again for months, years, or ever again. anyway, isaac and miria are extremely good and they are literally going to be happy together forever and ever! they don’t need to prove that.

that doesn’t mean they’re not sentimental, though! i like to think that they keep some meaningful objects that remind them of fond memories of their friends. and this is hardly canon because it shows up in the anime And in a background at that, but shoutout to the rocking toy horse in their california mine lol.

- miria knew about her own immortality (as well as isaac’s) before the 2000s.

THIS IS PROBABLY MY SPICIEST TAKE and i tried to back it up in the next point of this list. i still keep thinking i’m reading too much, into this but

i can’t stop thinking about the implications, folks

which brings us to:

- miria is smarter than isaac is and actually has a fairly good idea of when he’s making stuff up, but is happy to let him take the lead.

i won’t deny that isaac and miria dedicate a huge chunk of their day to doing moronic stuff, and they are pretty dumb, but i feel like people don’t give them enough credit for how perceptive they are. even though that’s true of the two of them, i feel like this mostly applies to miria.

among other things, we’ve learned that she knows ronny isn’t human and has supernatural powers (wow), which is why she comes to him for help after isaac’s arrest. she’s very good at paying attention to small details, such as the kind of programs ennis watches on tv, or chané’s feelings, when the two talk in 1934. miria also “really knows her way around japanese” and has been shown to --apparently?-- multiply large numbers in her head in 1935... while isaac was talking about how good of an idea it would be to use the martingale betting system. not to mention how isaac stated he “doesn’t know how to count money” earlier in this arc. my god ksdjgjks. i want to know what’s up with this, if anything.

ok so! mara is what i like to call ‘a textbook new yorker’ in that she’s Loud, she Loves Her Family and she’s Unapologetically Herself. my character inspirations for her are joey from netflix’s the circle, fran fine from the nanny, molly gunn from uptown girls and a little bit of cher from clueless sprinkled in there ( mainly bcos of this gifset lmao ). since i came up with her a few weeks ago, i really had so many different personalities for her but like.. let’s keep reading to see that literally all of them were apparently Not True ~

she was born into a very tightly-knit family & grew up constantly surrounded by them. she’s got three older brothers, meaning she’s the Baby of the family, so she’s been uhhhhhh doted on all her life! we stan! that said, she’s never known what its like to be on her own, especially considering that her family was right by her side every step of the way as she slowly grew her career from childhood. she got her start singing the national anthem at a knicks game when she was 8 and slowly built from there. her parents were always suuuper supportive and did all they could to help her achieve her dreams, even though they were struggling to make ends meet.

her parents own a small bakery in queens that they started when her oldest brother was little and have been a staple in the city ever since. though they’re a somewhat popular spot for tourists and locals alike, ny real estate isn’t cheap, so paying rent both for the store and their apartment above it has always been a struggle, especially once they started dedicating a good portion of their money to plane tickets and agents and all sorts of necessities mara needed in order for her dreams to come true. the extra expense was difficult on her brothers as well, though they made a point never to complain when they had to get a second or third job to help pay the bills.

ANYWAYS she grew up veryyyy close to her family and the sacrifices they made on her behalf didn’t go unnoticed, so the first thing she did when she finally Made It was buy them a bigger space for their bakery ( since her parents Love working it even if its rough sometimes, buddy ) and a new house so ;) we love a Family First mentality!

HOWEVER!! when mara first moved to LA in like?? 2015 or something?? idk timelines.. but anyways when she first moved to LA she was.. how u say.... Depressed cos like even though she was Living Her Dream as the artist she’s always wanted to be ( she lived in queens w/ her family up until after her first Big Break cos she’s a big time daddy’s girl ) .. she was essentially on her own since her family stayed in nyc :/ yk, where they live? yeah. so she was on her own for the first time... Ever & it was scary and stressful and essentially, she wasn’t doing great mentally or emotionally, even if she put on that *ari vc* fake smile.

that was untiiiiiiil she got her first ~ hollywood boyfriend ~ aka someone famous who helped both with her career and as a salve to the constant loneliness the bitch always feelin. long story short, he didn’t last long, but she Needed to feel Wanted so she got Another ~ hollywood boyfriend ~ until it became, like, Her Thing to Always be attached to someone in the tabloids and the press and on Entertainment Tonight. we love a codependent bitch! that’s also kinda how she got to be part of the met cartel cos she immediately attaches herself fully and completely to everyone she meets & falls a little bit in love with every person who has ever said hello to her, so.. Yeah! most of her friendships were likely formed because she just would not leave them alone ( she’s clingy and needy As Fuck, but she knows she is, so she’s constantly worrying about it aka she’s always wondering if people really like her cos she’s been said to be “too much” and “annoying” by some people who.. weren’t interested in being her friend ) anyways.. feel free to lmk if u want ur chara to hate her cos she will fully have her feelings hurt but still want them to like her cos shes a, say it with me kids, people pleaser ~

Anon who just messaged me just now: omg seriously do not ever ever ever feel guilty about not being able to donate any more, like srsly, I appreciate EVERYTHING that everyone’s done to get me to this point, nothing has been anything short of life-saving. There have literally been days these past six months where I only had a spare two or three bucks to buy food with after rent, and thus was only able to eat because of someone’s $2 donation.

I completely mean it when I say each donation post I’ve made with like, an extreme sense of panic behind it, or that Moukie’s helped me out on, those were ones for stuff that was extremely time sensitive and stressful and urgent and that I could NEVER have managed to make without help. And with each of them, I pretty much juuuuust managed to scrape by with what I needed to come up with - so I’m being 100% literal (for a change, lol) when I claim that I do not think I would be able to be in this position right now if not for literally EVERY single donation I received these past six months.

I just mean like, obviously I don’t know who this is or how much you donated or whatever, but even without being able to tell donations apart, I can confidently say you and everyone else can feel free to feel directly responsible for getting me to where I needed to reach, because like.....its totally and completely true. I may not know how much you donated, but I srsly want everyone to know that whatever amount they sent, whatever it cost them to send it, whatever they had to give up or go without or save or budget elsewhere more than usual (and trust me, I KNOW people sacrificed in order to help me, and I will never ever be able to convey how much I’ve been affected just by KNOWING that people have at times prioritized my situation over their own personal priorities and concerns in order to help me hang in here) - just, yeah, anything you sent, whatever the amount, if it caused any issues for you at all, please please PLEASE know that it absolutely made all the difference in the world for me.

I would never ever want someone to screw themselves over to help me, trust me!! Like, I’m trying to be better about not doing the self-deprecating shtick as much, lol, so I don’t wanna say I’m not worth it, like I feel I’m a pretty cool guy and all and my need was definitely real, lmao, but that doesn’t make anyone else’s needs or issues any less real. You gotta take care of yourself, first and foremost, before you can afford to help others - I get that and truly believe that.

Our fucked up world needs as many giving and generous and community-minded people as it can get, these days, and that for sure includes the people who will hunt around for the absolute last $5 they have, in order to help someone else out....and it absolutely means those are people the world definitely needs to hang in there and stay okay - so always take care of yourself first and foremost, so that you can be your best self when you do have the opportunity to help others.

I don’t think anyone could say that’s selfish by any stretch of the imagination - I think its more like you just making sure you can bring your A-game. No matter someone else’s situation, you shouldn’t ever lose sight of the fact that you are every bit as important and worth prioritizing as any one else.

For the record, I truly do think I’m gonna be fine from here, I've crunched the numbers and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be able to stretch what I have enough for it to last me during this home stretch.

My surgery was SUPPOSED to be yesterday, but last Tuesday I got a call from my doctor about red tape crap with my insurance company so I was trying to sort that out all last week and thus it got pushed back another couple weeks, bleh, but I’m pretty positive I can make it work and won’t need to ask for anymore help.

I’ve made it through everything I need to do on my end at this point, and now its literally just a waiting game. Just trying to conserve energy and avoid stress as much as possible and give my jaw as little reason to be an asshole as possible, lol, so if I’m sporadic the next couple weeks like I was this past week, that’s the only reason why, nothing bad or anything like that. Just....me not being Good at Patience. LOL.

I understand people wanting to stay anonymous about donations, so I don’t know if anyone will ever take me up on this, but for real, if there’s ever anything I can do or help you out with, don’t hesitate to ask. If its within my capabilities, I would be super happy for the chance to give back in any way at all, and if its genuinely out of reach for me, I’ll figure out what I can do that’s still hopefully helpful in some ways. *Shrugs* If nothing else, I’m told I give good pep talks, when needed? LOL.

But for real, your message was sweet but totally in no way anything you need to justify or defend or explain to me at all. I’m only here because of what everyone’s already done on my behalf, and I would much rather people direct their goodwill towards others in need at this point, or treat themselves, than worry about me financially from here on out. The most helpful thing for me at this point is just good thoughts and hopes for a speedy rescheduling date.

(And that like, the doctor doesn’t accidentally nick a facial nerve and paralyze my face. Apparently that’s only a really really really slim chance and doesn’t happen often these days, but I just mean. Y’know. That would kinda bum me out, so I figure it can’t hurt to get some “Hi universe and also can you make sure the nice doctor doesn’t like, break Kalen’s face, please and thank you” energy out there.)

Your friend's beach wedding imagine

*this is mostly for me because this is the literal reason I'm losing weight and it's probably shit because I've never written one of these lmao i also tried to make it somewhat realistic also it’s going to be really fucking long ok I'll stop now*

Your friend's wedding is tomorrow, but you're travelling down early to have time to settle into your holiday home that you're renting with your 2 friends and your boyfriend, and it's by the beach!

It's a 2hr drive, and because the weather is nice you wear shorts and a tshirt on the journey. Before, these shorts would ride up between your thighs and your thighs and lovehandles would be bursting out of them. But now, they're loose around your stomach and your legs are comfortable in them even though they still squish together when you sit. Your dainty arm rests on the car window and you have to be careful you don't lose your bracelets as they could slip over your hands. Your boyfriend rests his hand on your thigh and you take a picture and post it to instagram, because your legs look smaller under his hands.

You get to the house and take in your suitcase. You think back to when you had to wear tights with shorts or skirts so that your thighs didn't chafe, but now they don't touch when you walk. You watch your friend and her boyfriend bringing their stuff into the house, and she has clearly not tried to get her summer bod this year. She must be so hot in those jeans she's wearing and her arms jiggle a bit when she moves them. You silently congratulate yourself on not giving up the past few months.

That evening you decide to take a walk along the beach. You wear a short flowy dress that's slightly sheer, with a pair of flipflops and a small bikini underneath. Your boyfriend tells you how beautiful you look, like he always has, and you leave hand in hand.

There's a cool breeze coming in from the ocean and the salt in the air makes your hair a little frizzy. You walk into the water in your flipflops and it's so cold. You seem to be able to feel the temperature so much more now. Your friend comes up and stands next to you. She takes a picture of both of your feet going into the water and you notice how your calves are slightly smaller than hers.

Everyone’s hungry for dinner but nobody wants hot food because it’s a warm evening. You mix up a salad for everyone with lemon chicken breast, which all comes to about 190 cals. Because you’ve eaten well today you treat yourself to a glass of white wine (103 cals). You all go to bed and your boyfriend wraps his arm around your waist, which makes you slightly uncomfortable, but you’ve got used to the fact that all stomachs pudge out a bit in sleep, and yours doesn’t do it as much as it used to.

You wake up early, excited for the wedding, drink a tall glass of lemon water and start your day with small stretches, just for 3 minutes. Everyone else is still asleep so you go downstairs and into the small garden. It’s still cool outside but the sun is already bringing its warmth to your slightly boney shoulders. You put in headphones and listen to the ‘Spotify and Chill’ playlist on Spotify while making yourself a bowl of fruit for your breakfast (100 cals). You sit on your sofa and write a post on Tumblr while picking at your fruit.

Soon, everyone is awake and eating pastries for breakfast, and you sit with them drinking a green tea. It makes you feel a little queasy to see them pasting butter and jam onto their croissants like it’s nothing, so you leave the table to get dressed.

You do your makeup first- simple, eyeliner and a light shimmery eye shadow. You don’t need much. As you do your makeup you sip at another glass of water. You’re glad that you have brought all your makeup with you because wow your dark circles are making an appearance today, but it’s fine, the dress distracts from that.

Your dress is navy with silver detailing, and you had to get it very last minute as a lot of your other dresses didn’t fit you so well anymore, they went a bit loose and baggy. You pin your hair back, which shows off your slim neck, and get your shoes ready to put on for when you leave.

Everyone else looks amazing in their suits and your friend has a beautiful gold dress that suits her really well. You look in the mirror and notice that your arms look a little big still, but your friend notices you frowning in the mirror and tells you you look great.

You arrive at the wedding and it’s beautifully simple. Your friend getting married looks stunning in her dress that took her ages to choose. You look tiny compared to her though, because she’s tall and has broader shoulders, and your small frame is much less noticeable in the pictures.

Nobody else notices that you’ve lost weight, which you’re fine with, because you did it for you and not anyone else. You feel so much more confident in yourself and you’re more comfortable talking to the people you don’t know at the wedding because you know you look great. You sit and note everyone’s legs and how they’re mostly bigger or the same size as yours. Everyone’s wrists have bracelets or watches that are threatening to break off.

Everyone sits for the meal which is a roast dinner, and you pass on the gravy (489 cals). You cheers with a glass of champagne (116 cals) and feel satisfied with only eating half of what they had served you, although it was large servings. You give the rest of your food to your boyfriend. Dessert is cake, which makes you uncomfortable, but you don’t want to be rude. You complain that you’re pretty full and that you’ll share with your boyfriend instead (300 cals). It’s a lot but it’s a wedding and you’re there to celebrate not count calories. You’ll likely burn off that much and more at the afterparty.

Once everyone has eaten and settled, the party starts. You dance with your friends for what must have been hours, and after helping your friend throw up in the bathroom (too much champagne) you all wander back to your house. Your friends raid the fridge, but you and your boyfriend quietly leave to bed. Your intake for that day was 1,005, which was better than you expected.

The next morning, everyone gets ready to go to the beach before having to head home. You pack up your bags and put on a bikini and a pair of shorts and flip flops. Your friend has done the same and you comment on how you’re matching, and when you stand next to each other you note how your ribs show more when you breathe in than hers do. Walking there, you are able to walk next to your boyfriend on the pathway, since now you take up less space. Your friend and her boyfriend have to walk in front of each other.

When you get there, you take off your shorts and all race down to the water. Your friend and her boyfriend swim next to each other, but your boyfriend picks you up. You feel uncomfortable with him feeling your weight, but he doesn’t seem bothered. You let yourself float for a while, totally weightless in the water, feeling like you could just float away. You play around in the water and other people on the beach watch you all. You start to feel a little self conscious so you go to sit on the sand, and you think about all the effort you put in to be where you are now. You try to block the sun with your thin hand, which takes up less space than it used to. You boyfriend notices you sitting on the sand and runs up and grabs your arm to drag you back to the sea. His hand is able to fit the whole way around your arm now, and the small sense of accomplishment makes you smile and you give in and go back to them.

Eventually it’s time to go back home, so you put clothes on and get back in the car. As you drive away from your holiday home, you wrap your fingers around your wrist to remind yourself of everything you worked for.

A: best story, shadows of london hands down. the story is good, the pacing is good, all the characters are fleshed out despite being just one chapter. worst story is helen of sparta :')) i really hope if they ever finish that one, the next chapter redeems the characters and the story because i feel like it COULD be good, but right now it just. really is not. i still wanna see it finished tho lmao [edit: MAGIC LAMP IS ALSO SO GOOD, it's the same with the great story, good pacing, and fleshed out characters!!!]

Since I'm posting again...

I figure I'll post about why I've disappeared from Tumblr for about a million years. I missed all you people that I don't actually talk to but enjoy seeing posts from.

This year has been total shit. I don't know what my last "update" was, but I doubt anyone else will remember either.

I'm finally on ADHD medication (as of November), which has made a very slight difference in my ability to function. However, I'm thinking of asking for something different. I'm on Adderall XR, and I'm wondering if Vyvanse would be more helpful. It costs twice as much, but if it helps, it would be worth it.

Despite taking daily amphetamines, I've gained even more weight and I'm at my highest weight since pregnancy. (I'm not taking Adderall for weight loss, of course, but it would have been a really nice side effect. I have little to no appetite, but I still eat way too much because depression anxiety and laziness.)

In January, we found out Toys R Us was closing. My partner has been a supervisor there for ten years, so this was a pretty devastating blow for us. His last day was in April. Fortunately, he was only unemployed for about a month. In the week after TRU closed, he helped a local mom and pop toy store owner move some shelves that they'd bought from the TRU liquidation. That got his foot in the door, and now he's actually making more money there than he was at TRU.... To the tune of an extra $250 a week. Better yet, they love him. And his boss? Small world, he was my favorite patient at my old job. So we're going into this with me already knowing and liking his boss! And a fun bonus: when new movies come out, they rent out entire rows at the theater and all the employees and whoever they want to invite can go see it. Eric went to see Solo with them-- I've been trying to convince him to go out and do things with people for literally our entire relationship, so I was THRILLED about this. Also, the store sells mostly older collectibles, so when he saw what his toys were worth, he was psyched. He sold two of his old action figures this week for $400, and he gets 60% of that on consignment.

The salary increase and extra money is great, because in February, my car broke down. The transmission died, and as it was a POS 1996 Lexus, it would have cost four times what the car was worth to fix it. So we've been sharing a car, which has been difficult, but thankfully both our jobs close at 8 and we're right across the street from each other. While he was still at TRU, he was sometimes getting off around 10, which meant keeping my daughter out way too late. But now we can start saving for a down payment on a car, and actually afford car payments without having to live on ramen.

Also in February, his mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. This has been hard. Last week, she had her final surgery to remove the cancerous mass from her lung. She came home on Thursday and she's doing well. Aside from the anxiety over her diagnosis, this has been hard in about a dozen other ways. She had some moments where she was legitimately scared that she wouldn't get to see Shilo grow up, and this was made even harder when she lost her hair. She looked different, and Shilo acted scared of her. I don't know if she was having trouble recognizing her or what. And then to top it off, they've always been pretty well off financially and have always been able to help out their kids when needed-- including us. But there was a lot of things their insurance didn't pay for, and they had a $100 copay for each radiation treatment for six weeks. We haven't needed help with money, thankfully, but under normal circumstances they may have been able to help us get a new car. They also missed their granddaughter's graduation in Texas, which I know was disappointing. Eric's unemployment was actually helpful though, because he was able to stay home with Shilo for the greater part of his mom's chemo and radiation.

All that aside, there have been a lot of daily stressors and disappointments for me. I don't know how much I should really go into here, since someone could stumble into my blog.... Eh, I think I have it locked from public view, so.

One of the biggest things that bugged me was my mom. I didn't get to see her for Christmas because on Christmas eve, it was more important to her to go pass out coffee at a local men's shelter. (I know it sounds noble, but sometimes I wonder. She's wound up dating several of the men there.) I had to work on Christmas day. I didn't see her until the end of January at my niece's birthday party. She didn't bring Shilo's Christmas presents with her, because we had planned to do lunch before the party but neither of us felt well enough for it, so she decided not to bring the presents. I brought her and Lily's presents, because I knew it could be a while before we could get together, and it was already a month late. After that, she said several times she would come over with them. One day, she had told me she was going to be down the street at Walmart and would drop by... She actually called me from Walmart to ask me for diet advice.... And didn't come over when she was done.

In May, she finally just brought the presents to me at work, because she was at a dentist appointment in the same complex I work in. I didn't ACTUALLY see her until last week.

In all that time, she knew about all the crap I've been going through, and she hasn't checked on me one single time. In fact, the week after my car broke down, she called me to brag that she had traded in her perfectly good, brand new car for an even newer car. This was particularly infuriating to me, because I was busting my ass working overtime and working every single holiday and I was barely making rent (forget any chance of getting even a cheap functioning car), but she's on SSDI and is taking on this huge car payment for literally no reason.

Then, when we finally did get together and go to lunch, she spent the first fifteen minutes listing every celebrity who has ever @ her on Twitter (despite me saying repeatedly "I have no idea who that is" and showing zero interest in the discussion because c'mon), talked about herself the whole time, and didn't ask me any questions about how things are going. When I did manage to get a word in, it was about Shilo's behavior at school, and she took over the conversation again to tell me about this place where you can drop autistic kids off for a few hours (but they're not even a licensed childcare facility, which makes me nervous, and they don't list their prices on their website which means I can't afford them). They also have family classes and actives and whatever, but still, I'm sure I can't afford them.

One of the things that really hurt me though? She had been "too busy" to see us for nearly six months, but she had time to make a 400 mile round trip to the other end of the state to spend time with my high school roommate and her children... Two weekends in a row, including on Mother's Day weekend. But yeah, too fucking busy to see her own daughter and granddaughter. When I tried to confront her on it, she was really blasé about it and deflected the conversation.

And? She didn't tell me that she broke up with her boyfriend months ago, and was not living where I thought she was living. In fact, I'm pretty sure she straight up lied to me about it, because she sent me what appeared to be an accidental text about moving, and when I said "wait what, you're moving?" she said "oh yeah from one trailer to the other" (they were living in a trailer park where you can only stay six months due to the sewage system or something, so they bought two trailers so they could move to the second every six months).

It's all made me feel really alone. I miss my grandma, because she never would have treated me this way. My mom is the only "family" I have, and she has zero interest in being part of my life.

Anyway, done with that section.

Shilo has been very violent at school, to a point where we actually got TWO behavior referrals in one day (a slip explaining her behavior and consequences-- usually involves missing recess, having to eat lunch in the principal's office, and/or writing an apology letter). It's been frustrating, and I haven't been sure what to do since I work so much and have my own issues with executive function and lack the ability to keep a stable routine. I'm hoping next year will be better, and I'm going to get a behavior intervention plan added to her IEP so we can figure out WHY she acts this way instead of just trying to correct the behavior after it happens. They do try to circumvent the behavior, mostly using social stories before transitions and things, but I don't think it's working.

Another big thing is that I got my IUD removed, and while I'm pissed about having a real menstrual cycle again, I'm shocked at some of the effects the IUD had on me that I didn't even realize. It turns out it was really dampening my sex drive, and portions of my personality. Suddenly I was interested in sex again and attracted to anything that moves lmao. An increased sex drive is a bad thing for me though, which I won't go into here.... But in short, let's say that it's caused some hurt feelings due to rejection.

haha hey so i loaned my dad/parents $2,000 last year so they could buy a new car because the one we had shit out and they said theyd pay it back but apparently its all just going into my rent payments now that I’ve stopped paying them because I dont have a job and I’m moving out to go to school soon (of which i talked to them about and agreed to not charge me anymore because im trying to leave, but ya know.) also lemme tell you how disgusting this fucking house is an how it’s NOT WORTH 600$ a month to live in ontop of the fucking stress to live here with my fucking family ONTOP of the fact I would NEVER pay to live here and would have moved out a long time ago if I wasnt fuckign financially strapped down and obligated to CONTINUE to live in this shit house BECAUSE they were demanding $600 a month rent from me when I was working a part time job ((((: So now I’m sitting here stressed tf out about going into debt using loan money to help pay with my future rent and living funds while I try to go to school and get a better future for myself and you know what would make me really less stressed??? That two thousand dollars I gave them. That would essentially be enough ontop of what i have left saved from work to pay for my year of rent and a little of loan to help pay for extras. but no im sitting here stressed tf out about moving two hours tf away to go to a new school that im scared im just going to drop tf out of with all the god damn stresss i went to school 4 years ago and dropped out my second year because i got mega fucking depressed and so im terrified if i try to get a job ontop of full time school and on top of the fucking monumentous stress i already fucking hav about it all ILL JUST END UP DROPPING OUT LMFAO

so yeah long story short i felt “family” obligated to pay $7,200 in rent last year plus give my parents a loan of $2,000 for a truck and I’m never going to see that $2,000 again because im too fuckign terrified to talk to my dad because he’s a large man with anger issues and a giant fucking pride and thinks $600 a month is perfectly reasonable when I live in fucking squalor of other peoples doings im literally the only fucking on that cleans this fucking house asides maybe the once a month random vacuums and kitchen counter wipes my parents will do this place is disgusting and broken and I’m financially in fucking shit because of family obligations if I never see that $2k again honestly im not talking to my family again because theyre not fucking family and this isnt just about money its about every last fucking thing theyve NEVER done and HAVE done. How about that time my mom broke into my room and told me to kill myself when i was deep in depresssion? how abotu that time i asked for braces for christmas and they told me they spent all the money they saved on weed instead? how about every single fucking time I was ever sad and depressed and wanted to kill myself and they were just emotionally vacant and never there? All the fucking times I’ve tried to talk to them about somethign but theyve been both EMOTIONALLY vacant and also PHYSICALLY vacant out in the backyard choosing to smoke and get high instead of be around at all? yeah. This isnt family and it hasnt been since i was maybe 10 years old. This is simply some fucking weird obligated tied by blood and I can’t wait to fucking get out of it im not cold hearted, ive tried my fucking best and my hardest to be nice to my mother even after all the fuckign abusive shit she pulled after hearing her say “oh i know you’ll come around eventually” when Ive told her 100 times I’m NOT HAVING KIDS and how she feels im a lazy fucking piece of shit how she doesnt even support me as queer how neither of my parents do how my dad still calls me my dead name because “its just like someone username or handle. i knew you as x and youre always x lmao” like go fucking choke you bitch of an old man you know family obligation and loving your family no matter what fucking escapes me theres no love here its fucking obligation and bitterness and you know on one hand she birthed me and wanted kids so badly so i feel bad if i was to ever just disappear but on the other hand they were never parents when I fuckign needed them most they tried but they didnt ever try hard enough imo and now im 23 and have no emotional connection what so ever to any of them and so when I move out and im eventually stable enough not to rely on them im not coming back for shit and you know ill probably regret it and feel bad and all that family obligatioin crap when they die but you know at the same time im fucking right off and not coming back because i cant even leave my room to make food without feeling like im going to fucking explode in anger and stress and thats so fucking embarassing tryig to make a fucking dinner with your boyfriend and you cant even be in the fucking kitchen without wanting to scream and freak out its so fucking embarassing the house smells of dog and cat piss and when i leave and cat take my cat with me hes probably going to get fat and/or fucking DIE because they just dont fucking care about animals at all so all in all im down at least $2,000 that I need right now and will never see again and I hate my fucking family and I cant wait to move tf out because yeah im going to be stressed but not like this not fucking like this

it’s been like 1287461872467124 years but i finally have an update!!!

soulmate!non-idol!wonwoo where you’re born with a tattoo of your soulmate’s name in their handwriting on your skin

honestly you’ve checked over your entire body probably like a hundred times by the time you were ten

because your parents kept asking if you knew what your soulmate’s name was

but you????couldn’t find anything that resembled a name

you just had a really oddly shaped birthmark on your wrist where your soulmate’s name was supposed to be

and you swear that it could be their name

but even your friends are like lmao,,,,,,,,,not even a doctor’s handwriting could be that bad

so you basically went on with your life believing that you didn’t have a soulmate

your friends have tried to comfort you they really have

your best friend baked you an entire cake one time even though you knew they weren’t the best chef

and you were so,,,,,,,,,,,,touched?? it made you feel instantly better (even if the icing wasn’t spread evenly and the cake tasted saltier than necessary)

you go through high school without worrying about the whole soulmate thing because all your friends are just as alone as you (lowkey sounds mean but i say this in the most loving way)

it’s not until you enter university that things start to kinda go,,,,,downhill?

your friends start finding their soulmates and eventually they start going on like double dates and even triple dates

and you’re stuck sitting on the couch waiting for your friend and roommate to return so you two can binge watch some tv shows or something

(unfortunately they normally get back super late ):)

after your first year of university when you start looking for an apartment you decide to find someone who hasn’t found their soulmate yet (also because your roommate and their soulmate once put a sock on the door handle and you were stuck outside the dorm for the rest of the night,,,,,,,,)

your best friend though is like noOOOoO!!!!! i’ll be your roommate :)))))))))))))) and you’re like oNly if you don’t diTCH me for your soulmate and they’re like lMAo who do you think i am of cOURse not (maybe, may be n o t)

so you and your best friend rent an apartment together and everything goes suPER smoothly for you two

wonwoo on the other hand

he’s known the name of his soulmate (you) since forever because your name is printed sO neatly onto his wrist that he swears you must have somehow typed it

when he was little he was always worried and self-conscious about his handwriting because his teachers kept trying to “correct” it

his best friend (mingyu) was always like nOooO YOU can be a doctor with that handwriting!!!! it’s a known fact that doctors have the worst handwriting

and wonwoo’s like k,,,,,,for once you actually said the right thing at the right time congrats

but wonwoo still feels bad because he knOWs his handwriting is bad so he knows that his soulmate’s gonna have a hard time deciphering it

mingyu lowkey makes it his job to find anyone with the name on wonwoo’s wrist (yours!!!)

first year university is busy so neither of them really have the time to try and find you and you don’t either

so when second year comes mingyu’s like “hey wonwoo remember in fourth grade when i promised to help you find your soulmate. yeah i’m gonna start again”

you’re actually friends with chinaline (aka xu minghao and wen junhui)

you told them about how you didn’t know the name of your soulmate because you couldn’t find it

but they were like lmao you definitely have one their handwriting just sucks

so apparently that weirdly shaped thing you thought was a birthmark was actually the name of your soulmate

the three of you spent hours trying to figure it out lmao you felt like an idiot sitting in the library holding your left arm out with two of your friends squished next to you staring intently at it

you arm was sore for the next few days from being stretched out for such a long time

but on the bright side!!!!!!!!!!you actually deciphered parts of the name (maybe, maybe not)

minghao and jun suggested that their last name could be 권 (kwon) ((my friend says that if the handwriting is rEAllY bad then jeon mIght be confused with kwon so i’m gonna go with that,,,,,,,,,,))

but like you guys aren’t 100% sure because the handwriting is just,,,,,,,,,so messy

(jun and minghao even asked their friends from the dance team aka the other 1/2 of performance team for help but not even they could help much) ((soonyoung even joked about it being him if the last name was kwon but minghao gave him the Look™))

soonyoung also joked that you should probably start wearing a shirt that has your name on it so that your soulmate will be able to find you easier but minghao was like don’t. don’t do that. that’s a BAD IDEA. and soonyoung was just like wHY are all my ideas being SHOT DOWN

tbh though rather than actually finding your soulmate you really want to find the person whose handwriting is so bad that none of your friends could decipher it

and wonwoo really wants to find you to apologize for his terrible handwriting,,,,,,,,more times than he could count he’s had teachers and friends asking him for confirmation on certain characters

and it’s not that he’s not neat, he just has too many ideas to write down to actually take time and make it eligible (as long as he can read it, it’s fine right?)

mingyu and dokyeom have talked to him a few times about making his handwriting neater so that his soulmate can actually read his name

he tried to (but then decided that if it’s meant to be, it’ll happen)

and it seems like all hope is lost until!!!!!!!!!!! mingyu literally slams into him one day screaming something about seungcheol saying something about a kid named jihoon who was in one of his classes who knows a kid named soonyoung who happens to know someone (or someones) who happen to be bffs with a person with the name of his soulmate

long story short mingyu found you

and even better apparently mingyu managed to get seungcheol to ask jihoon to tell soonyoung to tell your friends to get you to the fountain in the center of the campus at noon

if minghao and jun are 100% honest with you though,,,,,they lowkey didn’t want to take you because the entire plan just smells sketchy,,,,,,,

they agreed only because 1: it was at noon and 2: they could stay with you

and you guys get there a little bit early so you just sit there drinking coffee,,,

and wonwoo’s running late because mingyu decided to last minute ask seungcheol to ask jihoon to ask soonyoung what the plan was

everything turned out well though they ended up just barely ten minutes late

and tbh wonwoo saw you and went wow,,,,,,an ANGEL,,,, and he felt all fuzzy inside

and honestly he thought that you were just a friend of his soulmate there to tell him that his soulmate didn't want to meet him or something because???? how could you be the soulmate of someone like him

and you saw him and thought the exact same thing like HOW do i get a soulmate like that that’s impossible

but then mingyu went like “this is your soulmate!!!” and it finally sunk in for both of you like okay,,,,,i don’t know what i did in my past life but thank you,,,,,

minghao and jun leave when they notice you and wonwoo kinda in your own world

you hold up your arm and ask him if his handwriting is that bad and he’s like unfortunately,,,,,,,,,,,,,yes,,,,,,,,,i’m sorry,,,,,,,,,,,,

IT’S OKAY THOUGH because he invites you to go to a bookstore/cafe and it’s cute because you get to watch him get super excited when you ask him for book suggestions

as a significant other he probably prefers to sit on the couch reading a book with you but if you wanted to go to an amusement park he wouldn’t complain

book recommendations every week!!! and he probably acts super offended if you don’t finish that book during the week

he once gave you a list of 20 books that he liked the most and you were like wonwoo i love you but THIS IS SO MUCH

probably takes pictures of you sleeping cause he thinks you’re the cutest person alive ever but doesn't set it as his lockscreen cause he doesn't want anyone to see

probably has a folder dedicated to pictures of you sleeping

he doesn’t tell you he loves you often

like i sincerely believe that he prefers to show his affection

and in the smallest, cutest ways too

he probably puts all your misplaced things back in their places

like if you left your keys on your bedside table he’d probably move it back to the little bowl next to the door so that you don’t start freaking out right before you leave

he prefers to listen over talking so normally he sits on the couch listening to you talk about your day

and he’ll give you legit advice

like it sounds harsh at first but it works?????

“mingyu put all the cups on the top shelf today, so i had to use a stool”

(it works trust me)

he likes to joke a lot too so if you play along he’ll love you for the rest of his life (he already does but it doESn’t hUrt for some more love)
