As you hit the “tweet now” button, you wait for the floodgates of questions and shocked replies to fill your notification bar. A chuckle escaped your lips as you twirled the letter by holding its ribbon.

You knew they were hungry for your reply. You could technically smell the desperation and eagerness of the people following you both, and you were glad to see that your instincts were right because after a few moments the comments on your last post had filled up with people oogling and frothing at the mouth.

“ALHAITHAM!?”

“THAT’S ALHAITHAM’S SIGNATURE!”

“So it’s true that Alhaitham sent her a letter!? HOW ROMANTIC!”

"I never thought that cold hearted model would like someone like her."

You let out a melodic laugh in response to their shocked reactions. You shake your head, your mind still hazy and your heart still pounding in your chest.

It’s been forty minutes since Alhaitham dropped you off your dorm and Hu Tao was there to greet you. She didn’t pry when she saw how your face was practically a shade darker with how flushed it was or how you were practically bouncing as you walked towards the mail box.

As soon as you arrived, you dove into the pile of letters on your desk. Most of them were from universities around Teyvat, but your eyes were locked on finding one.

Alhaitham’s letter.

“Aha!” You exclaimed as you found the elegantly wrapped letter. It even has a seal on it! He didn’t have to be so extra with it, but it made your heart swell. As a fan of love letters, his thoughtfulness and careful planning made it obvious that he valued this particular letter and your hands were itching to read it.

But you reminded yourself to remain calm. Carefully peeling off the seal and unraveling the ribbon that tied the envelope, you read his letter with a bated breath.

Dear [Name],

I am ashamed to write this letter for a reason which may come as a surprise to you. Before you begin to assume that I wrote this letter because I felt the need to write back to you after the one you gave me, I would gladly say it is not as I have already given you my reply to that particular letter. For this letter… I have written on my own accord to inform you of my intentions.

Truthfully, I do not know how to write a proper love letter. As you can see, my words are rather… stiff and too formal, is it not? I tried following your videos to see if it could help soften my tone when writing to you, but as you can see it hasn’t and you may have to deal with this hahaha.

I have written too much already. So I’ll make this quick.

[Name], admittingly I read your letter and replied to it without giving it a proper thought and I am well aware that I have hurt you unintentionally. Back then, I know you. But now that I have gotten a glimpse of you back at the show last spring, in the spirit of “first love’s” and whatnot, I decided to give you and I a decent shot.

I asked myself, “what am I afraid of trying?” I know that love isn’t my strongest pursuit, but with you, if you allow, I may understand myself a bit further and I may learn to give you that kind of love which you yearn from me.

Though I have to warn you… with the way that I am, whatever relationship we may create may be short lasting. However short lasting it may be though, rest assured that it will be worth your time. So please… I hope you consider this.

May I court you, [Name]? I would like to get to know you better.

P.s. Do you like my letter? I re-wrote this three times and asked Kaveh to help me. I hope you don’t mind that he knew of its content first before you. Also… I realized after writing this letter that I do not despise writing love letters. I simply did not have a chance to write one. I find that it’s my favorite way of correspondence. I do not mind receiving more of it, especially if it’s from you.

The edges of the paper have began to fray a little as your clammy hand held it as you read through its contents over and over again. You weren’t sure if you’d be able to sleep after this.

But one thing’s for sure is that Alhaitham has a way with words. Though he may seem too formal and stiff to your liking, there is beauty and eloquence beneath it that draws you in and makes your heart flutter.

You resigned to your doomed fate as you dramatically sigh and laid down on the couch. You were sure that the feelings you’ve long buried for Alhaitham have resurfaced once again.

EXCUSING yourself from the seats lined up in the front, you ducked as much as you can so you can leave the place quiet without disturbing any further the ones focusing beside you. Yanfei looks at you with a slightly raised eyebrow and you mouth, “Restroom.”

It took a lot of effort to get through the sea of people watching and once you finally got through it, you rushed to the women’s room. Thankfully there was no line as everyone was too preoccupied with the show to go relieve themselves. Chiori’s outfits was captivating, so much so that no one can take their eyes off them.

The theme of “First Love” being tied with spring is a genius marketing strategy, you think. As you make a curved turn right at the corner of the women’s comfort room, you thought loudly, “Who’s going to be the last model?”

You thoughts were interrupted when you collide with a soft, but firm chest of a guest. You let out a soft gasp as you lost your footing. He grabs your arm and steadies you with ease. You were thankful for his help or else you’d be on the floor.

“A-ah! Thank you for-”

“[Name?]” The man said. You looked up only to be met with soft eyes that shined like rubies in the night. Your lips parted ever so slightly. Though you were shocked, nothing compared to the surprise on the gentlemen’s face.

“Yes? I’m [name]. Have we met before?”

“Ah, no. I just know you from somewhere. You’re a student from Sumeru Akademiya, right?”

“Oh! How’d you know? Are you also a student?”

“Yeah. I’m Cyno. Spantamad student. ” he laughs a little. There was a slight tinge of awkwardness there but you brushed it off as nerves rather than something else. His warm laughter fills your ear like honey. You can’t help but smile; glad to hear that someone from the same school as you was invited to the show.

“Nice to meet you, Cyno! Say, are you here with someone?” You asked. He grows silent.

“A-ah you could say that. I’m here to support a friend.” He said meekly.

“Oh! So your friend’s a model?” You smile widely. Maybe that friend of his already walked the runway. He nods.

“How about you?” Cyno asks.

“Oh, I’m with friends. Maybe you’ve met them? They go to the Akademiya, too. Yanfei from Vahumana, Hu Tao from Haravatat, and Dunyarzad from [darshan name] like me.” You smile.

Cyno does a double take at what you said. Your gaze flitted side to side with the peculiar reaction he gave. Have you said something wrong?

“D-dunyarzad? Dunyarzad Homayani?” He stutters.

“Yeah… do you know her?” She asks.

“N-nothing! I just think I’ve heard her name somewhere.” By now, the obvious sign of anxiety was plastered all over Cyno’s face and body language. The way his hand trembles and the way the small beads of sweat began to form on his forehead gave it away for you.

“I see. Well, I shouldn’t keep you waiting,” you notice how his eyes were wandering around. “If you’ll excuse me. I have to use the bathroom. I don’t want to miss any more from the show.”

Cyno looks behind him to see the women’s bathroom sign and he lets out a small sound and laughs. He gestures for you to go in. “Go ahead. It was nice meeting you.”

You hadn’t even replied yet and he’s off sprinting back to the venue. You tilt your head in confusion.

ONCE you turned the knob of the door that leads you to the living room, you half-expected to deal with the questions your other friends had for you. Locking yourself in the bathroom for five hours is not normal per se, but it was much needed for your sanity.

You’re surprised by the lack of your other friends’ presence. To give you and Kaveh some space to reconcile, they’ve stealthily hidden themselves behind a large china cabinet. You noticed them either way. If Kaveh noticed their presence too, he didn’t make it obvious that he did.

Kaveh stood in the middle of the room with a tight-lipped expression and guilty eyes that one would think he did something more horrible than just sending out a letter that wasn’t supposed to be sent. You narrowed your eyes at him. He winces.

Proud as you were, you knew Kaveh didn’t do anything wrong. He had only followed the instruction you have given him in the first place. Maybe your stubbornness looked for excuses to rationalize your own fault so Kaveh who had done the unthinkable got your rage.

When you see his guilty state, you sighed and walked towards.

“Ten minutes. Let’s talk this out.” You said in a weak voice.

Kaveh looked like a wilted flower. At the sound of your voice, he perks up just fine. He had been blaming himself for being reckless. As anyone who knew him would comment on that particular trait. He didn’t want you to hate him for this.

“Hey, I’m sorry, [name.]” He starts. You shake your head.

“What do you mean? I should be the one saying sorry. Between the two of us, it was my fault.”

“I mailed the letter.”

“I told you to mail them, though. You didn’t know which one is which so it was my fault,” you walked closer to him. “For that… I’m sorry. Don’t work yourself up too much.”

In an attempt to console him of the guilt he has, you pat his shoulder and give him a smile. He hesitantly smiled back.

“Also, if you think I’m mad because you were the one who sent the letter, you’re wrong. I’m mad at myself.” You laugh.

“So, this is settled now? Are we friends again?” Kaveh asked.

“It depends on the contents of that letter.” You used your lips to point at the letter on his hand, hanging at his side. He looks at it and raises it.

“It’s from Alhaitham.”

“I know.”

“You may not like the contents.”

“I know.”

“You still want to read it?” He confirms for the third time. You grab it from his hand and nods. Kaveh sucks in a sharp breath and waits.

You opened the letter and scanned the contents of the letter. The more you read the letter, the more your vision began to blur and the whirlwind of emotions began to suffocate you. You feel your heart breaking with each line coming from Alhaitham. You already expected this kind of reply. But it still hurt deep inside. To stop you from reading it, Kaveh covers your vision of the letter with his hand.

“That’s enough,” he said softly.

“I guess we’re not friends anymore, Kaveh.” You laugh jokingly through streams of tears. “I need a moment.”

“S-sure.” He watches you as you walk towards the other end of your dorm. You weakly throw Alhaitham’s letter away before sitting out on the small hanging balcony. Out of curiosity, Kaveh walked towards the bin and reads your letter. He notices the original letter he sent to Alhaitham.

Dear [Name],

I hope this letter finds you in good health. To begin with, I did not expect to receive such a letter on such short notice. I have read the contents of your letter thoroughly, and I have contemplated what to write back to you in correspondence.

I must admit I am flustered by your words of praises, Ms. [Name]. However, I would like to apologize for being a bearer of bad news.

Though I appreciate your enthusiasm and 'profound love for me,' I regret to inform you that I cannot return those feelings.

My feelings are reserved only for the one who makes my heart beat with fervor. I’m afraid someone already has the right to those feelings.

Enclosed with this reply is your letter. It may be best for me to return it to you. If we ever pass by each other or whether or not you approach me some other time, I shall treat you as though I know nothing so we may start anew.

I hope I didn’t ruin this day any further for you. For all that it’s worth, happy valentine’s day. Have a nice day.

Kaveh sighs and reaches the letter on the trash bin. He didn’t know what to do with it but something in him is saying that this will be needed someday. Maybe he’ll keep it safe until then. Maybe [Name] will need it someday.

ARTEM WING - the one and only stellis's ace and youngest senior attorney. though he's focused on his career and winning cases, due to his immense popularity in both the country and online, he has built a social following. to be honest, he doesn't have a clue on how to act online. he mainly tweets and posts whatever he likes. extremely awkward. helpless (help this mf pls!). always is the butt of the joke when it comes to romance. serious buff office guy. addicted to coffee. tweets like an old grandpa. y'know, the types to just tweet what they're doing atm no matter how random it is. probably will post detailed reviews of movies he's watched (ofc, he acts as if he's not a well know movie creator with his other persona). DRIVES AN SUV AND A RACE CAR! filthy rich. filthy powerful too.

ROSA - probably artem's most trusted person. as his colleague and partner, they've developed a relationship that's akin to both friends, colleagues and lovers. whichever you prefer. even nixx men are confused whether or not artem likes her or not. spoiler: she has a thing for luke. she's responsible for telling celestine everything that's happening in the case. always the person who seems to make artem more popular to the girls. rumored girlfriend of artem. loves anything plushie! lovers dessert too. has a thing for violins. always the one who'll out him. treats the nixx team like they're her kids. acts like their mom too! mediator of the group when shit goes down in the nixx gc.

LUKE PEARCE - everybody knows that he's scared of artem. not really scared, but more of he's seen artem seething with fury and he's vowed not to be the one receiving it. tends to tease artem together with rosa. butt of the joke most of the time. prefers to focus on bright side of things. he's a literal sunshine! he makes sure everyone is healthy and safe. quick and smart too. he's like the dad of the group.

VYN RICHTER - he probably gets into fights with artem frequently, with marius fuelling the fight 95% of the time. he's usually the one that acts too cool for artem, usually using his two degrees to make artem shut up in an argument. loves perfume. he's the resident therapist of the group and usually he's the one they run to for romantic advice. he wondes why when he's single and has never even dated anyone. emotionally reserved. has an air of sophistication around him. 100% can read artem, though. they often think of the same thing and get each other through visual or verbal cues. he is closest with his sister, y/n. regularly keeps tabs on her for her safety.

MARIUS VON HAGEN - causes most inconvenience in the group chat, with his butler vincent cleaning up after his mess most of the time. he loves to annoy people in the gc. definitely loves to play the "younger brother" card. the crackhead of the group. 100% lost in between conversation. usually the one who's first to hear news of this and that. most fashionable member. even if he's by the far the not-so-favorite team member, they appreciate him for being a big help during nixx cases. he enjoys posting online whenever they get together. he's usually the loud one in the gc.
