I should probably stay quiet til I actually see Violetpaw and Twigpaw interact with Hawkwing and the rest of SkyClan and how them being SkyClan affects how they're percieved... but tbh? I kiiinda wish Violet and Twig really were just the children of a loner that died. Because part of their story in Thunder and Shadow at least is how the two of them are dehumanized and trivialized just for not being clanborn. The leaders think it's okay to separate them and don't even consider the idea that it could happen to their own kits. Twigpaw gets regarded as a useless extra mouth to feed in ThunderClan and Violetpaw is pushed to stress herself to the limit and eat last for the bare minimum of kindness, and she doesn't even get that most of the time... and the cats go "well they're not clanborn." as an excuse.

So like... the reveal that "oh they are clanborn actually lol" gives me the vibe of "wow the clans are sooo shortsighted that they treated one of their own as some filthy outsider like Darktail!" and not "Hey maybe it's fucked up that the clans dehumanize non clan cats so much that they think it's ok to treat children that way for the crime of being born."
