going to a Murder By Death live show is always so fucking funny. adam will step up to the mic and be like "this next song... is super depressing" and the audience will all hoot and holler and jump up and down excitedly. this will happen no less than ten times over the course of the evening.

#and the thing is. like. it's not that the people in the crowd don't appreciate the emotional depth of the music #like... there's a certain other depressing musician with a rabid following whom i shan't name.#whose young fans love to turn their depressing songs born of deep personal turmoil into weird and tasteless memes. not so with MBD #i saw grown men shedding genuine tears in that pit #and i saw the same grown men go WOO!!!
