the ff7 ship war people are properly properly insane about it and it's really annoying that it makes the shipping side of fandom so much less fun than it could be but i also think it's such a bummer for those people that their experience of the story is so tainted by trying to view every scene through the lens of how it Proves Them Right instead of like. earnestly engaging with the characters and story
