Saw an interesting post by @snaxle lately but didn't want to add my crap to it and spoil the post or w/e but it did get me thinking.
It's really sad that it's seen as 'controversial' to speak up about misandry especially when it leads to transphobia because people think you're saying 'women oppress men' and that's... not it at all? Anyone can say this stuff, including men themselves? Anyone can accidentally pick up TERF ideology?
'It's bigotry to hate on a whole group for something like their gender' is not pointing the finger at anyone else in particular and calling them an oppressor. It's stating a fact that we all should know is true, but inviting you to understand that this includes men. Yes, even completely nonqueer* men!
And as Snaxle points out, you are being invited to understand the radfem/TERF ideology you are spouting, supporting and encouraging when you make and share posts hating on a whole ass gender as if the thousands of people the word 'men' covers (including some people who are also women) are all exactly the same.
As if being born with a penis, or identifying with the gender of those who usually are, changes your entire personality and morality into a singular hivemind wherein you must adhere to violent, abusive, unhygienic, rude and emotionless behaviour expected of every man. These traits of course, being impossible to have if you're not a man. /sarc
It's easy to understand!
You start saying you hate all men and you justify it to yourself based on crime statistics or personal trauma. You convince yourself even if you don't say it/subconsciously that men basically aren't people. Not like women are people, anyway. It often includes ignoring intersectionality and that what you actually hate is Patriarchy as a system of control and oppression of anyone who doesn't fit the surprisingly narrow scope of 'acceptable' which also includes an awful lot of men.
You may make an exception for trans men/masc people, but only if we don't preform masculinity too well or you may include us to 'validate' our gender.
Excluding trans men/masc people often comes with reasoning that infantilises us or acts like our AFAB status makes us simply too pure to do wrong (not like Real I mean cishet men!).
Including trans men/masc people often leads to ignoring that we can be targets of unique antitransmasc hate and even misogyny in favour of the illogical hatred against our gender.
Both options are supported by TERFs to either enact hatred onto us or speak of us as though we're just confused little girls.
Sometimes this form of misandry also includes acting like being attracted to men is either wrong or 'unfortunate' including when men love other men.
Forever you skirt the boundaries of 'just' hating men 'of privilege' to hating anyone who has or was born with a penis regardless of current gender because a lot of the people who agree and support your generalized view on men and how awful we are inherently do not make a distinction between man and trans woman and will argue that it is in fact the biology that makes 'men' gross and violent.
Suddenly womanhood is on this incredibly high and unstable pedestal where 'safe' means acting a certain way and it's so incredibly easy to be pushed off. Not to mention how disgusting it is to turn your back of womanhood, right? /sarc
At the same time, having an abuser who isn't a man seems like it's impossible so you must be wrong if you think someone who isn't a man and doesn't have a penis is abusing you especially if you are a man yourself.
Thinking men are ok is suddenly a controversial stance to have especially if you're a woman and any man who is being 'allowed' to be viewed as safe does so by strict adherence to an unfair set of ever changing rules oftentimes which includes having to show hatred for the self and other men.
Nobody should be made to feel like an unlovable monster because of their gender and TERFs shouldn't be getting incidental ideology support even a little, even just at the fringes, because you can't think critically.
*I use nonqueer here because some queer men are also cishet e.g. cis arohet/hetace

Well and truly agreed.
No one has to agree with what J K Rowling has been saying.
No one has to like what she has to say. And people should be absolutely free to say that they disagree with or disapprove of what she has been saying.
But that isn't what's been happening.
She's been demonised to a ludicrously overblown degree.
And for why? Quite simply for stating what we've all known throughout human history, up until the past few years.
That biological sex is real and important, that single sex spaces are important.
I remember when she spoke very much in support of the rights of trans people.
But that was before people were expected to pretend to believe that a trans woman is completely the same as a woman.
And come on! We all know that this isn't true.
Yes. A trans woman can share in the social aspects of womanhood.
But she's never going to experience the biological component of living in a female body.
And I don't doubt that completely changing a person's sex would be well night impossible. Because biological sex involves the way that the entire body system operates. Genitalia and secondary sex characteristics are just the tip of the iceberg.
Likewise with a trans man. Yes, he can share the social aspects of manhood, but his bodily reality has more in common with women than men.
These are just facts. It's ridiculous to use them as judgements and to see them as such.
Yes. There are people who think that every trans woman is a danger to women.
But I don't believe that J K Rowling is one of them. I don't think for a moment that she's changed from the way that she's always supported trans rights before.
What she and many of us want to see is a rational approach to same sex spaces.
An acknowledgement that they were created for the dignity and privacy of each sex. And for the safety of women.
I love men. I support the rights of men as much as the rights of women.
But I do know why single sex spaces are important. There are men who will hurt women, often sexually.
Do I think that this means all trans women? NO!!
And I don't think J K Rowling does either. But we did used to have a gatekeeping system regarding transwomen in women's spaces.
Have I ever shared a women's space with a trans woman? i don't know. And actually, that's a good thing. Because, if I have, then these were trans women who used said spaces with respect.
And I'm not concerned about those trans women at all.
But with no gatekeeping whatsoever, including around who can even officially be a trans woman.
This takes away any safety that we had before.
Criminals guilty of sexual crimes can and do claim to be women, to get into women's prisons.
This is MADNESS!!
A minority? Yes. I'm sure it is. But it's a minority that shouldn't be allowed anywhere close to any women.
Let alone women who are made extra vulnerable by being incarcerated.
Another group that's probably a minority as well, but one that also should be getting zero support, are the so called trans women who make laughably little effort to look and sound female, and yet DEMAND with threats of violence to be welcomed into women's spaces.
Let me tell you. Those assholes are doing actual trans women as few favours as they are women.
***********************************************************************
Another wrong in the treatment of J K Rowling is the attitude towards her books.
Don't like the books? Absolutely fine. We all have our own tastes in reading.
Even if you don't want to read the books because you disagree with JK Rowling's views. Also fine, that's your viewpoint.
But what no one has the right to do is to try and erase her as the author of her own works.
To try and stop other people from being free to enjoy the books, merchandise or games.
I STAND WITH J.K. ROWLING!
The woman who is never afraid to talk the truth, even if it brings her terrible repercussions, that was literally at the bottom when se wrote the books that changed generations and made them fall in love with reading, me included, that fights for women's rights, real women's rights, that would rather go to prison than to bend to this modern awful narratives and that inspires millions of women everyday. 💙

As much as "trans inclusionary misogyny" is an amusing tiktok trend and can be funny or wholesome in certain contexts, we should all do more to recognise that there isn't an excuse to just let trans women endure misogyny because "it's gender affirming!". It's still misogyny, and on the whole it's just pretty shit.
#la bit of genuine banter from the bffs is fine yano like i saw a coming out one where her mates were like 'finally... a new sandwich maker!'#like honestly kinda funny and a bit of banter from the gang#but there are some other examples where its like ''so this man is aggressively sexualising me ever since i came out ew lol''#and all the top comments are like 'trans inclusionary misogyny uwu!' rather than like... actual support#like im cis this isnt really my lane but it makes me sad like these women go through the trauma of knowing creepy ass men#and everyone is like 'but isnt it great! he's so inclusive with his uhhhhhh penchant for misogynistic intimidation and violence'#like i guarantee nobody liked that!! like yes its a joke yes its a bit of banter but like...#if i posted that a man had begged for my number and followed me to my car and the top comment was 'at least he's not racist!!' i'd be pissed#like trans women are women?? and also all of our womanhood shouldn't ever include being subjected to misogyny?? at all??#like it might not be that deep but it rubs me the wrong way#I'm no genius but perhaps dismissing womens' experiences of misogyny on the basis that they're trans and should enjoy it... Is bad#its just peak because its liberal feminists that have absorbed this mentality and im sure they just mean well by trying to lighten the mood#like these are the same people that are like my feminism is super inclusive *buzzword* *buzzword* but dont actually treat all women the same#anyway#like feel free to correct me on this or tell me to shut up#but it just... feels like we havent thought about it... much#somfink is not addin upp#like I've probably just taken a really long time to say ''this specific facet of misogyny × transmisogyny = bad'' but hey
