uploading characters on art fight is taking a while because i keep getting distracted by my OC's prognosis after surviving a zombie virus
#like there's no escaping encephalitis once you get the virus because that's just what it does in fiction and in reality (rabies)#encephalitis (which is the inflammation of the brain tissue) causes brain damage#the symptoms of brain damage vary depending on the area(s) affected. of course.#here's the thing. there's barely any research on how rabies affects the brain. thank you article guys for finding a whopping two (2) MRIs#this article is very interesting. they might have found a 3rd MRI of a case that wasn't initially identified as rabies but it could be#anyway it's not surprising that there's little research on it because the disease happens way too fast and doctors have other priorities#and you can make assumptions based on symptoms (which are well documented) and the MRIs#but how much of it is temporary and reversible? that's difficult to tell because the norm is for the patient to die always.#i'm looking more into survivors now so i'll get some answers i think. most of them continued having neurological issues it seems#ask to tag#(i understand many people aren't fond of these topics but i'm not sure how to tag them)#can you believe i'm a drop out because i couldn't even bring myself to glance at my text books?#but when it comes to writing accurate symptoms for my oc or to sate my own curiosity... boy. i've been at this for hours
