Why do you think Tori and the crew that works on dragon ball want to slander Goku? I have my theory’s like Piccolo is Tori’s fav character so we got to slander Goku to make Piccolo look awesome. But what are your theory’s.

if the notion that toyo's main exposure to db was through fanworks like TFS, then i can see it more as a case of mischaracterization because of common fan interpretation and not proper exposure to the original media

even aside from that though, it could just be lazy writing and, again, lack of proper attention towards the original source. if not it could just be trying to shift more positive attention towards ve6eta by making goku look worse than he is while propping up ve6eta when possible
