TW for alcohol and SA and also like, the mortifying ordeal of being known.
As someone who has had their fair share of drunken hook ups and one night stands I've always had complicated feelings about this sort of thing.
Because on one hand, a lot of the time I did want it, I was drunk but not enough to not be able to consent. Being drunk was the only way to relax enough to even enjoy sex tbqh.
None of it was healthy, I regretted like half of it after the fact Lmfao. But in the moment it was consensual.
I've always wondered, like, where is the line that goes from Drunk to Too Drunk to consent. Approximately how many of my mental faculties do I still have relative access to?
Is that something I would've done sober? Probably not. But at the same time I didn't feel the need to stop them, so like, that was basically consent right?
And I would go back and forth on this over and over again, because that was the only way I knew how to function in any sort of relationship.
And then.
There are other times when hours are missing. Just gone. I don't remember what happened. Or it comes back in bits and pieces. That I know without a doubt I would not have sex with them unless MAYBE I was in a particularly bad self destructive spiral and very very sloppy drunk.
But even sloppy drunk you're still cognizant to a degree, and I feel like I could understand when the line of being a willing participant was crossed. Could I actually? Idk. I literally don't remember. Was there intent?
But basically, like, if the intent was there, and it would've been there before getting drunk or getting Too Drunk I would tell myself it was fine, just a mistake.
But whose fault was it? And if the intent wasn't there, and I don't remember intent ever being there when does Not Stopping someone turn into consent, or lack thereof. If you're a passive participant then what does that mean.
I was always trying to figure out my own level of accountability.
But the times when it's just blank? Gone? You don't even remember it? You were not a participant, even passively. It was something that happened to you?
(and then the little gremlin in your head goes "well you could've been okay with it. you are after all a sad, self hating, stupid bitch." )
And I remember a really bad time once. I called my brother crying and he said "God damn it kid, I love you but you've got to stop drinking." He was right, of course. But he also reinforced the idea that I was to blame. And it was my responsibility. That it was some sort of active choice rather than something passive that happened.
And to the point of placing blame, I feel like I always forget to imagine the same thing happening to someone else. From an objective view, what would you think if that wasn't you?
Idk. I forgot what point I was trying to make. But yeah, the way sexual harassment/assault has been treated in this show, (many thoughts) combined with the way substance abuse has been treated,(many thoughts ) it shouldn't have surprised anyone that they WOULD think "nah, it still counts."
I guess, like, what I'm saying is that I think they thought they were trying to portray a self destructive messy hook up, and instead they portrayed a scenario with a very clear lack of consent, and considered them the same thing.
Which is.
Hm.
Interesting that they seem to not understand the difference.

what do u think seans experience in reform school was like?? apparently the punishments were….well.
OH ANON!!!!! YES let's talk about this!!!!
So, a majority of the reform school horror stories that at least I've been hearing over the past few years have been largely been about schools that operated in the 20th century and into the 2010s at the latest, like the Dozier school or Elan. Then obviously there's the rest of the troubled teen industry but that's a more modern thing. Anyway, there's not a whole lot to go on for the late 1800's BUT I did manage to find a website which has a model for reformatory rules and regulations in 1890's Britain, which if nothing else, gives us something to go off in terms of what conditions could be like.
To start with, I think the fact that Sean was sent to reform school instead of other options interesting. Reform school was for delinquents; criminal children. Most likely, this means Sean was involved in criminal activity alongside his father - though, alternatively, it could mean whoever had to deal with Sean in the aftermath of Darragh's death, took one look at him and decided reform school was where he had to go.
Of course, Sean would never make life EASY for the officers and teachers of the school he was sent to. Not only is he there against his will, but those people and that place would, in his mind, all belong to the same entity which orchestrated his father's murder. That boy CAME to school with the intent to escape.
I think, with my HC of him having ADHD and dyslexia in mind, paired with his undoubted lack of respect for whatever authority figures that'd be at the reformatory, Sean would be singled out as a troublemaker from the get. It'd be one of those 'living up to expectations' thing from there, Sean making enemies out of the adults who were supposed to care for him and definitely coming up with ways to make their lives harder.
Sidenote; I definitely believe the little laugh Sean has after remembering his time in reform school was him reminiscing about all the pranks and shit he pulled to harass the workers there lmfao.
Of course, that also means he saw a LOT of the punishments they doled out. On the website they linked above, corporal punishment was VERY much on the agenda and I think Sean def saw the worst of it. I think an important aspect here is the understanding that once these things are seen as acceptable punishments, there's nothing stopping the person doling them out to up the severity of them despite regulations. A flogging shouldn't exceed 18 strokes nor a caning 8; but this offender has had several in the past few weeks and still keeps making trouble, lets add a couple extra just to get the message across.
I think the same goes for the punishments regarding isolation and meal deprivation; you can't tell me a young Sean already doesn't know the feeling of skipping meals out of necessity by the time he arrives at reform school - losing ONE meal as the regulations say with the assuredness of the next would do nothing to dampen Sean's spirits, nor a day in isolation.
Idk, Sean was truly desperate for money/food after 3 days, like that was when he tried to kill someone for it. Personally speaking, I go more than 12 hours without eating and I'd probably try to kill someone too. The 3 days speaks to a familiarity with hunger.
And idk, I definitely think Sean is used to being alone!!! It's why he likes being around people so much!! He grew up with only his father to rely on in the whole wide world, who probably HAD to leave Sean alone for prolonged amounts of time to do what he did as a Fenian & criminal. His scene in RDO also speaks to this; he gets lost and is on his own often!! It's not that he prefers it, but he is definitely used to it, and a day in isolation would probably make 0 difference to him fr!!
So, better up the ante to truly get those punishment across.
These are based on the British regulations for the time, mind! I couldn't find anything similar for the US, and I doubt there'd been a federal standard at the time, so I honestly imagine the punishments were more severe from the get, for Sean. Of course reform schools were supposed to be focused on reform over punishment, but when you're dealing with someone as possibly incessant and unyielding in their misbehavior as I imagine Sean was, punishment WOULD seem like the only option, with the knowledge they had at the time. I think he probably got the worse end of a LOT of it, because he wouldn't capitulate to the will of the reformatory very easily.
I don't think Sean stuck around for very long; around a year at most, I'd think. I also don't think he aged out of it, as the age of majority was 21 and it was more common for reform schools to set them up for some sort of legal work after 'graduating'. So yeah, he ran away, and promptly buried a lot of the bad shit he went through, as he is prone to do.
Thank you for this ask, anon!! I had a lot of fun thinking and reading about this, yall are REALLY indulging me here lolol

5 times you called him by a pet name + one time he called you by a pet name
(Diluc + Zhongli x GN!Reader)
Diluc
1. "Oh, hey hon." You greet mildly.
The candles have begun burning a bit low, the long shadows making his pout even more obvious.
"I apologize, I was held up for longer than anticipated."
He produces a small bouquet from his coat, a cluster of wildflowers, and approaches like he's about to give an offering instead of a gift. He kneels by your chair, face stoic as usual, but you can see the worry and shame in his eyes.
You twirl the stems to absorb their delicate scent, and then carefully drop them in your water glass. You cup his face in your hands, and press a kiss to his brow.
"It's okay." You kiss his brow again, "I am not mad." You kiss his nose. "I am hungry though."
You laugh lightly at his rush to sit across from you. An evening eating cold roast was worth being able to spend it with him.
-
2. "I understand your frustration, but perhaps we had best move on." You place a hand on his crossed arms.
"Their behavior was unacceptable, especially for those who would call themselves knights."
The stubborn clench of his jaw tells you just how angry he is. The idiots were lucky to have only gotten the verbal bludgeoning earlier instead of the literal one he wanted to dish out.
"Yes, but you've already made them apologize, and they do seem repentant," the fool knights in training nod frantically, "so why not leave this mess for Kaeya, darling?"
He sighs, but loosens his posture to wrap a protective arm around you. The hell the Knights were going to catch for this was still to come, but at least no one lost any limbs. Yet.
-
3. Tucked into your pile of pillows, book in hand, you waited as you do most nights. Diluc had a late meeting scheduled after dinner, but he promised it was truly to do with the winery and not of the vigilante variety.
So you bide your time, until you hear his heavy boots come up the stairs.
"I'm home." He calls softly.
"Welcome back." You say just as softly.
He goes through the motions of undressing, refreshing himself, and redressing without missing a beat, but his posture seems wilted. You mark your page, and turn over the blanket for him.
"How did it go?"
He heaves a deep sigh, and crawls over to you. Pulling you close, he lays his head on your chest but doesn't say another word.
"Oh, sweetness." You embrace him, one hand holding his face and the other in his hair. "It's okay. I've got you."
-
4. You lengthen your steps, but the increased pace doesn't seem to deter the boy following you. He isn't dangerous per se, but his persistence is damned annoying.
"But, if you'll just listen," he jogs back up to your side, "I just need your help for a little while!"
"I am neither a Knight nor an Adventurer," you cut him off with a sharp wave of your hand, "And you have nothing I want. Now leave me be."
He sputters, "M-master Diluc said-"
As if he's had his tongue plucked out, he suddenly stops talking.
You turn around only to find Diluc himself, a stifling hand on the kid's shoulder. His face is a stoic mask as always, but his energy is thunderous.
"I agreed to help you out of deference to your mother, but you," You see the boy wince as the hand tightens, "failed to listen to a word I said. Harassing my staff and my partner has only earned you banishment from all of my properties. Now go, before I report you to the Knights as well."
You both stand stock still as the boy sprints from the winery back to Mondstadt proper.
"Your going to report him anyways, right?" You mumble, after he is just a speck on the horizon.
"Of course," He finally relaxes his stance to look at you, "Though I doubt Jean will be happy about it."
Your chuckle, already imagining her face when the letter reaches her desk. Heaving a sigh, just grateful for the problem to have moved on, you grab Diluc's hand.
"Thank you," You pull him into a tight hug, "for protecting me as always, angel."
-
5. You gently rap on the door frame to his office. He looks up from his work just long enough to give you a soft smile.
"I was wondering," You lean against the frame, avoiding actually entering lest you get sucked in as well, "If my dear husband was going to come to bed tonight?"
The bright lamp on his desk means you see his blush even from across the room. He huffs an embarrassed laugh, but starts shuffling paperwork into orderly piles.
"I hadn't realized the time, my apologies."
You hum, "It is understandable. But I cannot rest if you are not in bed with me."
You watch as he tucks away his tools, pulls his gloves off, and undoes the tie in his hair, all with a much to pleased smirk on his face.
He pulls you into a delicate, lingering kiss with a hand on your neck. The warmth of his skin makes you shiver. You lean into him, letting him wrap you in his arms.
He chuckles, "Well, I would hate to neglect my husbandly duties."
+
1. The lingering warmth from your bath and the softness of the sheets has you dozing in minutes. You toss a hand onto Diluc's side of the bed, wanting to be present when he comes to bed as well but the ache of a long day is catching up to you.
After several moments you feel a calloused hand grasp your own. You are too tired to properly see, but feel the dip as he climbs into bed.
Still holding your hand in a delicate grip, he presses a kiss to your palm, and then your cheek.
"Sleep, my love, I am here."
Tumblr media
Zhongli
1. Zhongli re-enters the house not even ten minutes after leaving. He is patting down his jacket and looking about the entryway in wonder, and you can't help but chuckle.
"Forget something?"
"Yes," he plants his hands on his hips, "I can't seem to find my wallet. I could have sworn I remembered it this time."
You get up from where you were leisurely awaiting his return, and snag the 'disappearing' wallet from where he left it on the table.
"Not quite, old man." You wave it, teasing.
"Ah, of course."
Tucking it into the pocket of his jacket, you tug him closer to plant a kiss on his flushed cheek.
"My apologies, it seems I was a bit distracted this morning."
He tucks a piece of hair away from your face, gaze so blatantly loving you can't help but crash your lips against his. Damn whatever appointment he may have, he shouldn't be so handsome in your direction.
-
2. It is not every day you wake up before him, so you try to make the most of it. You prepare his clothes for the day, just so you can pick out your favorite of his shirts. You start a light breakfast, and brew an energizing blend of tea for both of your sake.
You spend some time simply waiting at the table, content to sip your tea and watch the morning birds.
When the soft shuffle of feet brings Zhongli into the kitchen, you stand up. He is mostly dressed, minus his tie and shoes, jacket loose around his shoulders.
You steer him to the table, and press a kiss to his cheek when seated.
He hums contentedly, still a bit sleepy, "Good morning."
You pour him a cup of tea as well, and his smile grows a bit wider. He tilts his head up, "Thank you."
You meet him half way, pressing a firm kiss to his mouth, "Of course dearest. Do you have anything pressing today?"
A hand comes to rest on your hip, preventing you from moving back to your seat.
"No, nothing more important than this."
-
3. Squished between the mattress and the press of his body, you couldn't imagine being more content. The warmth, the scent, the feel of his breath ghosting across your skin.
You run a reverent hand through his hair, spread loose over his back. It seems impossible for you to be this happy, like you would only read about in unrealistic fantasies.
Amber eyes are already watching you, when you open yours. His gaze is soft, unbearably so, so you look at the ceiling.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
He answers it so easily, as if it is among the many universal truths that exist in his head.
"You must understand," You wet your nervous mouth, "I mean it. Truly, I love you."
You feel his head tilt in confusion, but power on, emotions spilling.
"You are my starlight. My life would be unimaginably dark without you. I am scared constantly by the sway you have over me, but I cannot stand the idea of living without you. I want be here with you, forever, no matter the cost."
You squeeze your eyes shut against the flood of tears that threaten to spill, waiting for his polite retreat. His body lifts off yours and you pull a shuddering breath in, unused to laying yourself bare in this way. He could end you now, destroy you by just walking away.
But you feel tremoring hands grasp your face, almost too tightly. He doesn't say a word, can't, but presses his forehead to yours.
-
4. "Zhongli?" You call into the empty hum of the parlor, hoping it will carry to his office. It's not far, but he gets absorbed in his work easily.
You lean out the door a bit, and try to project your voice more, "Hey, honey?"
The door to his office clicks open, and his head pokes out. "Do you need assistance?"
"Yes, please," you adjust the pile of books in your arms, "Would you mind grabbing this other pile? A client requested reference material from just about every era, and I don't think I have the wing span to carry all of it."
He presses a quick kiss to your head, and scoops up the remaining books with no problem.
"Of course, would you like me to relieve you of those as well?"
"Not a chance, show off, you're gonna have to deal with the doors."
As if to prove your point, he balances the stack in one hand to hold the front door open for you, smile only slightly smug.
-
5. Given how busy your lives were, and his propensity for letting time fly, you figured he would forget again. It would not be the first anniversary he forgot, and you imagine it wouldn't be the last.
It's not like you could hold it against him, especially not when he was so earnest and loving all year round.
So your surprise was genuine when he led you, dressed in his best, to a private booth at Liuli Pavilion.
The food was made by the head chef, as a show of gratitude for Zhongli's long patronage (you send a quiet thank you to Childe), and the service superb. The evening is relatively quiet, you converse as normal but with the additional soppiness that comes from acknowledging romance.
You are especially glad for the privacy when you cannot help but practically ravish the man over the table, his face being too handsome to bear just looking at.
Shortly after, he looks at you with burning eyes, and finally says, "I am quite full. Perhaps we should head home."
"That sounds perfect."
You continue to stare, sappy and sated, as he blindly pats at his pockets, equally unwilling to look away.
After several moments, it dawns on you, and then immediately on him.
You can't help it. You laugh. Hysterically, because no matter what Zhongli is Zhongli.
He's standing now, flustered like you've never seen, pacing the room as if his wallet would be anywhere but the table at home.
"This was not my intent." He huffs, "I had planned the evening meticulously."
"And it was lovely," You choke back another laugh, "But, sugar, you are not living this down for the rest of our lives!"
You are laughing as you pull out your own wallet, giggling uncontrollably as you hand over all the money on your person, and can barely walk you're so light headed when he leads you out the door.
He doesn't once let you go, from the pavilion's steps to your front door. Indulgent to the end, your man.
+
1. It is always a pleasant surprise when your errands overlap. Working nearly in conjunction makes it happen quite often, but still, it makes your day brighter.
You have just finishing bartering your lunch into existence when you spot Zhongli headed your way. Quickly, you slip the chef a few more mora to add another dish.
He is at your side in an instant, bringing your hand to his lips in that coquettish way he has.
"There you are," he lowers your hand but does not drop it, "I've been looking for you, treasure."
You twine your fingers together, relishing the warmth. You snug up to his side, taking the liberty of placing his hand on your hip just to see him blush.
"Have you now?"
"Always."

Okay, here's the thing, you're not "pointing out the facts", you're stating your own personal biases and what you wanted to happen, and passing it off as facts. There's a difference.
Over the course of this show, there was never a time where Stiles was ever stated to be bisexual. People turning to those moments when Stiles was harassing Danny ("Am I attractive to gay men?"), and that time at the rave in Derek's loft when he was flirting with Caitlin and she asked if he was into guys. I shouldn't have to say why the former is so offensive, and the latter only proved to show that Stiles never thought about it before. I remember Dylan O'Brien saying after that episode that Caitlin's question made Stilws think, but that in the end, Stiles as straight. Now, granted, that's just the actor who plays the part, so if you want to view Stiles as bisexual, more power to you, but I don't at all agree that Stiles was closeted because of the company he kept. That's a thinly veiled attempt to foist all the blame off on other characters for why the thing you wanted never happened. Even of you're referring to the company as being MTV, I'm again going to disagree, because we had gay characters that had major roles on the show, and the network has done a lot more for LGBT characters than most networks.
The one thing I will give to Jeff Davis is he created a world where homophobia wasn't an issue. Characters like Danny Mason and Corey and Caitlin and Ethan were allowed to be who they were without fear of any kind of reprisal.
As for Derek's age, it was never definitively stated how old he was. At best, we got the line from the first episode that said the Hale fire happened six years ago, but it's never stated (to my knowledge) how old Derek was when it happened. He could have been sixteen, he could have been eighteen. We simply don't know. But let's just say, for arguments sake, that it was only six years. That would make Derek twenty-two to Stiles' sixteen. We all know damn well that if Stiles had been a girl, then absolutely no one would think it was okay for a sixteen-year-old to he dating a guy who was twenty-two. Was it it suddenly okay when it's two guys? Aside from the fact that it's a horrible stereotype that has been prevalent for years that creates a stigma around mlm that's hard to get rid of.
And lastly, regarding the "chemistry" between the characters, they all have chemistry. Chemistry reads are a part of the casting process, to make sure actors get along and are believable, but in the context of what you're saying, it doesn't apply. The fan-service, that being scenes like the pool scene or the sheriff station, only happened because fans saw what they wanted to see and blew it out of proportion. Derek overwhelmingly had more screentime with Scott in the first season, with only a handful of scenes happening where Derek and Stiles were alone (none of those interactions pleasant). I mean, if we wanted to focus on that, Danny had an actual interest in Derek, but somehow the actual gay character is ignored in favor of Stiles. The only reason we had fan-service scenes was because fans demanded that they be catered to (see Stydia in the final seasons).
Like I've already said, it's one thing to have a crack ship (hell, I have several), but it's another entirely to outright ignore the canon LGBT characters to focus entirely on said crack ship. The fact that St*r*k was the most popular ship in the fandom just goes to show that so many of the people in this fandom don't actually care about representation for gay characters (as they claim) and instead just want to watch two guys get it on.
I'll say it again, if you want to view Stiles as bisexual, I fully support that. I personally view Scott as bisexual. But just because you've decided a character is now gay or bisexual doesn't meant that we get to sleep on the characters that actually are in canon. That's where the representation is, and when people don't support those characters, that's when networks decide that they don't need them.
The only valid gay teen wolf ships are Danny/Ethan and corey/Mason but no one likes those CANON ships because they both have moc and god forbid moc's can be gay
Forgive my paranoia, but the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this was
Tumblr media
For the record, I'm not here to gatekeep when it comes to shipping. I will never tell someone that they should just be satisfied with the single gay character/relationship that we usually get out of television shows, because we can always use more representation.
The problem isn't that these fans have a crack ship, its the fact that they prioritize this crack ship over the actual representation that we get. It's the fact that Danny was introduced by the second episode of the series as an out gay character and he was almost completely overlooked in favor of a white boy who never showed any interest in guys. In fact, Stiles was obsessed with Lydia, but that's completely ignored so that fans can claim he's bisexual and ship him with a man ten years older than him who had a pointed interest in Scott and who threatened to kill Stiles.
And then once Danny was unceremoniously booted from the show, we were introduced to Mason, who is basically the fandom version of Stiles, and who even had a crush on a hot werewolf (Brett) who happened to be bisexual.
What do we hear from the fandom demanding diversity and representation? Absolutely nothing.
This is a fandom that demands these crack ships be made canon for the sake of representation, but almost completely ignore the canon gay characters, who had (depending on your perspective) sweet and loving relationships with their boyfriends. But yet, for some reason, St*r*k a d Th*am are the big ships, focusing on the violent straight characters while ignoring the actual gays.
I mean, even if you wanted a crack ship, Scott and Isaac had a much more stable foundation for that to happen, with the actors, or at least Posey, all for it to become canon.
