This is probably an unpopular opinion, and y’all know I love Jonerys with all my heart, but...

I usually don’t like Modern AU jonerys fics unless it’s like, where they’re both really damaged. Because the entire thing that makes JonxDany epic and beautiful is the grandness of it and their journeys leading to each other and offering healing and renewing the hope in each other. Without that... it just doesn’t do it for me.

Like, if we’re looking at a coffee shop or high school or any modern AU where each of them hasn’t suffered tremendously... then honestly I’d prefer a RobbxDany pairing

#like modern jonerys just doesn't seem plausible to me #because I just don't think a dany who hasn't been what she's been through would ever go for the broody jon #and I can't see jon as anything other than the moody broody dark hipster that he would be regardless of context #and a dark hipster jon if it doesn't have a tragic reason is just pretentious #and that is NOT dany's type at all #and she likes confidence but needs it grounded in humility or gentleness #but like I feel like a modern Dany who hasn't lost everyone and been raped and sold etc. would be the happy positive funny spunky girl #that we get glimpses of in the books and shows in slower or safer times when she can forget her troubles/trauma/responsibility for a bit #and that dany I just think would gravitate towards robb #and they're both too pretty to not be attracted to each other #and brave and carefree enough to go for it #caitlyn rants #in an attempt to justify my current writing of a robbxdany modern au #after reading jonerys modern aus and wanting her to spend more time with robb instead #because broody jon isn't fun or romantic when not in a fantasy setting #but maybe that's just me #but hopefully it's not?#because I'd really love to find some robbxdany fics #especially ones where it's not just temporary and used to set up jonerys later #because those usually paint robb as a dick and idk what book y'all read but my boy was a sweetheart #a product of his society and upbringing definitely #but point out a moment that he was ever malicious or intentionally cruel #i'll wait #so yeah he and dany would either be bffs or bf/gf in modern au and you can't change my mind
