help I just remembered how wwx said “how dare you judge lan zhan just because he’s not very expressive! he doesn’t think he’s better than anyone!” to the face of the man who was once told by lwj “you are not qualified to speak to me’ peak comedy

#even better if the show had recognized the irony and leaned into it #like. I love lwj but he is ABSOLUTELY a judgemental person. I think he's usually RIGHT #like lwj doesn't participate in egotistical grandstanding but he does judge people for not doing the right thing #and he definitely thinks there are people below him. it's just. based on actions and not reputation or income lvl #or heredity the way other cultivators judge ppl #but um. that was an insane scene for that.#O feel bad for su she I really do. betrayed the lans by not agreeing to die in defense of them #*I #and then attached himself to another lowborn cultivator bc he didn't treat him like shit #and used what he knew to found his own sect #like that entire conflict feels very manufactured bc the narration wants you to be on the lan clan's side #and I'm not? I think su she should get cut a break actually #overall I think some aspects of the lan sect and lan characters are very strong #(the setting the concept of the rules and the headband lxc)#and some are quite weak (the su she conflict lsz and the idea that they're always the good guys)#lwj kind of falls in the middle due to some things I find unsatisfying about his writing but I'm biased so I like him #cql txp
