it is genuinely hilarious how many serious and even potentially life threatening issues my gastroenterologist actually running basic labs keeps finding when my gp in iowa literally told me ‘it doesn’t really matter what you have, you can just take tums for it’

#like lmao she was like 'just take otc meds for any of your other symptoms too'#anyways i did NOT think what i just got diagnosed with was a possibility #i was gonna not do the ordered stool samples cuz what she's checking for there also seems unlikely into impossible territory #(and cuz i do not wanna do em)#but now im like... ok what else are u gonna find bc i really emphatically did not think i had like fully half of the new diagnoses u gave me #so i guess i gotta do it after all cuz im apparently a terrible judge of this shit #no pun intended #updates on my boring life #two ppl i know just got this diagnosis and they are having horrifying pain and i'm like. my pain is not bad enough there's no way
