love that everyone in the UK is waking up to the reality of rubber bullets (which contrary to the name are highly dangerous and potentially fatal) but I'm really rolling my eyes at the pearl-clutching because people act like this is the first time they've ever heard of them when rubber bullets have been used in Ireland for decades. the amount of ignorance over police brutality in the UK honestly astounds me.

and it's ESPECIALLY annoying to see Brits getting all righteous about how their police aren't that bad when the police have been committing atrocities on what is (regrettably) UK soil all through their lifetimes and probably all through the lifetimes of their parents and grandparents too. and oh yeah, all that "our police don't carry guns!" bullshit? in Ireland they do.
