CORSAIR Crystal Series 680X RGB Tempered Glass PC Case Review
The new CORSAIR Crystal Series 680X RGB is a dual-chamber tempered glass ATX case available in both white and black colors. With room for up to eight fans and four radiators, including one 360mm, superb airflow and brilliant RGB lighting from three LL120 RGB fans all being controlled by the included CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO and powered by iCUE software. Show off a stunning view of your PC’s components with three tempered glass panels on the front, roof, and hinged side door, while an optional vertical GPU mount allows you to put your graphics card center stage. Packaged in a standard brown cardboard box is the Corsair Crystal 680X RGB. You kind of get a feel of what the case looks like, but you do get much more detail of what the inside of the case looks like with a very detailed exploded view. Once taken out of the box and its styrofoam cocoon you will find that the Corsair Crystal 680X RGB has yet another form of protection with a cloth bag over the case. You also get quick access to the case manual and a screen with magnets on it. We will figure out where that goes later. A small, yet effective, a piece of foam is placed at the top of the case between the glass front panel and the bezel. This is done for the reason that the top right portion of the glass is not directly attached to the case. Our First full look a the 680X RGB, striking yet basic styling. With an almost pure white color and smoke tinted glass pieces, you can be sure that the Corsair Crystal 680X will stand out in any room, even when the lights are off.
Corsair has this to say about the Crystal 680X case. Equip your PC with outstanding high airflow cooling, with four fans and a Direct Airflow Path layout delivering massive airflow to your PC’s hottest components Illuminate your system with three included LL120 RGB fans, boasting a total of 48 customizable RGB LEDs An included CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO turns the 680X RGB into a smart case, powered by CORSAIR iCUE software that brings your system to life with dynamic RGB lighting synchronized across all your iCUE compatible products, including fans, RGB LED light strips, DDR4 memory, keyboards, mice and more Custom builds needn’t be cluttered - a distinctive dual-chamber design makes it incredibly easy to assemble an immaculate system that keeps cables tidy and out of view Three crystal-clear tempered glass panels, fitted in the front, roof and a hinged easy-access side panel door, provide a stunning view of your PC’s high-profile components Specifications • Dimensions (L x W x H): 423mm x 344mm x 505mm •Material: Steel, Plastic, Glass From this view, we can see a majority of the items that make this PC case different than most. Made of metal, plastic, and glass is nothing new, but the style, design, and layout are. On three sides of the Corsair Crystal 680X, we have some sort of tempered glass. The top and front pieces of glass cover the ventilation opening and where either fans or radiators may be installed. The largest piece is the all glass (minus the hinges) side panel.
Let us start our journey of the Corsair 680X at the top of the case and we find that you have buttons and connection available to you. The buttons include the power and reset, while your other connections are placed between them. The ports that you can access are mic/headphone, Type-C 3.1, and USB 3.0. It might seem like a minor detail, but I do like that the rest and power buttons are not next to each other to help prevent those accidental button pushes.
Sliding over to the left we get a better look at the top panel and the glass that decorates and protects this area. I know the first thing you are saying is "That glass will restrict the air flow!". As we can see that the glass is raised up off the top of the case and is totally unblocked on all four sides. A rough measurement gives us a total of 22.5 square inches of open space for the air to escape.
If you would like to remove or replace the tempered glass, four thumbs screws can be removed and then the smoked glass can be taken off.
Looking at the front of the Corsair 680X we see the second piece of glass. Like the top piece this on is raised off the front of the air intake about .5 of an inch and is 18.5 inches long and 7.5 inches wide. Although it is raised off the case the front panels are made to blend the glass into the design. Along the left side of the front panel eight .5 x 1.5-inch vents are added to increase the amount of air allowed into the case. I looked on how the panel could be removed and found that it would require a small Philips screwdriver and probably 20-30 minutes as it appears that you would have to take most of the front section apart. Moving to the right side of the case, which has a solid side panel, we see that there is plenty of air intake. An included magnetic fan filter is placed over the perforated metal. Why is there an air intake placed here? This is where the intake of the power supply will be getting its fresh air.
The rear of the case gives us a glimpse of what the inside might be like. The right looks like your typical modern day pc case, but it is quickly noticed that the power is over the left and has been turned vertically. Above that we can see were plenty of air can flow in or out of the Corsair 680X with or without the assistance of fans.
Turning the case so that we can see the bottom allows us to see that a plastic removable dust filter covers an opening that enters the main cavity of the case.
It is about time that we jump into the inside of the case, but first, we get a pretty good view of the left, all glass, side panel. A black stripe along the edge of the panel helps hides the sides of the metal case giving it a cleaner look. Two hinges are at the rear and are attached to the panel with a single screw on each hinge.
The door is held closed with lightly powered magnets at the top and bottom right side of the glass. Just enough strength to panel closed and that a slight tug with allow the door to open. A single screw on the top hinge can be removed to allow the entire door to be taken off for easy access.
The all-white interior matches the outer color keeping the "snow blind" look intact. A huge hole in the motherboard mounting area gives everyone a generous amount of access to the backside of any motherboard installed in the case. 9 rubbers grommet pass through areas and three small holes at the very base give any PC builder plenty of options to run wires and cables.
Included with the Corsair Crystal 680X is an SP120 fan at the rear. From this viewpoint, there are vertical GPU mounting slots available with all the other normal I/O port outlets.
Turning our attention the front side we see that we also get 3 LL120 RGB fans with the purchase of the Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB. The three LL120 RGB fans give you a total of 48 customizable RBG LED's. If you noticed there are two thumb screws just off to the right of the top and lower fans. Once removed you can take out the whole panel with the fans are attached to it. The two front panels (one left, one right) can be removed to get access to those areas behind them to do what you like. The top inside of the case shows us where you can install fans and radiators of different sizes. Once again with the removal of two thumb screws, you can completely remove the mounting bracket.
A true totally tool-less storage cage made of plastic allows you to put plenty of 2.5 and 3.5 drives into the Crystal 680X. For the 2.5 size drives, all you need to do is insert them till you hear a click, while the 3.5 drives have just a few more steps of removing the holder, insert the drive while letting the 4 pins snap into the screw holes. Then all you have to do is replace the holder, with the drive, back in the cage and you are all done. Let's say you do not need four holders for SSD's. simply remove the ones you do not need. The 2.5 cages are locked together with "arrow" shaped tabs that when tugged on snap apart and back together again.
Mounting of the power supply is pretty straight forward. Make sure you remove the small holding tab on the larger plate. This small tab, once reinstalled, will keep the PSU from moving around during transportation. 4 rubber pads isolate the PSU from the mounting hardware thus helping to eliminate any possible noise to be transferred to the case.
What we see here is the Lighting Node Pro... and this what? This turns the Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB into a smart case which allows you to control and synchronize RGB lighting through the Corsair iCUE software and across all iCUE compatible products that include fans, RGB LED light strips, DDR4 memory, keyboards, mice and more.

Hardware Installation and Clearance Compatibility
Shown in this section is a simple and rather quick install of the hardware and what I think a non-cable management person might do. I did this to illustrate that even without full-on management you can still have a very clean looking PC.

Cable management: Plenty of space for all your cables behind the main/dividing motherboard tray 9 pass through grommets 3 smaller non-grommet pass through Raise cable tie mounts in the right place Keeps a majority of the cables hidden from the visible side
After digging around, taking it apart and installing a system I will have to say that I believe the Corsair 680X RGB is made mostly for high airflow cooling. Corsair does list a lot of possibilities to mount radiators of all sizes, yet you really have nowhere to install a good size pump and reservoir. This leads me to think that they are hoping/pushing you to install one of the Corsair AIO's. Which is not a bad idea, considering the smaller inside size of the 680X. Now I am not saying that a custom water cooling loop could not be installed. You will just have to down-size some the components or maybe placing in them on the non-viewable side. But, as case modders will do, a window could be easily be added to show off the water cooling hardware. Not being a fan of all the crazy RBG stuff when it is pushed upon you and can't you can do nothing about it or with it. I will say that the NODE Pro and iCUE software helped ease my pain. Playing around with it and being able to set a nice single color that was not too bright, made me rather happy. The two products allow you to do so much with the lighting that found myself playing with the lights and effects for quite some time.
Placing the power supply vertically behind the motherboard mounting was smart for several reasons. One is that you have now created a compartmentalized case that has removed some of the heat from one area completely. Second, you have now lowered the overall height of the case, yet you can still install an ATX sized motherboard. Lastly, you made a huge area to route and hide every single cable. Great for those that just hate to do cable management but want a clean looking inside, but also great for those that must make sure that every tiny cable is folding, routed, and tied down. At a suggested price of $249.99USD, some might think that is a very tall price to ask for. But, if you step back, look at what you are getting and add up the pricing of the NODE Pro, three LL120 RGB fans and a fourth 120mm rear fan you are already at about $160+. So this means you are only paying about $80 for the case. Overall I do like the look (minus the top glass piece...) and size of the Corsair 680X RGB. The white color gives a great base for someone like me, a modder, to paint the case any color I want it to be. If you are looking for your next custom build and want it to be incredibly easy and undeniably cool then I would recommend that you take a long look at the 680X RGB. So with that said I have already installed a new system into the Crystal Series Corsair 680X RBG and will be using it soon as my daily PC, but I think I am going to keep it white... for now. MY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE "THE GREAT COMET" AND A SMALL THING FROM ME I GUESS
Okay i just found out that The Great Comet of 1812 is closing on September 3rd, unlike what it’s said on the website for so long (it said Januaray 7th) I was setting up commissions. I did the math. I had a shot of seeing this show one more time. Now it’s all gone. And I know “Be happy at least you got see its once” and believe me I am. But I haven’t been that happy in a very, very long time. Even more than a show it was my dreams coming true. Everything I wish for, everything I pray for, everything I cry myself to sleep over almost every night because I don’t think I can ever do. I want to be a musical theatre actress, more than anything, it makes more happy than anything. Seeing the show made me feel slightly like one, even for only two hours. I got to be on a broadway stage, have a spotlight on me for a few moments and be surrounded by beautiful, talented, amazing actors and actresses. I just wanted to feel happy again. I wanted to pretend for even just a few moments that I could be someone or something. I was so close too. I would have had enough money by chirstmas. Now it’s to late. And no one can change it. I’m crying everytime I look at my phones background (which of course is Great Comet) because it’s just a reminder of what made me happy, and how now it’s being killed. I don’t now to most people I’m probably overreacting. But that show made me happy. I was planning on posting my experiences at the show, and I guess now is as could as anytime.
-when everyone ran out to start off act one, I shit you not, Helene’s (Amber Gray) dress just brushed me and i had a heart attack 1)because im jumpy and 2) because its freaKING AMBER GRAY
-I got a dumpling from Sonya (Ashley Perez Flangan) and having an end seat and I got to have a short conversation with her (she is so nice, God bless her)
-just starting with the prologue you expierence so many things that the cast recording can not portray, like:
-THE FRIENDSHIPS!! SONYA AND NATAYSA! DOLOKHOV AND ANATOLE!! Seriously under rated friendships.
-Dolohkov is the best. Through the whole thing. And Nick Choksi is really nice (I got to meet him at stage door)
-half the orchestra is on stage?! It’s amazing there fucking doing all the crazy running around while playing beautifully??
-Anatole (Lucas Steele) when running up to Natasha’s box, chuckles and like you’d never hear that on the album but it’s such a cute little laugh.
-also he looks at himself in the mirror before going to talk to Natasha (for like a while.
-also most Great Comet fans have probably heard this but Dolokhov kisses the hand of a woman in the audience and like bxjznodndodbdks (go ask @ohxfiddlesticks if you want to know more about why theres so much stuff on Dolokhov)
-I GOT A LOVE LETTER!! AND LIKE I WAS SO HAPPY!! I OPENED IT ON MY TRAIN HOME!! I SNORT LAUGHED!! I WAS SO HAPPY!!
-When Anatole (Lucas Steele) was running up the stairs with the fur coat I kinda had to move out of the way to not get hit with the coat but I got brushed by it and it was so soFT!!
-Theres so much stuff I missed but heres the summery Oak is an amzing Pierre, the emotion in his voice (his voice period), just everything. Denne Benton is beautiful and seriously ripped out my heart from about Natasha and Sonya to the end and the rest of the time she was melting my heart Ashley Perez Flanngan was breathtaking as Sonya. Sonya Aline was beautiful. And she remembered me?! Lucas Steele is just the best. Anatole is very funny through most of the show and he portrays him so well, I’m slightly sad I didn’t get to meet him but like he still amazing and I understand why he wouldn’t. Amber Gray is a goddess. Like she is everything. So is Grace McLean. They are beyond words. NICK CHOKSI!! DOLOKHOV IS THE BEST!! JUST NO WORDS (again @ohxfiddlesticks would know why I’m slightly fangirling)
The thing I want to say to end this is that The Great Comet of 1812 is God sent, and itxs a crime that it will not stay on broadway. I do not blame anyone, but I’m still very angry amd depressed and to be honest it will take me a while to “get over it”. I can’t put into words how much I loved this show. And how much it hurts me to know it’ll be gone. Part of me hopes someone will tell me I heard wrong. Or that this is a bad dream. But I doubt it.

As we said, these glass panels are the best option when it comes to showing off your PC components. Corsair’s white case with a TG window definitely deserves a more in-depth look – it’s a chassis with a beautiful design and some pretty interesting features.
The 570X is the company’s glassiest model yet – it uses thick 1/8″ glass plates on its sides, the face, and the top. The extra-light tint on these plates does a pretty good job of reflecting the objects that surround it, making the panels quite shiny. Some people might think that this kind of structure is a real dust collector, but the glass panels of 570X actually collect a lesser amount of dust than the steel panels of many other models we’ve reviewed.
The front-panel ports, as well as the fan lighting controls, are situated close to the top panel near the right corner. It’s an ideal placement for the people who put their PCs on the left side of the desk. Here, we can find the standard connectivity – headphone, microphone, power, reset, and 2 x USB 3.0.
The model provides ample space for radiators and is capable of supporting up to 6 case fans – the package includes three SP120 LED fans. The case itself has a pretty moderate size of 480 x 234 x 512mm and supports the following motherboard form factors – mini-ITX, micro-ATX, and ATX. Hence, the maximum motherboard size that fits inside Corsair Crystal 570X is ATX, but not EATX or XL. The backside of this white glassy chassis introduces seven expansion slots, as well as the PSU section.
When it comes to the interior, the model has no place for the 5.25″ drives, which isn’t that bad since the optical units are a thing of the past. You can, however, house up to 2 SSDs and two HDDs. The unit also sports a couple of dust filters, located on the bottom, top, and frontal sections. They are held in place by magnets and one has to remove the glass panels first to get to them.
As far as we’re concerned, this PC case is a pretty good for those who really want as much glass aesthetic on their chassis as possible. It’s a beautiful model whose design easily justifies its price.
NZXT H700i
Highlights:
Minimalistic design
Great construction quality
Great cable management system

Check Pricing & Availability
This chassis is the largest in the company’s all-new H-series, which is a lineup that also includes H200i and H400i PC cases. Visually, it is the successor to the famous S340, bearing the same smooth surface, sharp edges, and the cable management bar. However, there are some updates that set it apart from its predecessor – let’s check them out together.
The NZXT H700i can be purchased in white, black, and a wide array of accent colors, such as red, blue, or black. The white version is absolutely spectacular and looks even more minimalistic than the other versions. Its dimensions stand at 494 x 230 x 516mm, weight at 27lbs, and it comes together with a manufacturer’s warranty of two years.
The top panel of this white PC case is the home to your standard connection ports – microphone, headphone, two USB 2.0 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports. The remaining area of the top panel is featureless and smooth, as is the entire front panel. The opposite side panel, on the other hand, sports a one-button release mechanism, giving the user an instant access to the space behind the motherboard tray. The air intake vents provide fresh air and are bear the accent color.
The 5mm thick TG side panel is somewhat recessed, which means that it can be difficult to put it back onto its rubber-coated pins once you decide to remove it. The tempered glass side panel is held in place by a couple of metal thumbscrews, which is the usual deal with these models.
The rear of NZXT H700i sports an opening for a bottom-mounted PSU, seven expansion card slots, as well as the regular motherboard I/O area. The case supports both the 140mm and 120mm fans and comes outfitted with a single 140mm fan. The bottom of the chassis, on the other hand, features a single filtered hole for your PSU as well as four large feet that keep the model about one inch above the surface.
The construction quality and attractive design are the reasons this model ended up in our list of top white tempered glass cases. It’s pretty obvious that the engineers from NZXT pay a lot of attention to detail, even when they’re making models that are supposed to have minimalistic aesthetics. It’s a fetching model and a perfect choice for those looking for a truly premium building experience.
NZXT S340VR Elite
Highlights:
Excellent build quality
Easy dust filter access
HMDI port

When you are searching for a white glass cases for your PC, you have to look out for a brand that can provide not just a pristine and quality aesthetic look but also a durable one at that.
When it comes to quality TG cases, NZXT is among those names that is probably on everybody’s radar. The company has proven time and time again that they’re highly innovative when it comes to both exterior designs and internal layouts. Is their new S340VR Elite PC case worthy of your consideration? Read on and find out!
Based on the budget PC case NZXT S340, the Elite version adds a single tempered glass side panel, as well as a couple of other upgrades that push this chassis into the middle market. Among these upgrades are things like the front panel HDMI port, an extra pair of USB ports, as well as the magnetic headphone holder.
All of case’s front panel ports are situated on the edge of its top panel, with the added USB ports being of the old 2.0 class. The HMDI port, on the other hand, is connected to a pass-through cable. Around the back are the 120mm exhaust fan and seven expansion slots. A removable bracket enables the PSU to be effortlessly slid into the back of the chassis in order to avoid collision with the PSU shroud.
Beneath the model’s PSU bracket, we find a PSU dust filter which is large enough to offer optimal airflow. Above it are the slot brackets, which are secured with both the slot access cover and some screws. One thing we particularly like about this case is its pull-off front panel, which conceals a dust filter. We should also mention that the hard drives are secured by screws, as are the SSD trays.
The model includes two fans, with both of them being in an exhaust configuration. These are 1 x 120mm rear and 1 x 120mm top fans. NZXT chose this setup because the model’s TG window extends all the way to the frontal part of the chassis, therefore blocking side intake through the case’s front panel.
What about the “VR” in the model’s name? Well, nothing extravagant, actually – the included HDMI port allows easier connection with your HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, so if you’re spending some time playing VR games, this should be something you might find convenient.
In our opinion, the S340 Elite is a splendid evolution of an already good PC case design. An improved cable management system, the upgraded materials, and some VR-related features are all welcome additions. With its extensive cable routing options and a tempered glass panel, it’s a chassis worthy of your money.
Phanteks Eclipse P400

Comes with two types of top covers
Fan controller
A huge tempered glass panel

Over the years, the guys and girls working at Phanteks have created a lot of PC cases. It’s one of the most trusted and respected brand names and a favorite of thousands of system builders around the planet. With that in mind, we were quite excited to take a closer look at one of their newest TG PC cases – the P400 Eclipse.
Straight out of the box, this white chassis makes a statement. The model sports a full-size TG side panel that allows one to show off the interior of his computer. On the right-hand side, everything is a lot more reserved – it’s a simple, solid black panel held in place by two thumbscrews. The model’s front panel, on the other hand, features a design that’s clean yet interesting – it allows ventilation at its top and bottom sides.
At the top of the case’s front panel, one can find the controls for lighting and fan speed, as well as the power button and the standard connectivity ports – microphone, headphone, and 2 x USB 3.0. Around the back, things look quite standard, with all the usual hardware mounts. There are a couple of nice touches, though – like the slide-out dust filter for the power supply or the elongated screw mounts for the back fan.
Those seeking silence from their PCs will be pleased to find two soundproof panels on the case’s top mounts – they can be replaced by magnetic dust filters which are included in the package. Behind the covers are the supports for 2 x 140mm or 2 x 120mm fans, or a 280/240mm radiator. On the model’s base, four sizeable feet provide a pretty good ground clearance, giving the PSU air intake plenty of space for ventilation.
The model’s tempered glass side panel is held in place by four thumbscrews, which is a standard deal with these kinds of PC enclosures. Once these screws are removed, the panel can be simply lifted away, giving you access to spacious interior. Fitting the hardware into P400 is quite easy thanks to the cable routing holes and the sizeable CPU cooler cut-out.
White design with a tempered glass window and a great construction quality take this chassis to a new level. Eclipse P400 looks beautiful and is easy to work with – what more could one want from a PC case?
Why Choose a White Tempered Glass PC Chassis?
