i don't think the cultist dlc is canon and i haven't played it in a long while anyways but god i wish Wei did just jump right into doing shitty and boring but also VERY VISIBLE cop nonsense because it's legit kinda nuts. like there are so many people in Hong Kong who want him dead, most probably including his old crew, and yet that's the exact kind of ridiculously self-destructive nonsense i'd expect Wei to do after the events of the actual game. the kind of shenanigans that would follow from him just resurfacing as a fucking beat cop as if nothing had happened would be the perfect way to start a sequel, given that you actually gave a shit about any other character in the game beyond Wei and Jackie anyways
