i just want to know WHY the dw writers pushed the river/doctor + amy/doctor parallels so hard knowing what the endgame was gonna be. like positioning amy as the woman the doctor trusts in comparison to river who he doesn't, and explictly drawing a parallel between rivers first meeting with the doctor (she was seduced by the doctor bcos he dropped out of the sky and knew everything about her, impressionable young girl etc etc) and amy's which is the exact same story. 11 dies and the one who it affects the most is amy. the one who comforts her first is the doctor. why did they do this.

#anyways i think the reason why i never connected with river is that 90% of her screen time is used to flirt with the doctor #and he typically responds in a way that is wildly out of character (overtly sexual) and feels more like moffats self insert than anything #like she literally spends her time off screen locked in prison. she exists solely to prop up the doctor.#like all of this “amy is not so subtly in love with the doctor” subtext AND SHE GIVES BIRTH TO HIS FUTURE WIFE??? it's literally sickkkk #.txt
