IDW did Spike Witwicky dirty and I'm salty about it. In the cartoon he was a sweet kid who loved his Autobot friends and wrote in his diary about how he thought Optimus would be "a neat president", and they turned him into THIS:

They also changed his dad, Sparkplug, from a blue collar worker to an Army general. Thanks, I hate it.

#IDW's TF comics were kind of trash until James Roberts came along #Spike Witwicky #G1 #Transformers #IDW #maccadam #Sparkplug Witwicky #and THEN they besmirched the Witwicky name in the live action movies with Sam #like Spike wasn't my favorite G1 character or anything but he was a solid and welcome part of the supporting cast #and he was one of the least annoying 'kid sidekicks' to come out of the 80s #I was never mad to see him #which is more than I can say about the human characters in G1 My Little Pony #or that stupid kid in the cape in TMNT
