If you were to make your own pokemon starter trio, what would their unifying theme be?

Well, that will depend on what the region theme would be, or what about the region would stand out.

And atm, I don't really have a particularly region in mind... um, I have thought of a region inspired around Halloween and all things spooky, if doing original starters, I'd vote for a bat, spider, and (black) cat or wolf or hose that'll really play off nightmare. And either they'll all be part ghost or it'll be a ghost, bug, and dark.

I'd also be tempted to be bias and do a trio of some of my favorite animals: snake, shark, fox, horse, or peacock.

But idk what the themes would be. That theme would come down to the region and I don't really have a region in mind.

#ask Punchie #pokemon #I do wish pokemon had gone a route of starters echoing a big theme in the region #cause lore wise I do always wonder why are these specific 3 the starters of the region?#and there could've been a lot of fun possibilities #like if doing some rearrangements #replaying Black #the music stands out to me the most so why not a starter trio tied to music and performance?#so you got Grookey Fuecoco and either Quaxly or Popplio #could also do something with like starter rivalries #like Froakie and Oshawott could echo ninja vs samurai #Chimchar and Tepig both are loosely based on characters from The Journey West so there could be something there #idk on grass rivalries though #Galar could've had a fairytale trio to represent iconic British mythical figures #like Rowlet could've echoed Robin Hood #Chespin could be a reference to the Green AND White Knight #Charmander as a direct reference to the Welsh dragon #Fennekin could've been a reference to Morgan le Fae #Scorbunny could've been an Alice in Wonderland reference + soccer/football #Kalos wise you got Snivy and Piplup both tied to French royalty #and that could've played off Kalos as regal and beautiful #and that's just examples off the top of my head #either way #if doing original starters with a theme that would depend on what the region theme would be
