The boys were trying to figure out where you went first.

In the beginning, they thought it was another situation where you went off the explore. It had happened enough times with Wild and Hyrule that no one no longer batted an eye. They merely waited for Wolfie to show up so that he could go collect you and bring you back and then they could scold you for leaving by yourself and without telling anyone you'd be gone.

Only for Wolfie to come back looking more troubled than before.

He was running, no, sprinting to get backup that had everybody strapping on their swords and running after the divine beast as he led them to your scent.

Within moments, the group could hear the telltale signs of monsters in the area. Multiple grunts and strange babbling sounds very quickly entered their ears. They hunkered down and tracked as close as they could only to be stunned in their spots.

Wild took out his sheikah slate and started recording.

"Oh look at you! Very nice and very pretty. We'll get your beautiful hair and spick and span and cared for. You're being such a good boy." You cooed as you brushed the mane of a lynel. And he was allowing you to do so.

Legend had to sit down as every single jaw in the group fell to the forest floor.

"Oh... oh my god.... by the three..." Four whispered, watching you as you continued to groom the monster beneath you.

Wild whined and kept his sheikah slate aimed at you as other monsters happily played by your side, unbothered by the fact that none of the monsters in questions typically interact with each other. "Why can't I do that?"

'Over my dead body." Twilight hissed, reaching to smack of Wild's head.

He misses.

"Do you think the monster is soft?" Wind poked Warrior as he older hero tried to take as many mental notes as he could with the monsters "unusual" behavior around you.

"I have no idea." Warrior huffed. "But ask them whenever they're able to get away because I'm not going to collect them."

"....I can go." Hyrule offered.

"No." Legend finally picked his jaw up. "We leave them and then we grill them when they return. I'm with the Captain on this one."

"Agreed." Time muttered, watching the scene with both eyes. He shouldn't be as surprised as he is. Part of him had a suspicion that there was more to you than meets the eye. But he wasn't expecting this.

"We'll have to leave quietly." Sky hissed, already stepping back. "I don't know about you. But I don't think that just because the monsters are friendly with them that they'll be just as friendly with us."

Four nodded, pulling Wind away gently by the arm as he leaned forward. "Let's go. We shouldn't get caught."

Wolfie suddenly appears next to time, beginning to usher the boys away.

Someone steps on a stick, alerting the monsters of their presence. Every one freezes and waits.

The monsters pause.

You look up, not seeing them, but knowing that they are most likely there, and that you've been found out.

The lynel finally stands, ignoring your attempts to calm him back down and goes to investigate.

Day 85: Attack on Gerudo Town

The attack on Gerudo Town begins. 

It's hard to keep an eye on all the gates at once, and the sand makes it hard to move quickly.

I focus on taking out the hives first - and then we mop up the remaining gibdo. Gerudo Town is safe again, for now. 

Debriefing afterwards, Riju noticed that the gibdo hives became sand when they were destroyed. She wonders if the gibdo and the sand are more connected than we thought. It's a shame she and Zelda haven't had cause to spend much time together - it's exactly the kind of observation the Princess would love. 

Now that the threat is passed, we can discuss Riju's summons. She wants to show me something down in the shelter. 

Past the rolling door below is the vibrant Gerudo community I remember. I'm glad it's surviving this much, at least. 

A young girl, Delia, immediately runs up to me - and we're told off by Lorn. She's too young to talk to Voe. Lorn does not want me here - too bad. 

I find Cara, the accessory designer. I remember the shop owner she mentions - apparently she went out for supplies and hasn't come back yet. The desert must be littered with lost people. We need to sort that sand shroud. Cara says she went to the Toruma Dunes - where there are Molduga. Great. 

Beside a strangely familiar orb, I meet Rotana, a scholar. She's working on deciphering stelae, writings on stone pillars. This one says: 

“The seven heroines who protect the Gerudo. Their secret will be expressed on six stelae.”

On the other stela she has, it says: 

“The seven heroines who protect the Gerudo. And eighth channels and guides the powers of these seven.”

Rotana says the heroines are so ancient nothing is known about them - not even if they should be worshiped as a collective or as individuals. Apparently there may even have only been one at all - or conversely, eight! Hence the eighth heroine statue in the Highlands, I suppose. 

She wants to find the other four stelae and make her name in archeology. She thinks they'll be underground. I shall look out. 

I find Riju looking at a mural surrounded by water.

“Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way. You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you.”

Incredible. Words directly from the sage, preserved here. 

It sounds like I should start at the throne. But I want to explore this shelter first. 

I find one of Rotana's stelae behind some crumbling rock.

She translates it as:

“The seven heroines protect the Gerudo with the powers of heart, skill, fortitude, wisdom, flight, mobility, and compassion.”

There's a Hylian here, Jules. She warns me not to misbehave - there's already a man in jail. I miss the inconspicuousness of my Gerudo clothes…

There's a kid called Aaqlet - that's the name the guy in jail said as I went by. Poor guy, he probably just came to check on his kid. And her mum isn't here either, she's working at the secret clothes shop. Aaqlet has a map, which I should follow at some point. 

The spa and the wine bar have moved down here, so at least people are still managing to do business. 

I cross the main hall again to explore the other side - and fall down a hole! The short drop ends with a splash. There's a message in a bottle.

“It's you! At long last! You, the voe reading this letter, are the voe I was fated to meet! And I am the vai you were destined for! You must hurry and rescue me! I am locked away from the outside world! Do not worry though! I will send all of my love to you until you come and find me. Stay safe and know that we will meet soon. It is our destiny, after all! -Calyban”

Oh dear. I should just put this back in the water. But where does this tunnel go, anyway? 

A bunch of places: a house in Gerudo Town, a circular path that needed blasting open, and finally a korok panel. I ascend through the tunnel and head back to the shelter. 

I find Calyban by the large hole in the shelter floor, but she wants to be left alone. Fair enough.

Another kid, Kalani, also hides her face when I approach. I leave her be and stop at the goddess statue. 

In exchange for the four Sage's Wills I've found, I grant Tulin a stronger attack. I also get three heart containers, to hopefully make it harder to blow myself up. 

I stop in at a classroom, and find myself in use as a teaching aid. Nali is too shy to look at me - but I do have that Sheikah mask… it's not enough for her. I don't actually think I have any full-face masks - I'll have to come back. 

Past where the sand seals are hanging out, I find a room that's almost a miniature of the valley of the seven heroines.

I wonder… I've seen a  few small orbs around. This would seem to be the place for them. I wonder what happens if I find them all.

I find a buried and broken stela, and manage to blow away the sand and put it back together again.

Beyond, a much larger tunnel. The valley of silent statues. 

It's already been a long day - in fact, it's nearly over. But I want to know what's down here… 

I find Nellie, who's been exploring down here a little. She doesn't seem to think much of it though - she's heading back to the canteen.

Ok. Ok, so. Originally, I wanted to talk about my rewrite SKs, but this morning, I woke up with my mind at Gene. And not mys Gene. Mcd Gene. So ehm. I have a dilemma about smh that idk if I should add to my rewrite.

Basically, my rewrite for mcd will be mcd intertwined with rebirth.

Sooo ye, Aph and Gene meet in Bright Port as she looks for that herb (moon flower???? I'm so sorry but the name escaped my mind at the moment.) for Brendan and Gene is trying to get to the werewolf tribe for the nether portal, I believe. And they meet. Aphmau goes face first into his chest(which tbh ouch, bcs. armour.) and he, very kindly, shoos her away because he doesn't have time for her bs.

She follows him around for a bit, yelling about needing help for her friend and how she needs that herb. He finally turns to face her, and oh. She's the same girl from Phoenix Drop. The one that Vylad was watching. The one with the weird markings. Now, that's interesting. Enough to make him go off the tracks with his mission. As they get into that little argument about her wanting to take the herb to Brendan but Gene not really wanting to give it to her, as its the only one that he has left. She offers to help him, blah blah then Aph promises him that she'll bring him to the werewolf tribe for this. But again, she wants to get the herb first and give it to Brendan but Gene doesn't trust her--- and Paul appears.

Tbh things go like in rebirth for most of the part, with some small changes that I won't mention in this post.

Now, things go off the rails after Aphmau goes to save the werewolf pup and the Lord of Bright Port. Because Gene follows along with. Not good intentions. Aphmau gets ambushed by Shadow Knights, at some point one of them coming forward to attack her(it was Gene) and she kind of hits him hard enough to let him a bit bruised. Which surprises him, as he, in the time he was with her, she seemed helpless, falling in holes. Tripping because of her own legs. And now she hits him so hard that he fell.

Whatever, she ends up fainting exactly when they get to the portal, and before Burt could do anything about it, Gene comes forward and gets her, all four of them leaving the nether. Now, Gene's alibi is that he """"went in after her"""""", which was also proved by the werewolves as they did see him go in later, after she went. So. Lovely.

Aphmau wakes up, the tribe is....low-key destroyed. And now she makes it her mission to find the ones who did this. Because she has a hero complex apparently.

Anyway, before she can do that she stays a bit there as she is kind of hurt. Because. Well. Ye. And Gene remains there. Because well. He kind of failed his mission, I mean, he did open the portal and all...but. eh. Idk, honestly this part is a bit blurry in my head too so like, I'll come back with a more clear reason, but he remained for some reason. With his mood more down than usual as he is going to die twice. They bring Burt to Bright Port and now there comes my dilemma.

I have a very rough idea in my head. These two going to an adventure of sorts for a few days, so they'll actually be low-key friends, so when Aph slowly starts relaizing that Dante's brother and 'her' Gene are the same, that the man who tortured Laurance is the same as the man who she befriended and who helped her. And it hurts. When they eventually meet in s3 it hurts. Ye. So originally it starts as a Aphmau trying to find the ones who destroyed the werewolf tribe and Gene follows along as a 'trying to stop her from doing that' and because he lowkey looked at it as a holiday of sorts before going back to O'Kasis to report. But it turns into a 'Aph exploring the world as she was technically born like 2 months ago'. And Gene being like 'girlie wdym you don't know what a bear is??? wdym you never saw a crow before??? WDYM YOU DONT KNOW WHAT *INSERT TYPE OF FOOD* IS?!?! aren't you like what- 19?-20???'

At some point Gene gets like scratched or smh and Aphmau decides to like. Help him and by exercising her magic by healing him. And he freaks out because why tf is trying to touch his face randomly. He doesn't like it. And than she of course, gets her way and does manage to heal him and he freaks out even more because she starts shining for fucks sake.

They don't talk about how he freaked out.

At some point they spare together and she wins. Not all rounds, but she does. And that also freaks him out.

The ending of this adventure is either like. Gene stealing finding a boat and bringing her to Phoenix Drop himself.

Or perhaps ending up in Meteli and having even more ginger haired Laurance content....? And Eventually they bid their goodbyes there, and Laurance brings her to Phoenix Drop.

Btw everyone in Phoenix Drop freaked out this whole time. Especially Garroth as he also knew that Paul left her with random man. Ik, Lovely. Why didn't he do smh about it? Paul tries his best to keep him calm because Aphmau can handle herself.

Shouting Into the Void #3: The Cangst is Real (TWST)

My guy got justice in that Heartslabyul manga.

Twisted Wonderland characters have this certain level of depth to them. Usually when you watch someone's vignettes, you learn a lot about them (except for Malleus, that guy is still kind of an enigma in his, what-). However, someone I always had my eye on was Cater. When I first got into the game, the first thing I heard someone say about him was that he was kind of a dull character. His initial personality trait is being a social media fan, which they found annoying. I didn't share the same opinion since I didn't know anyone but the Scarabia Duo, but it put him on my radar. 

I like Cater. He's funny, he's got a great dynamic with the dorm, and he's basically the vice-vice housewarden. He doesn't like sweets, which my sugar addicted self can respect despite not relating at all. The main thing I knew in terms of Cater Lore was that he had two older sisters that he had a complicated relationship with. Also they were the reason he didn't like sweets. But I felt I was missing something. There was more to this guy.

Cater's wish (Wish Upon a Star my beloved). That went off on my radar. Trey comes to collect Cater's wish (also I could go off about their dynamic, I love it) and Cater wishes for more followers. Same as last year. Trey calls him out, so he changes it to having a good school year. Trey gets suspicious, cause this dude is great at reading people and terrible at using this information. Cater won't tell Trey hid genuine wish, even though I'm pretty sure Trey is his closest friend. So I thought, oh, Cater Angst exists, or Cangst if you will. I wanted to explore this. I ranted to my sister that it existed. Secrets?! I wanted that Cater Lore. Also dude's labwear vignette. Plants that project your core emotions and he shows three surface level ones and stashes the "rejects," don't think I didn't see that sir-

Then, about a month before the Halloween event was released in English, I read the subbed version of Cater's Halloween Card. And OH THERE IT WAS. THERE'S THE CANGST!

I'll be discussing it now that the English version of the game just introduced the card. Cater is trying to be contacted by an old friend and he is just shrugging it off. We learn his dad is a banker, so his family moved around a lot before he came to NRC. He tells the Light Music Club he had fun going around seeing new sights and people (chronic liar). He says he loves light, casual friendships, which is why he likes Magicam. Lilia puts two and two together and Mr. I've Been Alive For Hundreds of Years says it must be lonely not being able to stick around to form meaningful relationships. Cater, internally, doesn't take Lilia seriously because what does he know? He's part of the Diasomnia Family of Four, they've known each other their whole lives (if only he knew). Everytime he has to move, he loses every connection he has and has to start over. It hurt too much, so he just stopped trying to have those connections. He keeps everyone at arm's length. He'd rather have thousands of casual connections than a few strong ones he could lose. Trey's probably the longest friendship he's been able to have, and he still keeps him at arm's length. He acts like he doesn't have any close friends, but I'm calling him out on that.

He's part of the Heartslabyul Five. I don't know about you, but those five have one of the best intradorm dynamics. Those five are at their best when they're all together. That call Cater got after that Diasomnia family fluff showed they're all pretty close (also the way that call came after he reflected on Diasomnia's family dynamic, yooo-). Either he hasn't noticed or he's just in denial. He's got close friends, he just won't admit it because he thinks they'll just drift apart when he graduates. Which is just sad. Also Cater's an EXTROVERT which makes everything worse for him, he's supposed gain from social interaction not walk on eggshells.

Cater has a lot more going than people give him credit for. Those Halloween Cards FEED. The Juniors are really interesting. They've gotten used to the chaos that is NRC and barely bat an eye when the freshmen are freaking out. They seem tired. Anyway, Cater's cool. I spent too much on his Halloween card. Ready to see this guy do more. I just wanted to ramble.

Rouge: I'm sure there's millions of reasons why he fallen for her. (Smiles Softly) I'm just happy that they're made for each other.

Knuckles: Yeah. Same. (Takes a Bit of his Granola Bar and Eats it) So what kind of mission you guys are gonna get assigned this time?

Rouge: (Smiles Brightly) None. We're having the whole day to ourselves today.

Knuckles: (Swallows the Snack He Was Eating) Seriously?

Rouge: Yep. Last night's mission went so well that the general decided to give us the day off today. Shadow's already back at the mansion with his fam and I believe Omega is spending time with Futuba and crew.

Knuckles: Nice. So you wanna go to town later on today? We can try shopping for those boots that you wanted.

Rouge: Nah. I'll sit this one out. (Rest her Head Onto Knuckles' Shoulder) I wanna spend the rest of the day here with my handsome Knucklehead~

Knuckles: (Chuckles Lightly) Really? Rouge the Bat not wanting to shop today? What gives?

Rouge: Well, for starters, my paycheck doesn't come out till next week and even then, I still don't have enough for buy those boots.

Knuckles: You think they'll still be at the show store will have them by the time you get paid?

Rouge: Considering how popular are they nowadays, I kind of doubt they'll last in there for that long. Regardless of that, I'm feeling lazy today. So you're gonna have to keep me company for the day.

Knuckles: Cool. I don't mind having a lazy day or two. But do you have any plans on we could do by then.

Rouge: We can do a lot of things: watch a movie, cook, explore around the island, and....(Starts Giving Knuckles a Seductive Smirk on her Face) Maybe we can do something special in the bedroom later this evening~ Unless you wanna spend four and a half weeks doing that dumb challenge.

Knuckles: I'll pass. I wouldn't even last an hour with you around.

Rouge: True. I am a pretty irresistible lady after all~

Knuckles: Eh. You're pretty average at best.

Rouge: (Immediately Pouts at Knuckles Before Slapping his Arms) Rude!~

A Love Like No Other

Jacob Seed X OC Ana Pearce

Chapter Two

Going back home was a bloody nightmare. Tim and Kelly went off their heads when Ana walked through the front door, not knowing that Blake was right behind her. They yelled in her face and Kelly had grabbed Ana's arm so tightly that she was sure there was a bruise already. The moment Blake walked in and yelled back at his parents, Tim and Kelly backed off, letting Ana get past.

"From this day forward, Hannah, Haley and Ana are allowed to leave this house whenever they want" Blake put his foot down to his parents. "They are old enough to look after themselves and do whatever. It's time you two, grew the fuck up".

"I've had enough of your tone Mr. We are your parents, you do not raise your voice or order us on what to do" Tim raised his voice.

"Listen here old man" Blake walked up to his father's face. "Lay a single finger on one of my sisters and I'll break that finger. You understand? If you wanted respect from your children, then you should have never abused them".

Hannah and Haley followed their siblings into Blake's bedroom, curious to know where they had gone.

"So? What does Hope County have for us?" Hannah asked as she sat down next to her brother.

"Other than forests, mountains and lakes. We've got a small town called Falls End. It has a bar and some clothing stores" Ana started explaining. "Oh and a lot of farms".

"And not to mention, a church for a religious cult" Blake smirked.

"Now we're talking" Hannah said. "Keep going".

"Yeah we met the leader. His people call him The Father but he said his name was Joseph Seed" Blake continued to explain. "He has two brothers Jacob and John and a sister, Faith Seed".

"Are they good looking?" Haley asked.

"Yes. The brothers were hot and Faith..."

"She was beautiful" Blake interrupted Ana, as he remembered Faith and her beautiful features.

"Wow. Someone's in love" Hannah joked.

"Joseph said he'd like to meet you two as well. Maybe our awesome brother here, can take all of us next week Sunday to another sermon" Ana informed her sisters.

Blake looked up at Ana and smiled, "my dear sister. Joseph said we can visit him anytime we wanted". He looked at his other two sisters and informed them that he was going to take them to Joseph's church tomorrow and get them to meet the Seed family for themselves.

That evening, with the help of her brother, Ana was able to leave the house to go and explore the forests that Holland Valley had. She walked through the forest, looking up at the trees and listening to the birds chirping away. The sun shone through the trees, helping her walk without having to worry about falling. As she continued to walk, she started hearing the sound of the lake's water flowing, as if it was a river instead.

"This is beautiful" she said to herself and started to turn in circles.

"You shouldn't be out here, all alone" a voice from behind her came. Ana jumped with fear and turned around to see the familiar man from the church, stand behind her and leaning against a tree.

"Hope County forest's might be beautiful to explore but the wildlife can be extremely dangerous" the man kept saying. "If you want to explore, you have to bring a weapon with you".

Ana looked down and saw the man holding what looked like, a red rifle in his hand. "Umm" was all she could say, still startled by this giant man.

"You're that girl from the church. Right?" He asked and started approaching Ana slowly.

"Yes" Ana replied back and swallowed hard.

"No need to be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you" he said and stopped right in front of Ana.

He was really tall compared to her. She had to look up a fair bit to get a better look at him. He was even more handsome up close and she was able to make out the colour of his eyes. Light Blue. They were perfect. Ana was finally able to smile at him after realising that he wasn't dangerous or scary.

"So which one are you? John or Jacob" Ana crossed her arms and examined his features. "Wait! Don't answer that. Let me guess... Jacob".

"Correct" Jacob smiled. "I'm Jacob. Oldest brother of the Seed's".

"Nice to meet you Jacob. I'm..."

"Ana. I remember from the church. I might be old but I've got a brain like an elephant" Jacob chuckled a little and started walking past Ana.

"Old? Pfft" Ana giggled.

Jacob stopped in his spot and turned to look at Ana. "47 isn't really young".

"47? Jesus Christ. You look like you're in the 30s" Ana sounded shock. "You're really handsome for a 47 year old Mr Seed".

"Jacob!" He reminded her of his name.

"Sorry. Jacob" Ana smiled.

"So you live in Holland Valley?" Jacob asked, wanting to question her about her family.

"Yep. I wanted to live in Whitetail Mountains but my parents chose this place instead" Ana explained.

"Is that so?" Jacob got close to her again.

"Yeah. On the pamphlet it said Whitetail Mountains had more forests and even mountains" Ana said.

"You like Mountains?" He continued to ask her questions.

Ana nodded with a big smile on her face.

"Interesting. Would you like to go to Whitetail Mountains one day?" Jacob asked.

"Oh I would for sure" Ana was quick to reply. "Could you take me?". She was embarrassed to ask but felt a lot better getting it out off her system.

"You want me to take you to Whitetail Mountain?" Jacob was surprised. No one in this County would have asked him for something like this or for that matter, anything at all.

"Please. I really want to see the mountains" Ana begged. "Plus, it would be a great way to get to know each other. Being new and all to this County, I'd like to make friends. I barely had any in New York".

"I'll give you my number. You let me know when you wanna go and I'll pick you up" Jacob accepted.

Ana jumped with joy, then took her phone out and put Jacob's number in. "Thank you so much Jacob".

"You're welcome but I think I should take you home" Jacob suggested. "It's getting dark and like I said, wildlife in this County, is incredibly dangerous".

"Sounds good" Ana accepted and the both of them walked out off the forest and to Jacob's truck.

Jacob had all his windows to his truck opened wide. Ana had rested her arms on the car door and enjoyed the breeze hit her face. It felt amazing and smelt like fresh air. Her long black hair flew around crazily but she didn't care. Jacob couldn't help but glance at her at times. 'She's beautiful' he thought to himself and smiled as he glanced over at her one last time.

"Jacob?" Ana called out to him, then sat back in the passenger seat. "Could you drop me off around here. I don't want my parents to see me in a car with a guy. They'll kill me and I don't think Blake can save me".

Jacob pulled his truck over and looked at Ana. "Your parents sound like bad people. Do they hurt you Ana?".

"Umm. No of course not. They are just trying to be good parents" Ana lied.

"That's not what your brother said at the church. Abusive parents are the worst" Jacob looked out the window. "My brothers copped it from our abusive parents. They've got the marks to prove it but it made them stronger".

"They don't abuse me Jacob but thank you for your concern" Ana said and placed her hand on Jacob's scarred arm. "I'll call you when I want to go to the Mountains. Thank you again Jacob". With that being said, Ana jumped out of the truck and walked the remaining distance, home.

She walked in and was greeted by her brother. The two of them spent the evening speaking about what they did when the four siblings split up. Hannah and Haley had gone to Falls End to shop around while Blake had gone to the bar for a few drinks. Ana explained to her brother about Jacob's generous offer to take her to Whitetail Mountain's to see the mountains and forest it had to offer. Blake thought it would be a good way for his sister to make some friends, since she barely had any friends back in New York. Again, that came down their parents but he was going to make sure his sister made friends here in Hope County.

"I think these Seed's are going to be great people to hang with" Blake said and sat back on the couch. "What do you think?"

"I agree. Jacob looks like a very intimidating person but I like him" Ana said. "He'd be nice to be friends with".

"When are you going to meet up with him again?" Blake asked.

"Maybe Tuesday. He gave me his number and told me to give him a call whenever I wanted to go" Ana replied back. "I'm going to get some sleep. Goodnight".

"Night" Blake responded back and decided to go to bed himself. "What a fucking awesome day".

Laying in bed, Ana couldn't stop thinking about Jacob Seed. In the morning, seeing him for the first time was awkward and uncomfortable. He continually stared at her the whole time but after seeing up closer and talking to him, Ana could help but feel a tingly while thinking about him. He seemed like a really nice guy and he was extremely handsome but the only problem she had with him, was the age. He was almost 50 years old, so hanging out with a much older man, may seem a little disturbing for others.

Ana bit on her lip and smiled, wiping out that memory and thinking about the good things about Jacob. She couldn't wait to hang out and get to know him a lot more. He seemed like a guy full of mysteries and stories.
